players loose xp and gold INSTANTLY on death. raise dead gives some back, ressurrection even more back. This is to insure death is 'felt' without tiresome deathrealms and downtime.
ALANGARA is a rather big roleplay/adventure server. You level up fast at start ( to give you a playable character) and then it slows down. ALANGARA offers a blend of groupbased questaction and a change to play singlestyle exploring a graphically detailed world with stories, quests, hidden treasures and all those things many of us have enjoyed in Pen And Paper. Long has it been since last ALANGARA was breathing with the life and visions of the original creators', but soon it shall be so again...
Seeker ( the original scripter ) and myself ( Tarashon, the original builder ) have been working a few months now on rebuilding the module to a "fitting state".
As such after putting up CEP 2.2 ( we will likely go 2.3 before launch ) more than 1/2 he areas have been either heavely revamped or Totally recreated from scratch taking advantage of the new CEP tilesets :) . Also loads of new areas and quest are being and have been added allready.
Tons of new scripting is taking place - basically the intire scripting is being remade for better performance and gameplay so for instance the old questgems are replaced with databases instead.
Some alterations in which classes are allowed and not will be made whereas other classes have allready receved a considerable boost, such as Bards, rangers and druids who now are quite capeable of singleplaying :)
Will not say much more now other than we are working hard on the improvements and at this time it seemes plauseable that the server will be ready withinn 3 months or so som sometime during the spring we shall start anew with the continuation of the questline and life in the Inner Realms after the great cataclysm when Zertihn ( God of Just rulership and hope )opened the Inner Realms before AO and the counsil of gods...

hmm find it a bit strange that Alangara reborn, on different hands with different DM's, Different rules and areas can live of the votes cast from before the change.
quite a few that votet for the server when run by tar, have left to start up "spirit of alangara" and have started a new server post here on the vault.
Wouldnt it be more fair if the new management started the votes from the beginning ?
but then maby im just biased ;-)

Its a great world really well thought through with good quests and great players. There are several new things in it that makes rp'ing there more fun than other servers i have tried.

This is a great PW, i like solo playing but also big raids, this server provides gameplay for both.
The players are helpfull and always willing to answer any questions you might have.
I like playing here, the roleplay is great and the world is large with lots to do.

Excellent areas, beautifully made, a playerbase that is friendly AND helpful, DM's who are always willing to answer any questions you have. Some really great starter quests to set you on your feet in the world, and some very neat ideas, such as farming and eventually, becomming a Reborn.

Not much to say that hasn't been said already, but I must say that this is the best server I've ever played on. The world is beautiful, and is constantly growing. You can tell the world builders put a lot of time and effort into it, and not only that, but they actually care about what their players think. No PW has ever captured my attention and kept is as long as Alangara has. It's definately worth a try.

Very diverse combination between hack n slash and role play. Plenty of quests and the residents for the most part are helpfull. Active server it will be rare if you log on and not have another player to converse with live. Very enjoyable

Hello all, I give this PW a 9.75 out of 10. First off, the World is stable (thats a huge plus). Second, the Staff is awsome and very friendly. Third, The world is very nicely done. It has lots of areas and allows you to do many things. (Own a Farm, House, Castle, Your own Lands, etc.) Fourth, They have a Guild system already in place and yes you can make your own Guild as well. Fifth, The players are friendly and not only are willing to show you around but, they well actually help you level up and get items. (Thats a major plus)
I am very happy to call Alangara home and I am sure you will to once you visit us. See you in game, Raistlin The'Arcane.

This is the best server that i ever played...
You have great freewill of roleplaying.
The players that you will find here are helpfull, and they are very good roleplayers.
You will find stories made by dms that low and high levels can participate all depends on your role.
Then is the play. there is allot of quests and areas (always getting bigger) to explore allong the way.its so big that you will have to be on many months to see all!
Here you can even have a farm.getting money farming and fishing,if your tired of fighting.
So aa a, for all tastes module, this is a must try for all.Im sure no one will regret it.

Well after a few years work on this server i really think it is becoming what i dreamt of when i set out. Also a great thank to my co-owner Seeker for his enormous help, without him it would have not been possible, and finally all tyou plauers honoring us with your choise and becourse you make the world come to life...

Hello.
I have been playing Alangara on-off for the past 4-6 months. It is a very good server, with many, many interesting players and the opportunity to choose to either slug it adventurer style, or go deep immersion RP. It's monsters are, IMO, a bit too tough, but this seems to be on purpose, since group style adventuring is heavily encouraged.
