The web site is currently down due to a server crash, but the game server is still up. This issue should be resolved shortly.

Oh....actually...the link that Rettere posted is also the correct one..only it leads directly to Exarias forum.

The link I posted above leads to a new vault entry that I made about the server.

Exaria2: Safehaven is now up and operational, although still working through various bugs, policies, server issues, etc. Currently the world is very hard to get around in, as bandits and beasties control most of the travel routes. See the extended FAQ in the Downloads section of Link for important info on subraces, half-races, class changes, skill changes, & spell changes, as well as loads of useful history and background info.

The original idea and concept were great, but unfortunately things fell flat after execution. The majority of the server is still occupied by vast and empty spaces with absolutely no meaning behind them, and the environment is such that cliques and social groups entirely dominate all aspects of life.

Still the only world I will ever give a '10' ... at least so far. Also the only world worth actual RL years of play.

Exaria is THE BEST server I've ever been on. It allows you to level up and get powerful... but more importantly, and the reason I play, is that the storytelling is EXCELLENT. Absolutely perfect...

...with its own deities, stories and lands, the ideas are limitless. I play as several characters, and they all have something to do with the cooler then FR deities...

Rykoth Tullius, Paladin of Avalon.
Tyloroth, wannabe undead Priest of Raad Painbringer.
Tauren Bearclaw, Gurath ((custom subrace)) Barbarian
Gorath, Half Orc Ex Angrenost Traitor

Alot of rich history and custms...alot of nice guilds. If you like RP...definately come here.

Exaria has been around for over two years, and one thing is for sure: People become very involved in it!

You can even see a example by one of the rare perma banned players below! (Zattonna's post) She just can't leave Exaria alone! =D

Exaria is going to be around a long, long time. We even have plans for moving the community into NWN2 without a hitch when it hits the shelves.

Addtionally as intrest in NWN1 slows down, we are taking steps to cultivate the world into a fresh and exciting place that will last into NWN2.

Some of these steps include a new TWENTY member builder team who will be creating a wide variety of areas, scripts, systems, scripted quests and more. Addtionally the HakPak is about to get the "best of the Best" once again becoming that mod that everyone checks out.

And finally, whats always on everyones mind: How many DMs and quests? Answer: A LOT!

Exaria is a world where you get out what you put in really.

Want to be invovled in quests, great rp and cool guilds then get stuck in. Want to bash pixels... go right ahead.

So many very awesome people here i have made some great friends in such little time.

Exaria is still going through alot of structuring work in some areas... a new server is in beta phase. the 3rd server is being balanced... a new trap system... more dms being trained... new player groups springing up... so much stuff happening... and when exaria starts to dwindle exaria 2 is already being talked about... run by the same great staff and hopefully featuring the same awesome players

Keidric is here to stay to bring us awesome persistent world goodliness in buckets for years to come it seems... come join us now and you won't leave!

I've been here nearing 10 months and went from a player who knew no one, got involved in nothing. To a player who is fairly well known, joint leader of a guild and regularly involved in storylines and awesome rp. Plus you won't forget your first meeting with some of our most respected players (divine servents and other well known characters).

I like Exaria, great server, lots of RP potential, great playerbase. Just a few reccomendations.. For one, make it easier for a new player to get started. It's rather hard for a newbie to learn the ropes. Another thing, I'd like to see more general NPCs (ex: deer in the forested areas, commoners in towns) and some NPC quests. Again, great server with lots of players to make RPing awesome.

Great server, good player base. Very good potential for RPing. Good world with lots of areas that can be used for DMs (that's a good thing!)

I have played in many HC rp servers and sorry but Exaria

really dont have it what to takes to be such server.

I suggest you move Exaria to PW action...it whould describe

it better.

Things have been "balanced" on exaria to avoid exploits, but nothing has been "nerfed" Changed spells and such to apply balancing fixes to bioware issues and overpowered abilities. Exaria's team of devs including the Big K have done a great job in this.

The loopholes you speak of are on most servers (1lvl of monk for ac) and are considered "cheese builds" on exaria. They are being dealt with as far as I am aware. Don't expect respect from the community or staff if they are used in the mean time.

As for dull and empty, I assume you are european and should be made aware the player base is predominantly from the US so most are active during those play times. But even so there are rarley less than 20 on outside of this period. *shrugs*

As for the comments on DM activity, try getting involved in storylines rather than waiting for a random quest to fall into your lap. If you put in some thought into your RP you'll find DM's are very responsive. As for the skills of those DM's.. Another round of DM training has just been completed and we have another fine crop of DM's to work alongside the longserving. Both of which display great Rp talents along side their ability to balance npc's/monsters to players.

And as for "if you don't like RP, don't play here"... I say again, try heading to town centers and getting to know people rather than trying to strike up conversation with people swing axe's. Whilst the killing grounds are not bereft of RP it is somewhat difficult to argue the finer points of philosophy whilst being beaten around the head by a giant. :P

Whilst Exaria's not perfect.. Bear in mind nowhere is and you'll be hard pushed to find somwhere better than this.

TO be honest with Exaria. I used to play on this server over

2 years and I am very disappointed. Server is nowadays full of powergamers of everytype. Exaria have had the PG problem always but my latest visits had been terrible experiences.

Also one of the biggest downsides are lack of active DM's.

Active quests are extreme rare events and they are usually

b-class dm:ing at least in my very experienced scaling.

Most DM's seem to have mortal characters and they play them and rarely master the game.

Level layout of Exaria is not remarkable, most "sunday"

NWN builders can make such area in couple of hours.

The monster Tweaking and balancing the rules are the

propably the best features out there. Seems that staff

has spend countless of hours using their nerf sticks and

trying to make game harder and harder.

Powergaming is not restricted but the class modofications

are made so that most common loopholes are effortless.

Exaria is big, feels dull and empty, best part is core players who really bother to RP.

If you like powergaming and ability to play trough epic levels and slow character progress play here, If you like

RP dont play here.

The best server out there. I have been playing Exaria for almost a year now, the people and the DMs are like one big family. Great fun, good interaction. I would recommend this server to all!

Ive been playing on exaria for almost 2 years now, and to be honest ive not found a better PW. Lag is virtually non existant, the sheer number of players is amazing and play is uninterrupted (the servers are always up).

Exaria caters for all types of player, you can stand around for hours Roleplaying, or just pick up a sword and go kill, the choice is yours. Treasure and rewards are low, you have to work for anything in exaria which makes anything you own feel like you earned it.

bottom line, people can tell you how good it is all day long, but the only way to find out if its for you is to log in and play.

(little side note to the people who hijacked this to advertise their PW, namely vallacon...i DMed your world (which is built by EX-Exaria powergamers by the way) and you guys wouldnt know RP if it bit you in the +blocked+. if you like playing where the dms give their own players charactors uber items and LETO'd stats, play on Lorima, if you want to play a world thats fair, unbiased and fun - choose exaria.)

I have been in Exaria for about 18 months, and I love the world, the community, the roleplay, the forums.. There are quality in the background history, the possibilities with playergroups, and participating in the developing of the land. I have made friends there, and enjoy meeting them to play as often as I can.

The challenge appeals to me, also the player base is very mature. (Of course being a public server this can't be 100% but all the more impressive considering it's public.) Changes are slow to be implemented but always taken care to be done right, keeping most in mind the concept that a world that encourages solo activity just isn't as fun. Low lag levels impressive especially considering the number of players. Having played a lot of different servers, I always conclude that all things considered this one's the best I've played. I would give it a '9' because my standard for perfection is very high, but seeing the high ratings some servers have got that I know for a fact are inferior, I'll go ahead with the '10' here.

Can't say enough about how great this world is. It's very tough, but not unreasonably so. RP ranges from not required to among the best you'll ever see.
