Great hak! Do u rekon u cud do the metallic dragons as well?

Posted by Samurai31589 ( 80.229.xxx.xxx ) at 2004-11-15 12:27:00
This hak is amazin! I found that its perfect for da mod im workin on!
The only problem is that none of da metallic dragons have been done :( Any hope of them in da future?

Posted by Razz ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2004-03-06 01:30:00
Just went and checked the draconomicon, actually the sizes range more like 85-120 feet with the length being able to be up to 25% below or above the average size for each color. I think those dragons seem about the right length including tail and neck.

Posted by Razz ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2004-03-06 01:24:00
Isn't the scaling right? I mean if I look in the draconomicon 3.5 it says great wyrms are around 150-200 feet depending on what color they are. That length is from the tip of their tail to their nose. So wouldnt those dragons be about the right size of they were all stretched out? Maybe my perception of size is really screwed up though heh.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 21 that made this score of 8.68 then rounded to 9.

how do you edit that file?

Posted by Aragon ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-10-19 09:54:00
Evegade,
Did you edit the appearance.2da? That is where I would look first if the models are not appearing.

Posted by evregade ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-09-07 18:58:00
okay i got the critters into the game but i cant see them. they have no model what did i do wrong? i imported erf file and hak is at top of the list. i also put the mod in the mod directory.

Posted by ^Kazuki^ ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-07-05 12:05:00
what I do is i use WinRAR to open the .RAR/.ZIP file and extract the file to the hak directory (for me it is D:NeverwinterNight/hak but for you its probably C:Hak or C:NeverwinterNights/hak) then you open up tool set, under edit click module properties, click the custom content tab, select the .hak you want from the drop down list, click done, and open up creature WIZ... thats IF its a hak file, is its a .erf, then you send it to the erf directory and import it... i dont know what to do past importing it. good luck to any newbs who see this =)

Does anyone have seen the youngest dragons using their breath attack ? If not, you should take a look ;-)

Posted by TJ ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-06-03 16:28:00
It says there is an access violation in toolset.exe how do i fix this

Posted by Sandra ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-05-19 16:02:00
Firstly, I wanted to say that when I posted it there was a "g,d&r" after the "So where's the metallic ones?" in my post below. I made the mistake of using pointy brackets ala USENET and the website software stripped it out. I am pointing this out because it changed the entire tone of my post. I wish I had noticed it before. Not that I could have edited it or anything, this not being a real forum.

Anyway, I've made the copper dragons (it turned out it was copper that I needed and not silver after all) from the white mesh. I see that, unlike with some other program, the coloring is trivial. All one does is use the bitmap supplied with the game for each color of dragon. It's that resizing of the mesh which is critical, and which I cannot do. So, my copper dragons are not quite the correct shape.

I also found that they were oddly transparent until I changed the line in the appearance.2da file to "default" under ENVMAP. After that the proper metallic sheen appeared. I also changed NAME to BASE and STRING to 2025. I don't know if these two changes had any beneficial affect but they did not seem to harm anything. They were the field values for the BW copper dragon as opposed to the ones for the chromatic dragons.

It would do us all a great service if the meshes for the metallic dragons got resized. The filling-in of the properties is not trivial, either, but it is make-work that anyone may do. Using a 3D graphics program is something a little more specialized.

Looking forward to someday seeing copper dragons that are shaped like copper dragons . . .

Ooo, I love dragons. Look at them, all the way from adorable babies to huge, terrifying ancient wyrms. And such nice bright colors, too. :)

So where's the metallic ones?

No, seriously, I'm needing some various sizes of silver dragons. It's tedious to recolor over and over, I know because I did it for furniture for The Sims, but I'm sure we'd all be grateful if five metallic colors of dragons showed up one of these days. ;)

Hey, these would require players to download a hakpak to
play the mod, if im hosting it on a server ya?.. dumb
question, but im not for sure :P

Posted by jrmaster131 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-31 11:36:00
Hey the dragons look cool. I just bought the game and I
downloaded the file. I know how to open the hak file, but
the erf file puzzles me. I'm not sure where it goes or
what to do with it, if I have to open it. As you can
guess, I'm a newbie to this.

Posted by Spudnick ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-03 13:40:00
No matter how I try, I just can't get this working. Can
someone tell me what to do with the other files that come
with this download beyond the hakpak? That one was pretty
obvious and I put it in the Hak folder, but where do the
others go? Not even the demo module that comes with this
is working for me. I'm a newbie, I admit, and would
greatly appreciate an answer from someone realizing that
everybody starts -somewhere.-

Would sure be great if Bioware just gave us the ABILITY to
scale all the creature models as we placed them (both in
the toolset, AND in the CreateObject function. Sigh.
Also, we should be able to change the SIZE of the creature
for stat purposes too (I mean, why can't I have a HUGE
outsider class?).

No wonder so many people got this file,I mean who wouldn't
want lots of dragons?(well, possibly not the players
fighting the things!

I'm sure this hak is fantastic, but when I load the .erf
file into an area and try to add one of the dragons I keep
getting this wierd message saying "Acess violation in the
nwtoolset.exe file". Is there some missing .itp file or
something or am I just missing somthing painfully obvious?
Any help would be appreciated.

Henry, go to Module Properties and choose the hakpak you
want *again*. Also, I hope you went to File and Imported
the .erf files. Hope that helps.

I have a VERY special request, and YOU would be the one
(without question) to talk to about this. I have come up
with a great idea. Tiamat and Bahamut. These classics would
be a wonderful addition to any mod. The EVIL five headed
dragon goddess and the GOOD platinum dragon. On the boards
everyone is talking so much about dragons this and dragons
that, but where are the ultimate challenges? After all, the
name of the game is dungeons & DRAGONS. These two would be
an important part of the experience as a whole. I don't
know of many people who wouldn't want a chance for their
high level characters to have it out with the supreme
forces of dragon evil(and good for the evil little
minions). This is a lot to ask, but many many players would
love you for life (not that we don't already : ). So, if
you would think on this request and get back to us on it I
would appriciate it very very much. Thanx for your time.

I'm trying to use this pack in a module. I place a great
wyrm in the area but when I test it I can't see the
dragon.What can I do?Thanks

Posted by Iavas Neldelas ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-09-22 16:52:00
Bravo. Very nice job. I'm also hoping for metalic dragons,
though.

Posted by Zoria ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-09-13 13:54:00
Planning on making a similar pack with all the Metallic
Dragons? I hope so, I've been trying to find a way to make
them all myself, plan on making a 'dragon city' campaign.

Hey some great stuff there, lllsnakeeyeslll, sorting out
the sizes and abilities. I was wondering if Faerie Dragons
and Peuedo dragons might be on the menu, (as it were)
shrinking the wyrmlings even more and allowing familiars
to be created? What does anyone else think?

Posted by Starkiller ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-09-07 12:41:00
Sorry for the newb question, I'm new to NWN Toolset and all
the apps(Near Infinity, NWN Viewer), but how do you insert
the new mod,erf and hak into the files? Does it go into
the overrride folder?

Posted by Kingrames ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-09-07 10:04:00
Now all we need is a Godzilla.

This was a very cool idea and I'm glad to see that it got
done. kudos to the creator.

Oh, they look great in the mod though!
