I'd like to request that you add in the ability to add and subtract skill modifiers to the races if possible. The stat bonuses/penalties are nice, but skill bonus/penalties would also be just as nice.

1 slight bug that im not sure how to solve would be that the wings of gargoyles do not appear when you use their model, if anyone knows whats going wrong plz let me know
ok, i figured everything out, tho i used a combination of things, too bad i cant use my hak pack cause i would be able to add the race easier, aparently when i reinstalled the last time the nwn toolset didnt install because it stops responding the second i try to start it up. but to answer a few questions, to put the hak pack you created into other modules you need to open each one up with the toolset and tell set it as one of the used resources just like all the other hak packs used in modules(same thing works when adding it to the main campaign) sry if thats a little vague but i cant open up the toolset to know the exact method.
what i did was used the race/tlk editor to create all the individual files. racialsubtypes.2da, racialtypes.2da and edited the regular nwn dialog.tlk(if you ever do this be sure to back up the original cause you wont be able to patch if you edit it) then i used Ville_Alasaari's guide to how to add a custome race to nwn, so that i knew how to edit the files directly with text editor(took a few hours but once you figure it out its pretty easy) and created the race_feat_gargoyle.2da file by copying the drow one to the desktop re-naming it and changing the feats listed to ones i looked up in the feats.2da file, once all this was done i had found that i could just put the .2da files in the override folder of the nwn2 instalation folder(not the my documents one) and everything seems to work except the wings(as mentioned above) and i am also unable to get the descriptions and such to appear at all, because they show up blank in the game, ive tried both the seperate tlk file generated with the tlk editor and also editing the original.
plz anyone lend some help if they can cause im 90% done with this race and its been buggin me since this summer when i originaly posted, thx and sry for the long post
Oh, and while the race title works perfectly fine in the module, once I export the character and load it into say, a campaign, it reads it as Bad Stref for the race, and also I am unable to open the .ifo file for character editor if I'm trying to edit him from within the campaign.
How do you add specific npc abilities? Off the top of my head would be those boss encounter skills or like when the mindflayers in SOZ extract your brain?
Not complaining or anything, but it'd be cool if there's a way (whether or not it comes from the race editor) to take this a step further. Not all creatures and npcs have them, but some nifty ones do.
How do you add the race to the OC, or any other module?
I am guessing that the numbers for the tlk references will be completely different if adding to another module that already has races added. In my case, I have Kaedrin's stuff in my game, and he had added 2 races.

last time im gonna post, wish there was a way to just edit my first post, but oh well, the level adjustment would be +4 but, i would probably move it to +3 for the sake of actually gaining a level. lol if you know how to just add these things through the toolset please let me know, i've been working on this for a week or so and im a little persistant on finishing my projects. Im adding this race to the original campaigns and also around 26 moduels i downloaded +3 campaigns and im VERRY new to using the toolset, so i dont know how to do much and actualy have it work, although i think i found a way to put the sound set into the game. thanks for any help and this really is a groundbreaking program for creating races, since the developers either didnt want to add in the ability to do this or they just didnt have time because of deadlines.

sorry for the double post, but another thing i was wondering about was adding in the sound set for the specific race, not that big of a deal but just something else

this is one of the greatest things i;ve seen so far, except for one problem im having, Im adding gargoyles from the D&D 3.5 monster manuel 1 and the ability to spesify wich feats, racial abilities, and wether it has natural weapons availible to it would make this the perfect tool.
For instance
Gargoyle:
2 claw attacks 1D4, bite attack 1d6, and gore attack 1d6. You really could just do the two claws as 1d8 or 1D6 and skip the others.
Ability: Freeze, but i decided to skip it because it doesnt have much of a use in neverwinter nights
+2 racial bonus to hide, listen, and spot
+4 str +4 Dex +8 con -4 Int -4 cha
Medium size
Darkvision
+4 natural armor bonus
dammage reduction 10

@ Jonthe
Sorry I haven't come back here in (apparently) 3 months to know you asked me a question. I am personally still using game version 1.21.

I've had some good results & to spam this page once more..
I haven't had a problem with the base editor but the .tlk readers seem to not want to save my text & the one you linked i can't get it to not crash.
On a side note my race works but i can only use one at a time since i cant make custom .tlk's at the moment but I have had fun with my frost giant.
I also hand edited the .2da & put in the over ride & i made a fire giant which I used the half orc body with the human head & adjusted the height to 2.05 so you do tower above the other characters but its only fitting.
He's fully dynamic & I also made a brownie as well scaled to .35 human.
whatever i make shows up as barbarian but i guess if im not hosting a mod yet its not that big of a deal-for the time being. _________________________
I like the editor but I have to ask are you going to add functions to this so you can add immunities or penalties? a slider may be an option. for example:
-damage reduction or takes additional damage from certain elements or metals
-immunities box's so they will appear under feats. The user can simply click them.
-paralysis
-poison
-elements & so on..
- can cast spells per day and does not have to go under another archetype(i.e. my frost giant had to be labeled so i chose shield dwarf) but it would be nice to just put him under "giant"
Just a couple thoughts but i know ill have to script some on use items that are given to players otherwise.. _________________________
Can this utility potentially be used to play as an only-appearance-altered "player race" in the Original Campaign? With "Set Appearance" now gone from the Console, I'm looking for a solution. If it can be used in this way, how?

Hey does the z-axis control height? Thinking of a human subrace that got infected by a curse and was banish from their former home land. I want them to look frail and weak physically, but their stats are setup to be powerful charisma base spellcasters.
Maybe in the future updates you could have what type of colors they can have. Thinking of giving this race the palest skin type I can give out, normal human hair color, and drow eye colors for that infected look. _________________________ Yes I am made out of rocks. Now go do something.

Okay that sounds good. Has anyone figure out to add haks to the main modules? Just asking out of curousity. _________________________ Yes I am made out of rocks. Now go do something.
1. Open and edit appearance.2da.
(You can extract it from "NWN 2 Installation Dir/Data/2da.zip")
1.1. Copy Elves line (row index "1").
1.2. Paste it to bottom and change it's row index to "1001".
1.3. Change "NWN2_Scale_X/Y/Z" column values to "1" (Human's size) or to "1.05" (Half-Orc's size).
(1.4. Change "LABEL" to "NightElf", so you can locate it quicky, not required)
Save appearance.2da to Override, add to hakpak, etc.
2. Open and edit RaceEditor.ini.
2.1. Locate the .ini file from Race Editor's folder and open it.
2.2. Go to the end of the file and add following line to it (after "Invisible Man=611" line):
(CUSTOM) Night Elf=1001
2.3. Save the ini file.
2.4. Launch Race Editor and verify it is listed in Appearance list.
----
That's it.

I just thought of some thing. Is it possible to adjust the size of these new races and subraces. Now lets say you are making a d20 warcraft mod and you want the players to play as Night Elves. They would have a elf body type, but would be taller than humans, or at least that tall. Just saying that would be one cool feature to have. _________________________ Yes I am made out of rocks. when i select my new race, the game crashes, is there any way to prevent this?

Works for me and I wanted to make some subraces for humans base on the cultures of the kingdoms they live in. _________________________ Yes I am made out of rocks. Now go do something.
