Cold Shadows is an epic persistant world set in a land of dark sorcery, betrayal, intrigue and history. Designed for roleplayers who want to experience a truly 'epic' setting, it features over 400 areas utilizing the enhanced graphics and beauty of the CEP and other custom content from the NWN community.
Play as one of 30 new classes and PrC's using more than 30 new feats and 80 new standard and epic spells courtesy of the PRC.
Interact with 7 different nations, each with their own cities, history, and culture, as one of 14 new races.
Create and imbue items of power using a revolutionary crafting system.
Cold Shadows has EIGHT DM's in America, Europe, and Austraila providing player support on an individual basis.

I know it was a long time ago, and I didn't read through all of the posts after it, but regarding the whole epic feats at level one problem...
2da's are used to do this, on the clients side, the character will not be flagged as illegal and you could stop it via script, by checking on enter if they are < lvl 21 and have any epic feat. The 2da's only allow the player to give themself an epic feat at creation though, which I believe was said before. _________________________ Link

CS went down due to some (as I understand it) hosting difficulties. I'll leave this link up until I get contacted by the people at Athia to delete it and take it down.

Coldshadows is officially closed as a NWN realm. We are now working to create a comprehensive NWN2 realm. Would be nice to know how to contact you guys. Its interesting that a group with so much to offer fail to post a location to where one can join. Please let us know so we too can join the fun.....
Also, you might want to consider changing from dwarven halls to CTP dwarven halls, as last i heard there were a few walkmesh issues, and the CTP team was likely to have fixed these. I do understand that it will require a lot of work in order to do this.
How in the world do I join your forums? I don't see a "register" button, or anything like it, anywhere on your site.

Well, I don't want to get into some kind of argument over rules, but one of the benefits of creating your own PW is that you get to set some of your own rules (rest, death, xp, treasure, etc.), as any DM would set their own rules in a P&P campaign. If one of our DMs wishes to boost a player stat for excellent RP, we want to be free to do that (which we can't with ELC). That being said, any player caught with obviously hacked feats and stats will be immediately banned from our server (automatically if the ability stats are outrageous enough).

I saw it before it went down. It was basically a forum discussing a tool that allowed client-side hacking of a first-level character during creation which would allow adding of epic feats etc. These kind of things have been around for a long time and there's really nothing we can do other than have a little DM vigilance. I suppose we could try to create a script checking for every possible cheat, but that would be overkill. Of course, enforcing legal characters would also do the job, but I find that too restrictive.

We could do that I suppose, but this module was designed specifically for multiplayer use with significant interaction between players and DMs. Extreme modifications would have to be made to make this single-player friendly.
Also, the module requires NWNX2 (Fast French vesrsion) with a MySQL database in addition to all the haks if you want to load it on your own system.
We plan on developing a NWN2 player world, so hopefully, you will come see us when we're up and running with the new game.
Could you send a module one day to play it alone after releasing neverwinter 2 ?
Because i think all the people start playing nwn 2 and the servers with nwn 1 will run on nwn 2 and everybody forget these modules . I know it's a hard work to make persistent words , it's just a question.

Alrighty, this last few weeks have been rough, no one will argue that. Here is what we have:
- A great custom world
- Tons of new races
- Great Storyline
- High interactvity with DM's
- Excellant community and forums
Here is where we are currently focused on:
- Increase player base
- Increase DM count (online)
- Fix Community noted bugs (forum and game)

What can I say? This is a great world and it just keeps getting better. All of us on the DM team and the Dev team are working hard to bring more life and more fun to Coldshadows.

Greatly deserved 10 by the CS Team.
The world is simply beautiful and as most people say "Nothing is Perfect, so I will not give them a 10" well, where you're wrong is that people can strive for perfection and -that's- why you give them a 10.
The administrators/dm's of this world are -very- -very- receptive to Suggestions and try to implement them.
The playerbase may not be there just yet but it's because the Module was in developement for a very long time before opening it's doors.. well, now they're open and all of that development shows!! Huzzah!

Challenging lower levels with excellent rp to balance. Amazing area layouts and custom everything. An excellent server that I highly recommend.

I just want to say this server is amazing.
If you want serious RP, come here. The DMs are the most accessible and involved (and brilliant!) I've seen anywhere. I love the new races and new take on old races.
I can't say enough about Cold Shadows.

The 'CS Design Team' is a wonderful collection of individuals, including our server owner, Eldron, but also including :
Spherrow (sulric areas)
Choirmaster (scripting and many areas)
Skipper (shade elven areas)
Serion (many areas, including Khalzun)
Rune (scripting)
Smash (some areas)
Task (Asgorath)
Spiffles (Water Elf Areas)

The servers have been up and running on a T1 for more than a week now and it should be a couple more weeks before all the hardware rolls in. I'll keep people posted. Seriously, the dev team has poured a lot of effort into this mod. and the storylines.
We are currently working on upgrades from a hardware prospective. I will be moving the servers to a t1 within a couple weeks and we are also working on getting an over hual done on the forums, to better server the community.
If you havent joined us, please do, you wont regret it. If you already have jumped on, then lets here your story.
