Arvale is reminiscent of the early days of NWN, when players were optimistic, friendly to one another, and worked together for the betterment of the server. It amazes me that I hadn't heard of this server until recently; but I can say, without doubt, that it is the nicest, most accessible server I've been on to date.
The players and DMs are all very helpful, the roleplay is excellent (though sometimes on the "RP Lite" side), quests are frequently run, the website and forums are superb, and they even have a handy downloads section to spruce up your game if you wish.
All in all, I give this server a 10/10. Shadowswift deserves so much more credit than can be given here, because she continually works on the module and improves it. Player feedback is heeded, and the server has an organic, vibrant life to it due to all the cooperation.

I would honestly rate Arvale a 10/10. It is the best server I have ever gone on. Aside from the CEP, it has build in additions so people can just click and play (no Haks to download). The overall server combines great RP with amazing layout of the lands. The scripts in the server is also amazing. There are many scripts ranging from just the basic emote system, to the HTF system, to the way ale affects people, and many many many more. I love playing on Arvale and anyone who joins would be welcomed with open arms.

Arvale is a great server, clean setted. There isn't any sibering in the middle of the road. It is strict mature RP that is always fresh and creative. Its a none bias server that contains a surface and drow area. It doesn't matter what class you chose to play, as long as there is a good standing of how you have aquired to be the way you are. There is constant RP, and for new comers' its not hard to get started. There are plenty of low level areas as well as high level areas. And the server contains many well rounded players in itself. _________________________ Life is what you make it, so make it right.

Fantastic areas and good scripting, combined with a friendly DM team that are very approachable, unlike many other servers lead to a very good playing experience.
Would reccommend the server to anybody looking for a relaxed RP server with depth and a good history.

Arvale is a server with a dense and rich history, even so, it is player-made.
The range of knowledge achieveable In Game is vast and you often find yourself with only superficial knowledge of something after more than a year on the server, new things keep popping up, and old things being "rediscovered".
For a player looking for a world with loads of history, content and challenges, I strongly recommend this server.
The process in which you can advance through levels and in RP fashion is shaped freely and thus you can relatively quickly make yourself a known name, or a legendary figure in one of the many guilds or on your own.

Buiding is outstanding, superb and skillful. I love how the server is always improving and responding to players needs. The realism adds incredibly to the experience with the feel of low magic and gradual leveling adding to the role play. Then later as you discover the lands and your skills high magic opens up to you, but you feel as though you have earned it and its not just handed to you. I would recommend this server to anyone who loves to role play, dislikes power leveling, and is looking for a persistent world that is on its way to being among the best.
Comment pardoned, Quicksilver, but I don't know if the first still stands, so I will respond to it anyway.
With the upgrade to 1.69 and CEP 2.1, Arvale has had some performance issues (even causing some players to crash before they manage to load specific areas), as with many other PWs/modules, but it's not CEP. Granted CEP has some poorly made models, but 1.69 is to blame for the latest spat of "lag-inducing placeables".
Most if not all of them have been removed now, so it is no longer a problem.
Also, would it kill you guys to put map pins on the damned mini maps so we have some idea what's around. Baring that, could you AT LEAST make sure that stores, etc., have placards out front?
Frequent, incredibly hard staggers when loading up new visual range information in the same area. Happened all the time in town. Watched sever ping go up and down a bit each time. Can't imagine what it would be like if there were anyone else on. Would be immediately fatal in combat (we call it DBL (Death By Lag). Check those scripts, gents, and ask yourselves "Do we really, really need that high poly bit of CEP over there." Has promise, but needs some work.
On a lighter note: no chain shirts at the beginning caravan?
