Edits, imports or exports data from Encapsulated Resource File files also known as ERF files (.HAK, .MOD, .ERF and .NWM).
Can be used for NWN1 (ERF version 1.0) as well as NWN2 (ERF version 1.1).Thanks to tani (for Resource Types list) and K2 (for reporting v1.0.0.1 bugs).

Unlike the ERF editor in the toolset, this one actually packs all the files! Top notch, bravo! _________________________ Brian S. Bloom

i had an idea and i tried it out, so no more problems. after extracting the model files replacing the ".null" extension with ".mdb" returns them to full functionality as far as i've tested. And i'll say it again, great tool. 10/10 :)

Great tool, but with one big issue that defeats half the purpose for me...I can't extract model files from any HAK files, they all register as .null files...what's wrong? This makes it very hard to combine hakpaks and prevent conflicts between them. :(

Does what it's supposed to do perfectly.
Obsidian should bundle this with the next patch.

I'm working on v1002 - it should fix those bugs and add that feature request. It will also add the merge menu/toolbar option. The missing File Types will be added (thanks to tani for the list - I couldn't find it elsewhere).

Found a couple bugs - when you add a file to whatever hak/erf you're working with, and that file is a duplicate: you're asked if you wish to overwrite the file, but on clicking 'yes', the original file isnt over-written. Instead you now have two copies of the same file within the hak/erf. Also, when saving a large erf/hak, the program will sometimes error out and crash.
And one minor detail... this isnt a bug so much as a feature request. Using windows, you can assign your program to be the default executable for files with the erf/hak extension. After doing so, when you dbl-click on a erf/hak file to open it, your program will open, but only to a blank template, like you're about to create a brand new fresh erf/hak. Would be nice for it to recognise the file in question and have it open it straight away.
reinventing the weel? nice gui, though, most of it self explanatory.
you might be carefull with one feature: adding a new filetype to your ini won't make nwn(1/2) understand that type, right? if you do so, you'll probably confuse toolset, game and other tools like worldgate, as they don't know about your additions.

Excellent tool that I will be now using on a regular basis -- thanks! Hopefully you could create something along the lines of NWN2 Mapper plugin next, since the previous programmer isn't supporting it anymore. Looking forward to more professional-looking plugins from you! _________________________

Thx for the quick fix, and it never occured to me to try the drag and drop method. Definitely a tool no builder should be without.
@K2: I fixed it, but it will still be limited to 1463 resources files when using the Menu/Toolbar Add resource(s). So use the Drag & Drop technique to import more than 1463 resources at a time. I could import 10,000+ resources files that way.

Great program... you can use this to import data (any files; I dont see any restrictions, which is great) into an .erf or .hak as well. Might want to mention that ;)
