When a victim is hit by a tentacle, and their strength score is less than fifteen, that tentacle will adhere to the individual. When three of the dharculus' tentacles attach in this way, the victim is dragged into the Ethereal PLane if they fail a save versus Death magic. Here, in its home environment, the dharculus can snack in safety, bringing its deadly bite to bear upon its victim, for 2d10 damage per attack. Here the player may have a chance of defeating the creature upon its home plane, but in doing so, may leave themselves marooned. A resourceful PC can use the tentacles still attached to the Prime Material to return home. These however do not last long, and could leave one stranded anyway. These creatures have an utterly alien pysiology, and it is not entirey sure how, or even if, these creature reproduce.

Description
Just extract the erf file to NWN->erf, and import to your own module. Instructions on how to use the Dharculus are in the erf, and it is very easy and straight-forward. If you would like to see the Dharculus in action, just put the demo module in your NWN->modules. And load it up. The dharculus are swimmers of the border ethereal; however, they have a singular ability to insert their mawed tentacle ends into the Prime Material Plane. These tentacles appear as a swarm of blind eel like creatures sliding through the very air in a deadly school. These are merely the protruding tentacle tips of the actual creature. Following the multiple tentacles into the border ethereal, one would find that they fuse into a single braid, a thick and ridged wormlike tube forming the main body of the creature. The poserior end of the cylindrical body loops back towards the front, ending in a huge, drooling maw, filled with razor-sharp teeth.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 1 that made this score of 8 then rounded to 8.

This was meant to be a unique creature. Only one was ever known to exist, and that one lived close to the Gate within Firestorm Peak. No other creature of it's kind was reported to exist, although it is plausible that one or two may have escaped the mountain and roamed the world. One would never encounter more than a single dharculus at a time.
This is a PnP conversion of a creature. Do not put more than one of these in a module. Bad things will happen if more than one is placed in any module. It is most definitely a unique and rare creature.

I HAD A IDEA FOR YOU TO MAKE A BREEDING GROUND SCENCE YOU SAID THERE ALIEN PHYSIOLGY WAS UNKNOWN WELL I HEARD OF THESE COMMUNITS WHILE PLAYING SHATERED STELL WITH ONE OF MY FRIENDS THEY USE FEMALES MAINLY HUMANS TO REPRODUCE BY INJECTING THEM WIT VENOM ON THE BORDER THEN THEY DRAG THE VITIM BACK TO THE BREEDING GROUNDS THEN SEND A TUBE INTO THIER PELVIS PERMINTLY PARALYSEING THEM I JUST THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR DHARCULUS

Once you've imported the .erf, all you need to do is place the Dharculus Creator into your module; it is found under the Custom ->1 creature catagory. You can attach it to an encounter, or just place it where you'd like the player's to run into the monster. Everything else is ready to go as is. That's all there is to it!

How exactly do I place this encounter? Do I place the tentecles, and a trigger that spawns the Dharclus on the ethereal Plane? Sorry, but its unclear to me...

It's in a .rar file! How do you open these?

Ah one last thing. It is not advised to place more than one of these within a single module. It was supposed to be a unique creature, and the teleportation will not work if more than one of these is present within a module. Enjoy!

Ok. I have just updated the creature. The scripts are now fully polished, and no longer are you required to place a waypoint for the return from the Border Ethereal. I have also removed the bug of the Ethereal Visage effect remaining after one leaves the Border Ethereal, as well as making it more difficult to escape the creatures maw. Everything is now running more efficiently, and is in good order. It should be updated by tomorrow, I hope. ;p Cheers!

It does work. But I am currently working on polishing up the scripts, so; a)You don't need to place a waypoint to teleport to. b) making sure the tentacles on the prime material get destroyed upon death of the Dharculus. c)being able to put more than one of these in a module. I'll update it when I get it all in working order. Cheers!

Updated just today with some screenshots, and fixed a couple scripts. It seems the monster didn't want to transport any one to the border ethereal. It's all working now. And for those who wish to flame or praise, or whatever; be brave enough to put your username and email on the post...
:rolls eyes...

I would, but I have no idea where NWN dumps any screeshots I take. Any info on where they go would be appreciated. And besides, this just looks like what the description says it is; a mass of tentacles which float through the air....

Post a picture, will you? Old module covers aren't what anyone wants to see.
