Arcana is a world of fantasy and magic. Born of harsh elements, forged by the gods into a living place of danger and adventure, here is where you seek your fame and fortune. Here the boundary between the prime material plane and the elemental planes is weakening. This weakening of the veil has changed some of the creatures that inhabit Arcana. They have developed elemental attacks or resistances, or strength beyond that of there lesser cousins. The weakening, as it is known to scholars, also allows the summoning of powerful elementals and other denizens of the inner and outer planes.
Peace has reigned on Arcana for over 200 years since the great wars that were propagated from the evil Angaren Empire far to the east. Little is known of a new threat that is growing, slowly, patiently. It has waited many eons for this coming moment in time, where it will once again be loose on the world.
I think its very important to know, and its not mentioned here, or in the entry signs or journal entries that this is a PERMAD server.
You get 5 lives (if you don't have a raise/ressurection buddy) after 5th level.
While I agree that people take death too lightly in an RP environment, I never condone PermaD unless player initiated. It just causes too many conflicts.

After years of playing nwn online, this has always been a server I keep finding myself coming back to. A fantastic server with a unique setting, excellent roleplayers, great DMs, and a friendly atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the start.

Not only have I had the best of times playing here at Arcana but I have been DMing here fo over 3 months now! It is a pleasure to have such a well made mod to work with but it's the people who stand out the most. I have great fun playing with and running events here. Arcana will always get a 10 vote from me...thanks to all who make Arcana such an awesome place to call home:)

Fun place. Lots to explore
Great player interaction.
Lots of DM activity, along with evolving storyline.
Love that it has both DM and player run events.

I don't realy know how to describe it but I know where I feel comfortable. I was well met:) on this server and I wish I had found it when I had more free time last month. I realy dig the age group( close to mine) and every PC I met so far has been helpful...in tell's when staying true to alignment.
What a fine world to explore...and you don't need to die several times to get started...unless you realy want to be foolish. A fine PW model for other's to follow! Thank you folk's at Arcana!!!

Lots of fun, great playerbase. Weekly events that use your characters storyline. All the players are very friendly!

A very friendly server where you can make friends easy. Cooperation is wonderfull between players. Many quests to be done and roleplaying is good also.
