All of the base classes are represented in our guardian system. A system that allows your character to advance in power far beyond reaching the Level 40 cap.
Altharian Adventures is an Action server, with a unique world setting. We are a Party-PvP world that emphasizes the golden rule of conduct, and since we believe in personal accountability, we don't have an additional list of rules. Because we are an open community, we have a no-haks policy, which allows players to try us out easily and freely. Our world has consistently evolved because of our player base, not in spite of them. We also have a great deal of customized scripting, which adds a depth to character development that goes beyond the heroic, into the truly epic. We encourage you to visit Altharia, and to record your deeds in the Hall of Heroes.
Some special features of Altharia include:
- Setting-based character guilds - these are not RP associations, but game-world guilds that have benefits for characters.
- Custom crafting systems - several of them, in fact. From the Guild Armorer to the Journeymen Forges and beyond, players have an exceptional degree of freedom to shape their characters.
- Character Upgrades - the Guardians of Thanar Rivar have returned to Altharia to guide the heroes of the land. They can help a character develop their inner strengths, whether mage, warrior, priest, bard, monk, or naturalist. No longer is a hero defined by his weapon; true power lies within.
- DM granted stat gains - only the greatest champions can overcome the challenges of the mighty creatures that dwell in Altharia. DM wishes allow you to advance your character's stats to 40, giving you the edge you need to strike hard and true.
Altharian Builders Guide and Mod.
This was the builders guide for Altharia. This guide/mod does not contain the Core Scripts in the Altharia Mod. This is a handy tool for building within the Altharian system.
The entire world of Altharia at your fingertips. This is the NWN mod, Altharian Adventures. The creators of Altharia have moved on to other projects. We leave behind this mod for the entire NWN community to enjoy. Take from it what you will. Please give credit to our scripter Winterknight, the systems in this mod are all his doing. Host it, take it to a LAN party, or store it on your HD as a fond memory of our little world within a world. If you are currently running a NWN server and are in need of some new systems for your players to enjoy, we highly suggest taking a look under the hood.

Hey there, don't know if any of you still check this page, but I am one of the guys downloading Altharia after its "demise", and since I have asked this in other places but got no answer, I now resort to asking it here. Does Altharia have a main quest, a main storyline, a driving purpose, other than hack-&-slashing and leveling?
You see, I am new to all this PW thing, and don't know if Altharia has a central plot or it is just a place to explore and fight.
Any help here would be appreciated.

I see that as of today, there have been 21 downloads of the mod. I know that some of these (if not all) are "in the family" of the former Altharia crowd.
I would love to hear from anyone who has decided to use some of the systems in Altharia, or portions of the mod in another way. It's always rewarding for those of us who spent time on a project of this size to hear what's happened with our efforts.

I've played on this server for well over a year and have met great people and enjoyed the absence of PVP. Areas come and go which keeps it a fresh new adventure. I love the crafting system and the almost limitless ways to enhance my characters. With releveling, crafting, stripping and redoing items, and changing properties from one item type to another the possibilities are not only near endless they are thought out and very easy to learn and do. The DM's personal attention to the players shows more than just a love of the game but a genuine care about the players.
So many things that are so very meaninglessly illegal on other servers are just fine in Altharia. It is such a different atmosphere where folks are just killin monsters and bein themselves instead of some Elf hating Human. Sheesh! What a cool place.

Nicely done persistent world, with some great scripting abilities in evidence. This s a very fast world to level in, and great to learn how to build characters, as you have the opportunity to relevel your characters (Once achieving level 40)if you happen to have made a mistake whilst choosing stats and feats the first time around. And, in Altharia, level 40 is where things get interesting.
The inhabitants are friendly, and all in all, a very interesting world to explore. Highly recommended. _________________________ Tis better to be decieved by friends than to mistrust them.
Adventure, Friendly Players, Quest, Danger, Teamwork, Friendly Players, Active DM's, Wish System, Friendly Players. Just a great world overall.

I was one of the first to play this world and I have seen it change several times through the years. I have never played on a server that had as much content and was constantly evolving at this world. I hardly play there anymore but they deserve a great big slap on the back they entertained me for several years and my kids still play there. I would recoment the mod and playres as some of the best I have ever played with.

I have been playing NWN since 2001 and have yet to find a server that has as much to do post 40 then Altharian Adventures. Great bunch of reg. players, even you YUCK. And there is nothing like nekked runs through Altharian uber goblins.
So when you get bored with your current server cause you reached 40th and can walk around smooshing everything, come to Altharia learn a whole new definition of death. Besides where else can you make a weapon that will crit in the 700's and still have yer posterior handed to you?
Altharian toons will walk around any server and watch things wilt in their wake.

The best server I have yet seen: Great community of players, a fully engaged team of developers and DMs, scaling "psuedo-levels" to 100, innovative crafting system.

I am the great rick damurida...ive roamed the plains of chyrissimianr...climbed the peaks of kyar...through the south lands i braved battles with the mighty witches of the mire...huge hounds to boot..ive come face to face with the lord of the abyss himself ..and slew him and lived to tell.
the mighty dragons of the rift fear my name as do those that dwell in 3 peaks ...zakros hides in caves cowering like apup...i am katmortal...altharian citizen...
Altharia is quite simply the best server hands down IMO. iremember when i first got there in jan of 2006...this world no longer resemebles 12 ds...it is an entirely new world and bigger than ever...still growing infact...anyways the bottom line is this...this place is great and i dont plan on leaving any time soon...come say hello to my toons and i will set your path towards fame riches and the legend you create for youreslf...come check us out..

I've been roaming the wilds of Alhtaria for eons it seems.. not there quite at the beginning but have been there thru most of the changes. This mod is ever-growing and has been fun to be a part of. I know I could not be happy anywhere else.

The support staff are top notch, the expanse of the module is incredible and ever changing, and the community is like one big family. Gaming here is better than any online experience I've had in the last 10 years.

Great stuff. As a long time denizen of 12DS (of which I am still a fan), I'd say that Altharia and 12DS are now as similar as chalk and something entirely un-chalklike

I've been a player on Altharia for longer than I care to admit now. There is not a better mod, community or development team in existence. Period. Come for visit and plan to stay. The mod itself and the superb extra's like the Guardian system will get you hooked. The players and DM's will keep you coming back.

After a complete rework of "12ds" content it is fair to say this stands heads and shoulders above the rest we are still adding more content and intend to work with the upcoming 1.69 patch due out "when they get it done".
