Heavy role playing Naruto Server. Pvp and many events are done through a dice rolling system. Lots of villages to chose from...as well as bloodlines and clans!

I've been on the server, and while the people who run it and play on it are nice enough, I'm here to give an honest account of my experience there, while trying to be as constructive as possible.
Scripting: The first thing I have to comment on is the scripting, as I myself am a scripter. When I say I need to comment on it, I mean I need to comment on the lack of it. The amount of scripting that has gone into the server itself is somewhere between minuscule and non-existent. The scripts that I saw during my month or so of play that were there at all didn't function properly. In fact, the systems were so atrocious, it really ruined the entire playing experience for me right from the start.
Area Design: Some of the areas are designed fairly well, others, however, seem to lack any design whatsoever. The areas that showed design were well done, and actually fairly immersive, which I will certainly give credit for. However, these good areas only go to create an even starker contrast with the areas which lack design, and hence, tend to really break the atmosphere in my opinion.
Role Play: The server itself seemed to give me the impression of being content with the player base it already has. What I mean by that, is that I got the feeling that the long time players don't truly feel much of a need for newcomers, and have a tendency to discard them. Of course, this certainly isn't true for all of them I'm sure, only my experience which was, admittedly, fairly limited. Beyond that, however, the players seemed nice enough, and they certainly weren't poor roleplayers by any stretch of the imagination.
Final Notes: Overall, a few things really destroyed the experience for me. The first being the scripting, which, as I mentioned before, was awful. The second, was the dice fights. Why people do not understand this, is beyond me, however, I will once again state the truth. The dice bag was never designed or intended to simulate combat. It does not perform this task well either, and no matter what rules I have ever seen people come up with, these rules never do a good job of accurately representing the characters actual abilities. I understand that the idea of role playing the fights is what people thrive on, but there is no need to rewrite the rules of combat in order to do that. Create a dicebag designed to simulate combat. Or better yet, simply use the already existing in game combat engine, and then Role Play the fight out either during or afterwords. Just because the combat is visually represented does not mean it should have to limit the players imaginations. Am I the only one who remembers the days before CEP, where everyone wore the same 5 outfits? Yes, it's nice to have all the extra appearances, but the game is limited by its content. Your imagination isn't. All you have to do is use it. Using a broken set of rules in combination with an inadequate tool does not make you a superior role player, it just makes a mockery of the game mechanics, and frustrates to no end people who actually take the time to understand those mechanics fully.
