It includes: Blue Jay, Canary, Cardinal, Dove, Robin both common and European, Oriole, Parrots in red, yellow, green, green and white, blue, white, purple, macaw, and blue macaw, Phoenix, Pigeon, Purple Starling, Raven, Sun Conure and Purple Throated Woodstar.
This hak contains each bird both walking and flying. It includes portraits for each bird. It also contains a polymorph.2da that allows for using these birds in polymorph spells. (this was done so that players wishing to use a bird appearance could modify their appearance to be a bird and create a widget to allow them to polymorph into the other bird pose either flying or walking) This hak's 2da files were made to go with CEP2.1 and NWN ver 1.69.
These birds were created by modifying the seagull models created by Thrikreen. Also, the Raven texture I used from the seagullraven hak listed on the vault. Pictures for portraits were found on the internet.
I believe I am posting an update with the flight heights fixed. I apologize for taking so long, I fixed them ages ago, and have not posted it, because I was trying to get other stuff into it too. Today someone nudged me gently with an email reminder so here it is, I will try and work on it a bit. (cross your fingers that my internet holds for the upload)

awesome. I will be suggesting this to a few friends of mine. I hope that they offer to have your work included in CEP 2.3 whenever it comes out. This is really great work.
Looks like I have found a way to fix the flying height so it is the same as the seagull, and pheonix. I have super-ed the models now that I know what that means and how it works, and I am working on converting the files to dds.
I will need to still test everything and I would like to add a few new ones at the same time, but I am making progress on this again.

Hey there, finally got sick of the default old looking raven/blackbird and went looking for a better one - found this :) Awesome work. If I was to ask for anything, it would be a new look to one or 2 of the raptors (hawk in particular), and some decent looking owls (those in the CEP are a start, but compared to these birds here...)
Either way, keep up the fine work, and good luck with your next release. My 2 cents for how the next lot should be relased - I am always in favour of just updating the existing hak ;)
Cheers! _________________________ *************************************************

I would have to go with Raven_Blood as to the single, inclusive hak and with others as to the addition of mythological birds; as well, of course, making the composite compatiable with the new CEP 2.2. The "flying height" has always been an issue, which will hopefully be addressed, but otherwise I'm sure that no one could find fault with any decision you might make. Good luck with your finals!

any way you couldput in giant eagles in? i would agree wiuth what Mecheon says about mythological birds. maybe some more of those for your next hak would be nice (ie just any kind really... like... giant eagles? lol)
as for the hak, you could just add on to this one and release it as a seperate, but if the file is too small then add the two haks together as one making it much more convieniant for the "none hak combine" users.
btw nice job on the birds, the robbin is nicely done ;)

Well, as before, I'd love a vulture and a blue-ish version of the vulture as some sort of frost-phoenix-ish critter, and another version as a massive grey condor, a Thunderbird (Which I hear described as a giant grey condor nowerdays)
Aside from them... Hmm, a peacock in red and scarlet as the Fenghuang, the Eastern equivalent of the phoenix, a chimerical creature that had the tail of a peacock plus a rooster's crown. And maybe a Peregrine Falcon, just because they're really beautiful animals
Stepping away from mythology, a few interesting birds like a heron? Or heck, stepping back into mythology, maybe a Yatagarasu, the three-legged sun raven. So basically just stick an extra leg on the raven and give it a real strong ambient emitter to make it look kinda like a ball of light from a distance
I am going to start work on a second bird hack in the next couple of weeks (once finals are over) I am at least doing a Peacock, and in the process hope to learn how to animate work and UVW mapping. I will do the peacock in the blues and greens and a white version, from there birds with similar structures to peacocks should not be to hard to do, as well as birds similar to the ones I have already done. If I can talk ThriKreen into letting me mutilate his beautiful owl then I can also probably work on raptors too.
So if you have any specific bird requests of me now is the time to make them. I was not planning on doing birds again so this may be your only shot at them.
Also, I pose this question to you all - should I once I have completed this second set of birds: should I add it to the birds hak that I already have done? Should I make it a separate hak? Should I do both? I want your advice on that. I don't want to clutter up the vault or anything. Now is your chance to chime in.
(mind you I may not look at any of the responses for a few weeks till finals are over)
Yours humbly,
Rebecca Ann

Damm I feel bad about not giving a ten but there was some stuff that could move it up to a ten, one No DDS files, most of the birds seem a little too close to the ground. You could also super most of your birds to one and save on the size of the hak. If you need any help with these let me know. GREAT JOB :)

I would love to do more birds, and probably will, but before I can do any kind of raptor or humming bird I have a lot more I need to learn.
I would also like to fix the flying heights of the birds so that they are not scaled with the size of the birds. Also I should probably alter the parrots beaks.
First though, I am working on a cat hak, a clothing hak, and getting two new campaigns off the ground *smiles*

Id love to see vultures as well, both standing (for feeding on corpses) and flying (for circling pcs in desert).
Blue Crow : (Lenda da Gralha Azul) mythical giant bird from Southern Brazil
Coatl (Mezoamerican Rainbow Feathered Serpent Bird),
Garuda (Divine Indian solar bird, "King of Birds", possibly with holy aura),
Raven (as a Proper Noun it is the North American Trixter God, appearing at times in a similar form to wereravens)
Rain Bird/Stromcrow/Thunderbird (with electric, cloud etc emitters),
Nightwing (large bird of shadow),
Tengu (Japanese Goblin Bird),
Roc, "It was for all the world like an eagle, but one indeed of enormous size; so big in fact that its quills were twelve paces long and thick in proportion. And it is so strong that it will seize an elephant in its talons and carry him high into the air and drop him so that he is smashed to pieces; having so killed him, the bird swoops down on him and eats him at leisure" - Marco Polo (1254-1324) _________________________ Carcerian/Saduj's Submissions: (169 Portrait/Soundset Unlocker) (12 NWN Fonts) (30 NWN Fonts) (Auto-Emotes) (Custom Dragon Disciples) (Dynamic Wildshape) (Keyring)(NPC Schedules) (Sacred Shields) (Spawning Undead) (Shayans Subrace Engine for 169)

These are brilliant, plain and simple. Offhand, if you're thinking of making more, aside from the lower-requested falcons and such, would it be possible to get a vulture, something I've been looking for for ages, and some variety of vulture-like "Frost phoenix"?
Apparently some mythology actually has said frost phoenixes, which are called "Anka". Surprise surprise, I can't find anything on them, aside from this one addition to a random Wiki
