Standard penalty of 50xp/level and 10% of your gold (but people will usually come res you if you wait a few minutes). And if you keep your gp in the bank, you shouldn't lose very much. No respawn penalty until level 4.

There are a few rule changes for balance reasons (spell adjustments, etc.), and you can find them on the website.
KR is a fun, friendly place to play. It's officially "Party PvP," but player-killing is discouraged (I have not seen a single case of it since the server opened.) The world is constantly growing, as we add new features and new zones. We have over 50 quests (with many more on the way). It is a low-magic, Action PW. (The best items are +6, but you can also upgrade and personalize your gear.) Here are a few of KR's features: class-specific items, class-specific quests, class-specific summons for every non-prestige class, bank and item storage, 6 starting cities to choose from (each with different newbie quests to get you started), custom upgrade/crafting system, custom XP system, downloadable map, a custom portraits package (optional), NO REQUIRED DOWNLOADS, respawning chests for rogues (and XP for disarming/unlocking), treasure maps/chests, spell upgrades for casters, and much more!
Best of all, the community is incredible! Everyone is friendly, warm, and welcoming. You can play solo all you want, but if you want to join a party, there's usually someone willing to group up. And someone will almost always come res you when you die, so you won't have to take the xp/gp penalties if you're willing to wait a few minutes.
It is challenging but not impossible. If you want to get to level 40 in one week, this is probably not the place for you.
There is a storyline that can be followed with quests (all the way up to level 40), but you don't have to do any quests or follow the storyline at all if you don't want to. You can just roam the world and hack-n-slash your way to fame and fortune.
Of course, we are fully persisent, including quest status and journal entries.

Wow. I've played on a lot of different servers over the years -- and there are many very good ones about. Kharlindale Realms, however, really is a 'cut above'; it has several features, which enhance game play that I have not seen elsewhere.
- The server undergoes periodic resets, but the players don't have to log out.
- Your quest status/journal is persistent across a reset.
- A 'treasure map' system that provides a separate 'challenge' to the standard quest and hack-n-slash play styles for those who may be interested.
- Loot level is not overly high, but not stingy either -- Kharlindale seems to have discovered that magic level that is 'just right' and which many other servers are still struggling to find.
Overall, I am having a blast exploring the world and uncovering its secrets. Thanks for hosting. :)

server is just fine, "friendly players" some but not so much, poke jabs at the few crybabies there and you be harassed no stop by them
Kharlingdalerealms is the best server online! I have played many and I believe it has the most replayable fun! _________________________ If you usually don't get it right the first time, parachuting is not a good choice!

Just want to say that although its more fighter and rogue friendly then anything else I very much enjoy Kharlindale thus far. I would give it a 10 vote but the fact that the best builds for the world seem to be fighter classes with little in the way to let a straight spellcaster shine his best I have to vote a little less than 10. Otherwise Kharlindale rocks and the overall setup is wonderful. And I still HIGHLY recomend Kharlindale as a must for Neverwinter fans!!!

Four of us have been on Kharlindale for about a year now. We had been playing on another server, Neversummer, and had grown tired of the Ultra-Uber weapons and characters when we started to look for something new. We didn�t want a server heavily laden with all sorts of Hak packs. That�s when we stumbled on to Kharlindale and have enjoy being here ever since.
At first magical items are hard to find and drops are rare. I suggest creating a single character and building them up to at least 20th level. Depending on the class your character is determines your starting point. Look for and following quests is you quickest way to raise levels. Also checkout the Kharlindale website for more specific information.

So pleased I stumbled onto this server. Brilliant intro quests for all character classes. The community are extremely helpful as well. I couldn't believe the vastness of the world. It gives you a real sense of being part of a larger world, rather than being stuck in your own bubble. Big thumbs up for me. I have been playing NWN since its inception. I have since stopped playing any other server. This is a great server with lots of room for advancement. I have had the most fun here, more than any other server. I play as much as I can. The players are helpful. No worries about getting good gear for newbies, we all help where we can. Many quests that are reasonabbly obtainable if you are the correct lvl and have the gear to bash some heads. Come visit Kharlindale!! I stumbled across this server like I do every other server by just trying out new ones I see in the GameSpy lists. In the 5+ years I've been playing this game I have never seen a module so well balanced as this one is. Most servers available have a real problem with the XP vs. GP balance. Either you level so fast that by the time you can afford the equipment you need, you no longer need it. Or you can get millions of GP, equip your toon with everything you could ever dream of wanting, and then can't find any critters to get the XP you need to move onward. The GP/XP balance of this module is absolutely perfect.
Combat balance is also very good. Although I have mostly been playing solo, pretty much every step of the way I have been challenged by the battles without being wiped out in a single blow or wading thru hoards of enemies without a scratch.
I have to also commend the builders on their implementation of the quest system which is awfully well conceived. Broken up and tailored towards different classes and progression at a reasonable speed with a decent amount of variety and very reasonable rewards including unique items that cannot be purchased anywhere.
I can't recommend this server more. Easily a 10 vote from my perspective. I'd vote 12 if I could.

Very enjoyable server. You can be yourself either in a RP mode or just as an individual playing the game.
PC's are very helpful and willing to help.
Starter quests and a Server Theme Quest that progress's as you do.
Overall an addictive server with a good core group of mature players.
Only reason this did not get a 10 was it is a little light on NPC driven quests but there still are enough area's and adventures to captivate even the most discriminating of players.
