1. Avoid the shout channel as much possible. 2. No random PKing - keep personal disputes to a minimum 3. Do not denigrate, belittle, or otherwise harass other players for any reason. Respect for other players IS required, please. 4. Other than that...most exploits have been taken care of.
How you got here was a crime, how you'll get out is a mystery. So you may as well make yourself at home while you are here searching for that elusive way out. Change is on the wind, what it heralds and how it will affect you remains to be seen. This server is designed to be a challenge, to make you think. Kicking in doors is not healthy. Its hard, but not HCR. Resting, as far as this PW is concerned, is to bind wounds or meditate on spells - no resting restrictions except in certain areas. No permanent immunity items and powerful items are very very rare. This server was designed to give the player the freedom to play as they see fit - no restrictions or pages of rules. Roleplaying and/or powergaming is welcomed with open arms. While not a roleplay-specific server, we do have DM-run RP sessions. Update: We are using CEP package stuff, and just incorporated the PRC Prestige Class Package - 40 new PrCs and loads of new spells!
Will require CEP pack plus 4 reasonable hakpaks. ADWTilesethak006 ADWMischak001 ADWCEPPRChak2 ADWCEPPRC2da1
Aye the .tlk file is within one of the .rar files. Guy below probably did the same thing I did and just unzipped it directly into the the hak folder without looking. Anyhoo, looks like a decent world, it's not my thing but it may be yours.

By far the best server I've played yet. Even though letting the players govern themselves can be risky, so far the player base is mature enough to handle it. Great job on a server well built. Gotta love the rabbits. I like the fact that lower level characters are separated from higher level characters. Good idea.

I've been playing on this world for over a year now and by far it is one of the more friendly and open worlds to play on. The world is nicely planned out and there is plenty to do no matter what level you are. Great server guys! Thanks for all the hard work!

csproule...all I can say is you must not have explored much if all you mainly found was wildlife on the Tortolousa side as well as the Outlands.
You are right that there is no teleportation system besides at resets, but for good reason, it gets abused..I have played at over 80 different PW's in the past few years, and I have not found one where a teleportation device wasnt abused by someone.
Besides the DM's at ADW want you to explore and find all those neat little things tucked away, like Goblin Pirates and Chiefs, Gnolls, or say that Cleric in the Tower that will kick your butt in no time if you dont use stratagy, or perhaps the Hag who always has something interesting in her chest!
No there are not alot of people on all the time, but thats because most of us have lives, so weekends, evenings for those of us in the states and early am's (states) for our UK players, so there is usually always someone on, and mostly everyone is willing to help out new people, even those that are still relative new themselves.
ADW has alot of very unique features and the PRC just adds to that, with DM's who have very few rules and players that are always friendly and helpful its a great place to have fun without all the restrictions that most PW's have. Its pretty simple, follow the rules there are, be good to each other, and have fun! Oh did I hear someone say Islands...islands, mountains, what was that about about Tim?
So come see what new, unique and interesting things you can find at ADW. Its is huge and its still growing, and with what I've seen so far and what I've learned of the DM's and Players, its only going to get better.

This world has some positives and some negative, like all worlds in the Multiverse.
The PrC support for this world is impeccable, however, if you make a mistake whilst in the womb, well, you got to trash the character and start again.
The world is full of dead areas and wildlife, I felt like I was on Earth rather than a fantasy world. I was hacking boars, badgers, wolves, rats, spiders and rabbits to pieces. Occasionally you get some goblins and ogres. The treasure chest system is good I think, it is a bit fake, but hey, it is alright. One of the more fun areas for me was the tunnels.
So this is the games as I see it, kill vermin in kings garden, walk around dead area after dead area, bump into a town called Trestles (or whatever), go into the tunnels, have fun killing non-wildlife creatures, think wow, this world is getting really good, leave the tunnels, and continue to wander dead area after dead area again. Well, I had enough.
I was bored and some guy said I should partner with someone similar to my level, no shit, like I never thought of that. Well, not many people play the world and no one was my level. You can't teleport to each other even if you do partner. The world is massive. The creator loves forest, maps and maps and maps of forest, and grass, and hills, and not much else. I felt like a hunter and trapper rather than a fantasy character.
"Duh Daddy, can we go wild pig hunting, we got to eats ya know". If you are an armchair pig, wolf, rabbit or bear hunter, this is world for you. If not, find somewhere else.

I posted a comment before this vote, so pls refer to that posting as it is way to long to rewrite; but I highly recommend this world for players of all types.

This IS a really great world that is far too under-played. As stated, all forms of play are acceptable from RP to Powergamer. All the areas are pretty level compatible with what you will be by the time you reach it. If you pay attention to what the locals will tell you, you'll find hints of what to expect around the areas. And regarding the "rat quest", the guard capt tells you straight up that there is no reward other than what you'll get by selling the pelts.
Anyhow, I don't feel the pw is too empty. It ranks well with other pw's I've visited; and the low side is meant to be just that, LOW (no mixing with the higher levels to prevent inappropriate muling of too high powered items), so the encounters are scattered somewhat but not difficult to find. By the time you reach Trestles (if you've cleared most if not all areas), you'll be at the proper level to enter the outlands, where things really begin to get dangerous AND FUN!
The DM does NOT have a GODDESS complex (love ya C); but sometimes likes torturing . . . errmmm . . . testing out new critters on us to gauge their power and effectiveness. This is done out of fun, not spite; and is usually compensated or rewarded in some fashion with a special DM favor or two at some point when you're in a jam.
ANYWAY, come on in and join the fun!!! Use the shout channel to ask questions, np, and someone will probably respond if not logout and return with a lower level char to help and guide you. I give this world a 10.creator: FR Deity-favored Wpns hak
I'd get a life, but they cost too much. ;P
In regards to the "major god complex" incident - that was our DM (and my sweetie) Cel. It was a 1-time incident and I think most of our players would agree that all involved with ADW have a VERY LIGHT TOUCH as to swatting PCs for misbehaving. Everyone should be allowed to have a "bad day". The other to consider, that people might not have been aware of in regards to that particular incident - is that we DO have couples and families and people of various races and orientations - and we want any and all to always feel welcome. Perhaps Cel felt your language wasn't appropriate AT THAT TIME because there were some of our other players' children on the server at the time. Cel is a mom herself - so you can understand if she gets a little protective of little ones.
As for us being empty - Honestly I don't promote it much since I feel it should have MORE stuff - more areas, more critters, more stories & adventures. But I guess at some point you have to say "OK" and put it out there.
re. Empty screens - I should go back and redo much of the "newbie region", but I've got my hands full adding new stuff for the higher level players... if only I had more time and more hands! *sigh*
re. Quests - see below. In post-newbie areas (Outlands and beyond), there are "storylines"... as to getting XP and rewards for following the storylines, well thats open for discussion (upcoming areas will have "rewards" that then lead to other things). Honestly - we wanted to avoid the whole "Fedex Quest" thing. The player makes the world, as opposed to the other way around - and some of our players have developed their own storylines as applied to their characters and how they fit in the world)
.......despawners to "clear" areas - we took those OnExit events out and used another system)
Traps - We've cut down the "detect traps" time on boxes to 2-3 seconds. The traps are also geared to character level.
Quests - We're trying to get more quests in, especially in new areas. The issue I've always had with quests is the "repeatability factor" kinda strains credibility after a while, and have been exploited in some cases I have seen on other servers.
Dracop - thanks for the feedback! We appreciate any kind of feedback, good, bad, or otherwise.
As for specific issues:
Skies - We use the HotU system now, and while easy to use - it is rather disconcerting to see sunny skies above dark fog at midnite. I agree, but am hoping for a Bioware fix.
Respawns - I understand what you are saying here, but - there should be SOME kind of penalty to dying. Having to plow through that dungeon again is one of the penalties. I've gone back & forth changing respawn times and despawn times - and in general - the respawn times there now are there to prevent exploits (like using OnExit despawners to

Server provides alot of action and there are areas you have to use strategy. It is a challenge to get certain drops the boss have worse than dealing with Monty Hall. It becomes a quest to see if you get a certain item. It is a good way to unwind without a lot of rules you have to follow

I have to agree with the previous poster - very empty spaces of trudging through empty screens with the same monsters. There is no "portaling" or other means of transportation then walking, gets monotonous when you have several screens.
Totally agree with the other fellow, I suppose it isnt easy to script quests, but some kinda completion would be nice.
I have to ad this though, and this is the biggie. One of the DM's has a major "god" complex.
It really takes from enjoyment if you are hassled for something you said in PARTY speech, when you know the members of the party. (Basicly one of the other members was harrased, I assume for a joke he had told, as *I* was actually swearing more then he was) On top of this this was the first time I'd actually been ABLE to party.
Server does well as far as lag and such, technically it seems to run well. Server is largly empty, whether from the "goddess" or the empty areas I dont know. In my case it's the goddess.
Lose the extra DM, setup a portal system and I think you'd have yourself a good server, empty areas notwithstanding.

Great Action PW; let my score speak for itself, try it, you might like it. ;)

Hello, I was playing this server for last couple of days and wanted to leave some feedback before I moved on.
- Skies: Its weird to ahve a night/day cycle and the same sky all the time. You end up with situations where its a dark tileset with a beautful sunny sky above you; I spent several real life hours in this situation.
- Respawns: Mobs respawn way too fast. Every time I die in a dungeon I have to re-fight my way thru the same spawns I killed 15 minutes prior. Its excessive imo. Set the timer to like 30min or something.
- Traps: WHile the custom trap thingy is nice, it takes way too long given the way you guys setup treasure. In several of the dungeons Ive been in, you guys did series of long rooms with chests all over; if I tried using the Trap Tools on qall of them, I owuld lose several hours. Also, the traps are far too strong. I was killed 5 times today in about 1.5 hours; only once by mobs, the other 4 times by traps that were way overpowered given the treasure they were doling out/overall level of the area. Also, I never got around to testing it, but does Find Traps spell remove these custom traps? If not, you should consider toning these down quite abit - not everyone is a rogue who can get through these, and there simply havent been enough people online to really form a real party.
Quests: NOt sure if its bugged or what, but no one ever acknoledged any of the quests I successfully completed. Case in point, when I killed the rats, the Guard Captain never ackgnolwedged it and I never got a quest reward - despite thouroughly cleansing the entire garden of stirges, rats, bats, and badgers. Panda never acknoldeged I had her pendant I just neded up having to kill her as a result of lack of other conversation choices.
Overall Game World: It feels very empty. It needs more life, things going on. Most of my time was in Kingdom early on, so I dont know if the Outlands changes this much - but my overall impression was of a world in which nothing was happening minus myself. DIdnt really feel like a world to be honest, felt more like a blank slate. You need more quests, you need more NPC interactions as well PC-NPC interactions.
ANyways, Im off to try a few other servers. On my end, I am searching for a home so to speak and it seems PWs are very hard to build and run judging from experiences so far. Best of luck to you guys!
PS: Also, please put in a Holy Hand Grenade for those Rabbits hehe (Im assuming that was your inspiration).

I'll have to agree with you Skidoo, love the world, but those rabbits have left me somewhat disturbed... =)

Well, I finally got the haks and I must say that this is a very well constructed world, But I'll never feel the same way about rabbits ever again. Give it a try!

The hakpak link contains two links, I needed to manually fiddle with the address to access the file.
