Description
This is both my first creature, skin, and 3d model. Therefor it might not be so good, but I promise to become better. These humanoid ducks are inspierd from the Swedish roleplayinggame Drakar och Demoner (Dragons and Demons). Wich apparently is inspierd from Rune Quest. Well wadda ya know! I have now included an erf. file for each kind. Cleaned up some unnesesary files from the zip and fiddeld with the skins a bit. Enjoy and pleas comment these. Only with critics can we be better!
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 8 that made this score of 6.88 then rounded to 7.

Yarr. Just stumbled upon the Ducky thingie. Haven't downloaded it yet, but I'm sure to be pleased.
I agree with almost everyone who argues Grimothy's side and/or like the idea. The people who don't whine, gripe, and complain about something they COMPLETELY have control over ( Meaning, they decide whether or not to download it. It's that simple, people! ) Do people not understand... Imagination and creativity are involved in everything that has meaning? "One man's trash is another man's treasure", or something like that.
Personally, I find this a fine addition ( Or so it seems. I really should post after I've downloaded it... ) to my module ( Which is coming along... slowly. ). I'm planning to use anything and everything that has nothing to do with anything at all, and ducks seem perfect. I've already got 'Creeping Coins' ( Still laughing at the idea. In good taste, of course. ), plus a few other things. True, you could argue that my Module is probably going to suck because of it's senselessness, but that's the whole point. Right?
I appreciate, Grimothy, that you made the ducky thingie. Keep on creating things, and make sure they are slightly random! That's the joys of stuff. You'll never know what you'll find, until... you find it? Okay, I've confused myself.

Good Job. Good to see someone who is willing to take a chance and do something creative. Now all I need is some Broo (goatmen) to build my Glranthan module (Runequest).
Thanks

Well, yes.
It is possible to add an armour to theese little fellas. But i dont think that you can do this as you do with let say halflings, humans and so on. From my experience the armor must be a part of the model. Say you replace his chest with one.
Actually im planning to do that, but since the response maybe wasn´t that great in the begining I was thinking of laying low for a while. Finetuning my skills untill I could do these little guys justice.
So all I can say is thet an expansion is planned, but when I got time to make it is uncertain. This is mainly becaus of my military service, I am rather uncertain when my next holliday is.

This is the story...
"bara ett litet tips för att inte bli utskrattat direkt så
kanske du bör skriva Dungeons & Dragons istället för
dragons and demons.. för de e så de heter på engelska..
ett tips. hare "
Drakar och demoer have nothing to do with Dungeons and
dragons, It is however almost the same as Runequest. Witch
is where the ducks first come from. Dragons and deanons is
a litteral translation of the name
A question though, would it be possible to add armour to
these models. I guess not but can you try and do it in the
next relese. But if this is to hard to implement dont
bother, they are stil great, and i nactully think i will
use them for my mod (a old adventure i DM for Drakar och
demoner)

There are many weird cross over in later D&D expansions
such as Aliens from the film Aliens so give the guy some
slack. (Actually aliens would be quite cool.)Can some of
the whinners model as good as this.

Well, it seems that it´s not only on Swedish RPG forums that there are only two kinds of people. Those who hate ducks and those who love them.
Oh well. Thank you all for you opinions about them, both good and bad.
An update is on its way. I posted it yesterday, it contains some erfs, and some skin fixes (no big ones.
About Drakar & Demoner, well as far is I know it was an all-Swedish rpg. It had little to do with Dungeons and Dragons, lacking level´s. Since, as I know of it was never published outside Sweden (maybe Scandinavia, but I dont think so) the correct translation I think would be the most direct, Dragons and Demons.
Thank you, once again.

You know there are alot of 'official' monsters which look
stupid and daft as well, so I don't see the problem with
these.
And RuneQuest was an excellent game and ducks where a part
of that world.
You guys seem to be blinkered into thinking everything has
to be set in the Forgotten Realms and everything has to be
out of an 'official' book.
This is not so, 90% of PnP games are run by DM's who have
created their own worlds, with their own PC races and
monsters.
At least they used to be, I guess people are too lazy or
too blinkered or maybe lack imagination to make-up their
own worlds and content now.
Next you'll be telling me we shouldn't play on the Lord of
the Rings modules and PW's as 'Ring wraiths' aren't
official D&D monsters.

Hmm, so a duck PC monk would use Quak-fu?

Excellent work!, Ignore the whinners, loved RQ ducks and
loved howard the duck,(comics & movie) keep up the good
work,
one thing thou can you make them alittle more meaner or
even howard the duck looking than rubber duck looking and
maybe a black one as well, just a thought. nice work.
also can you break the body and head up into armor parts so
we can play as Ducks.

"But where in any freaking book have you ever seen
giant humanid Ducks"
In the '70's there was a comic called "Howard the Duck". It
was pretty good (The movie sucked though-I believe in Lucas
who made it so we can blame him at the same time we blame
him for making the last 2 star wars movies so sucky!).
Beside I thought RPG's & D&D were suppose incourage people
to be creative- since when did everything have to be from
some book? That and I guess I never notice how totally
devoid of humor some gamers are...

I'm going to have to side with NeoAeZ on this one. If you
don't like the content, you don't have to use it.
Is there a place for giant humanoid ducks in most modules?
Of course not. But I'm sure that someone can come up with a
creative use for this sort of thing. Many of you seem to
forget that some of the top rated modules on this site
contain quite a bit of humor, and a model like this fits
right into a humerous campaign.
Heck, I bet that if Stefan Gagne made these, or things like
the elemental plane of cheese, etc... And then stuck them
in a Penultima mod, the same people who are criticizing this
sort of material would be all over it saying how good/funny
it is.

To each his own. Content is content is content. You don't
have to like it. But everyone in this community has a right
to make content and post it here so long as Maximus and
Gamespy say its ok. If you have criticism that is fitting
(polycounts, texture quality, etc..) and constructive then
please feel free to post, but otherwise noone here wants to
hear the whining and complaining about whether the artist's
time was wasted. He chose to make them and I'm sure he
doesn't consider it a waste of time.
Posted by DMcF ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-02-27 14:33:00
Hey don't let these people bother you. Who knows when
strange content like this might come in handy. I hope you
continue to make stuff for the rest of us who realize how
much work it is to make content like this!
Posted by Synergy_71 ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-02-27 13:57:00
Here's an idea to put these to use. Say they are costumes
from the local theater, that have been stolen or gone
missing and a bunch of hooligans in duck costumes are
raiding caravans and such. They use the costumes to hide
who they really are, the store owners who don't want to
pay for the shipment of the caravan!
Eh, just a thought to put a bad idea to use.

hahaha som i drakar och demoner!!!!! LOL

Sorry, but I kinda agree with Frank. Damn you mean we have
another useless hak at the vault. I mean I dont want to
harp. But where in any freaking book have you ever seen
giant humanid Ducks. Or giant humanoid Cattle for that
fact. They should make a section just for haks like this
and the Cow Fiend hak. It would be named "The Joke Hak
Section".
Would fit it just fine.
Oh, Oh, Oh, Least I not forget those stupid @ss Chesse
Elementals and the Elemental Plane of Cheese. I mean they
put all that effort into something so stupid, when it
could have been put to use making something more people
needed. You know something like new creatures that are
actually in one of the DnD books. Not matter what edition.
Just something from one of those book would have been
nice. I do have to give this guy one up on the others
though. At least he had to do some model work before he
was done. The Cheese heads where just a reskin. Just like
the plane of cheese they come from.
GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE !!!

I have wanted this for a long long time. And now we finaly
have them. Now finaly can my mod be made.
MrME - Yes, its the same thing as the ducks from
runequest. Drakar och demoner that he mentioned is based
on Runequest.
Will comment when i have seen them in game.
