Description
Dreu Noctem is a unique world. While the world is focused on action, alignment can matter in some cases. Magic is heavily customized and extended with EMS and new spells. There is custom item scripting to support our deities.
You need to sign up on the forums to get the password and direct connection information. People typically form a few large parties, which makes it easier to ask more experienced players for help. The forums are also a good way to get help if you're not familiar with the world and are feeling a bit lost. We try to be a friendly place for new players, and people looking for just a fun starter PW to hang out on.

Note: to be fair, the "over 24 hours" thing was probably an exaggeration. My best guess is about 20 hours since I tried to register. (Have tried to have it resent multiple times over the 20 hours)

I would absolutely LOVE to play on this world, however it seems that the e-mail that I should be sent to validate my account doesn't like me. I won't vote until I've played, but I find that I must register and wait over 24 hours for an email slightly annoying...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts guys. As a adirect result of your suggestions, we've removed the player password from the server. We're also open to changes to the PVP system if more people start using it and have some requests. For now we'll leave it as is though.

Cool server; like being able to choose whether or not to hack-slash diabloesque when I'm just on for boredom or work at my crafting skills by cutting down a few trees.
Interesting place to play, sort of like a NWN 1.5
Better then the other servers I've played on mostly, but there aren't enough people most of the time! Remove the password - it will fix things

If you are looking around at the best servers for a new one to try out, Dreu Noctem should definitely be on the top of your list. I've been playing on this server for just about a week and found it to be one of the most seamless, immersing, well scripted worlds I've ever played. It definitely deserves its top spot on the Hall of Fame.
Like the other players have mentioned, this server is truely incredible, and makes you feel like you are just one adventurer in a real world. The plethora of in-game books and odd cultures is also a nice touch. The npcs cator to your pc in ways previously unknown in nwn, and the intriguing mind puzzles are always a nice treat. I haven't experienced any PSP's yet, but they are definitely something to look forward to.
Mostly, its the atmosphere emotes scattered around the world that really drew me in. The wizard performing at Paradan City kept me entranced while waiting for my friend to finish shopping for goods. The npcs combine traditional feelings about dwarves, gnomes, elves and the like with more modern ideas. Be prepared to find many hilarious examples of modern satire and other easter eggs scattered every which way. The dm interaction is a definite plus, with intelligent dms spontaniously forming quests using npcs in real time (this happened to me my first day here). The playerbase is excellent and very friendly, probably one of the best I've seen.
The only two points of contention I have are that the server is passworded, and thus unavailable to be seen on biowares' world search. This probably contributes to a far lower player base then this world really deserves. The second issue I have is how pvp is worked here - there is an underground arena black market of sorts, but otherwise it isn't allowed by design. From how I understand it, it seems like this is wise especially when there are few players on and no dm mediators. However, if the server ever removes the password, and starts getting a constant mainstream audience of players, I'd really hope they would consider removing the pvp limit, atleast temporarily, to be able to see a abrupt rise in interest as characters compete with eachother, cause political intrigue, and rival good/evil organizations form. The major appeal of any online world is its player player interactions not player vs ai. Last but not least, the many superbly designed custom spells are definitely well designed to aid character vs character roleplay, so I think this would be a big + in the future.
Anyway, excellent job design team - you definitely earned this vote!

Great sever. It is my very first and only NWN sever I go on. I love DN. My father reccomended it to me, and I do it to you.

I've waited to vote until after DN qualified for the Hall of Fame on the strength of support from other people. I've done this because I build and play and admin at DN. However, I've been there almost 3 years, and so I think it's okay for me to cast my vote here now after all the time I've spent there.
DN is home. I have good friends there, a lot of fun working on odd projects there, and a lot of fun slaying dragons and liches. Cheers gang - thanks for the great times!

Lots of fun. Very friendly community, lots of good fighting, and a magic system that achieves what Bioware couldn't in 3 years - magic that actually works.

If the game was about JUST what appears on the screen, then might as well solo disconnected from the world. Dreu Noctem however has a personal atmosphere, an ambiance of warmth and fellowship and is about the PEOPLE who play within it. Wanna solo online? Sure, you'll be welcomed with the same open arms and assistance as you would if you were the missing cog in critical team play. The world's not too easy, nor too tough, nor what you expect... =;^)

DN is my first experience with a PW, and I gotta say, they set the bar very high.
The DMs and the support folks are very responsive, often fixing reported bugs and nits within 24 hours, and they are willing to entertain debates on changes to various bits and pieces that make up this unique place.

Well thought out and designed for Party Play.

Awesome place. My NWN home.

Well, I'm slightly biased since DN is my home. But I love the place. For anyone wanting a fun and challenging place, this is it. It's a small world but we work very very hard to keep it interesting. Much thanks to the whole team, but especially Shadguy for doing the bulk of the work around the place.

I really like this world! The DM's are very dedicated, the players are cool and it is a great balance between solo and party play. So many worlds force party play by placing unwinnable areas but DN does a really nice job of encouraging versus forcing team play. Great job guys!!!

If you've ever wondered what it would be like for Never Working Nights to work, then, come take a look at DN. Plus it's very well balanced, feature packed, and the people are cool.

Great people, great server. I've tried many other servers, but DN is what I consider home. A balanced world, playable solo, but geared for parties. Stuff gets fixed all the time, and new additions pop up regularly. Try it!

Been playing this module for nearly two years now, and I'm still hooked. Very friendly (and active) DM's really enhance gameplay. Two thumbs way up!

Dreu Noctem is the Best PW that I have played on. From the Custom Spell scripts to the heavily modified ATS system. This place has something for everyone. The builders are constantly adding things to make the world bigger and better.

This is the first NwN server I ever played, and even after trying others, I still keep coming back.
I think that says enough.

First server I ever played on, and even after trying out others, I still keep coming back. I could waffle on about how good it is, but I won't. Check it out for yourself ;)

I have been involved as both a player and DM at Dreu Noctem for about two years now. It's a highly playable world with a Huge amount of area to explore, everchanging and expanding. The players are great, very helpful - even to NPCs :-) Highly recommended for those who like a friendly, interactive place with a ton of content and some great battles.
