Description
After three years of work, we are proud to announce that The Way Inn is now open to the public.
The Way Inn is a roleplay persistent world set into the Sword Coast area around the small village of the same name. The server covers the area from the Delimbyir River in the north to the Winding Water in the south.
Features include:
- CEP 2.2 and custom HAK required (easy to use one-file installer)
- Level range: 1-20
- Alignments: Any
- Races: All standard races (unusual races with DM approval)
- No class restrictions (multiclassing restricted for Paladins and Monks), prestige classes requires sponsorship (for example, a Divine Champion must be accepted by the appropriate church)
- Low magic (+1 common, +2 rare, +3 findable but extremely rare)
- Dead players leave (non-lootable) corpses that can be brought to temples for raising
- Bleed-to-death system
- Medium monster XP, XP awarded for role play
- Medium leveling speed (a bit faster at low levels)
- Lots of highly detailed areas to explore
- Lots of dungeons for all level ranges
- Six new prestige classes (Dragonslayer, Cavalier, Kensai, Sword Dancer, Spirit Caller, Hexblade), modified standard prestige classes (Champion of Torm is now Divine Champion, Dragon Disciple can choose color)
- Lots of new spells (for example, Water Breathing, Leomund's Secure Shelter, Mass Bulls Strength/Cat's Grace etc, Polymorph Other, Weather Control and more)
- New feats (for example, Two-Weapon Defense, Detect Evil for Paladins)
- Base classes adapted for DnD 3.5 rules (as far as it's possible in NWN)
- 1200 unique items (you won't find any standard NWN items)
- Over 1000 all new monsters (all made as closely to the Monster Manual as possible)
- Ridable Horses
- Armor/weapon look modification without skill check
- Player houses with persistent (look retaining) storage and mailboxes
- Lot's of smaller details, like persistent map pins, writable books, scheduled NPCs, per character preference settings (like, turn off stone skin effect if you don't like it), travel system (caravan/ship routes) and more

This server is so much better than any I have played on. Excellent RP, delightfully present DMs, beautifully designed areas ... simply awesome.

I have been playing on various PW worlds since 2002. This is by far the best designed world I have ever seen. The rp is excellant as well.

Best RP game I have EVER played. Amazing details and so player friendly that you can jump in to it from the second you start playing.

Wow. just.. wow. DM's, players, areas, design, features. Just amazing work. Nothing is ever perfect but this place comes very very close. I really can't say enough good about it. All i can say is, take your time to really enjoy this place. the amount to discover just boggles my mind.

Great attention to detail, very friendly DMs who care about the work they've put into the server as well as the players who participate. Some of the best quality RP I've seen. Come in and have a look.

Server is one of the best servers I have played on so far. The area's are beautiful and the DM team is very experienced. Many amazing scripts are in place to make role play more enjoyable. And don't forget player housing and horses as well. The Way Inn is definitively something I would advice to other players.
All in all its a great place to play.

I've been playing on The Way Inn since it went out of the beta, I think in August 2009? The layout reminded me immediately of Baldur's Gate due to the freedom in the exits around the map, and the scaling dungeons keep all dungeons a decent challenge throughout your levels (though obviously you won't get level 20 kobolds). The world is beautiful and detailed, and the new prestige classes add a great new feel to NWN. I highly recommend this PW, and definitely think it's worth a try for anyone looking for a place to play with many fine RPers.

This place is truly amazing! I've been to many servers and many PW's, but this one has been so far the one that has been made with the most care and competence. You will be taken away by the shear beauty of this realm and it will give you a powerful experience of mystery and excitement wherever you go.
There's a lot good things that can be said about this place, but I only have an unlimited amount of letters to provide to this comment. I will only say that I cannot express how much I adore this server; it has really made a lasting impact on me personally.

The server is as said, rich in content. All of the areas are true works of art. Also, the custom styles of weapons and armors not found anywhere else, made for TWI only, are marvelous, you can really customize your characters outlook in the game, like you could never before. Furthermore, you get to use several fighting styles, so your character gets an even more unique look when in combat.
TWI is the server of possibilities, and I recommend it for those, who want challenge, funny people to play with, and some seriously good Roleplay :) I give full points.

TWI is a vast server rich in content, areas, and beauty. Few people will EVER get to a point where they feel like they have seen all there is to explore (I'm talking people who have played for a year or more!)
This place is worth a try, and deserves all kinds of praise for the amount of effort that has been poured into it by the DM Team.

The DMs are involved and reasonable. There is plenty of documentation to help acclimate new players. The expectation that players will role play is made plain, and there is PLENTY of explorable content.

A well-crafted, continuous "world" where every area, monster, ruin, story just flows something to and from each other, lending a true sense of continuity. It has returned and revealed my true addiction to this game.

I can only agree with all of the positive reviews here. Really the best experience I've had in all my time playing NWN. This is exactly the sort of server I was looking for: mature, friendly players who take their characters and RP seriously, wonderful DMs, and a breathtaking world. I want to make a particular point to say that this is probably the most impressive world I've ever seen made with the NWN engine. Extremely detailed areas, built so carefully and organically that you forget that it is a tile based engine. The world is not only beautiful but huge, and full of challenges from the beginner to the seasoned hero. That's not to mention all of the new Prestige Classes, and many little touches which really enhance enjoyment: tents, firewood, being able to fish, skin animals and sell the skins, the list goes on...Anyone looking for a great place to play for a month, or a few years, this is the place.

A truly outstanding server built and scripted with great care and skill. Beautiful landscapes and locations, exciting and very atmospheric dungeons, interesting players and very active, friendly DM staff make TWI a place definitely worth checking out. ^^
The server covers a wide region with a vast amount of areas. New content and bugfixes are added on a more or less regular basis. _________________________ ~ You can't take the sky from me ~

A truly rich and beautiful world, by far the best persistent NWN server I've encountered.
The community (players and DMs alike) are friendly, helpful and welcoming.
New players may find themselves a bit overwhelmed, and the learning curve for new characters can be quite steep, however rather than being liabilities, these facts help foster the community by forcing players to work together.

A lot of attention has been lavished on the locations & the layout of dungeons.
The various systems used (death, traps, travel, health etc) are also conducive to having fun and foster good roleplay.

The module is still expanding and some areas are getting the last tuning and i must admit i'm very impressed!
The landscapes, the towns, everything!
The game world looks so real and fantastical. It is a very fine place to play.

Worth a nine nicely. The module is extremely beautiful and it features many enjoyable changes to the default NWN system.
The DMs and players are extremely friendly, which is always a huge plus.
By far on the top 3 of NWN servers. :)
