Hybrid Lord of the Rings, is a world based on Tolkiens Lord of the Rings story. However, there are some twists and turns, and other areas of the world that are not reflected in the books or movie, hence the name 'Hybrid'. Many custom scripts installed, to ensure an exciting experience. There is also a Custom Player managed guild system in place, for easy creation and management of guilds, and your own guildhalls and guild armor.
I know the chances of anyone replying to this are slim, but what happened to Hybrid? I remember playing there a bit some years ago, and tried to look up the website recently but it seems to be down. Are the folks planning on making a NWN2 server or something? It *did* have some pretty weird people, but I keep a good memory of it...

extremely hard sever to level . low low gold and item drops at start. At level 5 I hard managed to acquire 2400 gold and lost every bit when I died.
The community seems to be a bit harsh also. I shouted one time in game to ask a question and received at least 10 private tells asking not to do that including 3 which contained swearing.

not a terible module, but since it lacks the RP'esque feel that it claims to have, and its soo easy to make illegal characters with almost no built in checks to stop it, pvp can be very imbalanced so the gap between PvP'ers and RP'ers is huge.
if your a self respecting player who enjoys fair pvp above all else, i'd suggest you avoid this server at all costs. But if your a relaxed gamer who doesnt mind losing fights to illegal characters with 200 Dexterity, youll have fun, the world design is slightly above average, with lots of NWNault systems in play..

Two powerful servers linked together sharing a common database. There are personal merchants, a Deity system, Guild system, transport system, rideable ships! There is a socketed items system on this mod too, where you can create your own items in addition to the modified ATS crafting system that is available.
The DM's don't play chars here. This is a RP server that has heavy action. There are almost 100 reincarnation choices for players. A great community supported by a talented team of scripters.
Highly recommended.

Played Hybrid lotr for over a year never got seriously boored the server had countles updates cool stuff cep was in among first servers if not the first one!!
List of pluses and minuses:
+Awesome DM team that aren't alloved to play only dm.
+Allways evolving system.
+Best guild system i seen.
+4 sides to choose from. like Druids, Mercenaries, good and evil.
+rules that dont leave holes or exploits.
+Allmost every day events.
+Reincarnations to keep you intrested.
+Balanced items.
+All classes are wanted and needed in PvP situations that happen in allmost epic scale.
+And many many more things i cant make list of=)
-The druid/mercenary factions HARD playing including hard to get items or exp in start.
-Evil factions lack of changes to RP.
-The crafting system could update sooner or later.
-changes of making long minus lists...
But overaly best server i have found (and i have tried many many many servers)

MASSIVE! I've spent days exploring this great server and i'm still finding new areas. The developers have taken a basic Lotr Mod and have updated it, really making it their own with tons of custom scripted quests, enhanced tradeskill systems, all backed up by a truly great and friendly player community. The DM's are wonderful and are forever setting things up for people of all level's to participate in. The balance of RP and H&S is just right making this server a must try! I firmly believe this is a wonderful server. Always something to do, so much fun and excitement, and it's great to see just how involved the DMs are with the players. Hybrid has quickly become my favorite server to occupy, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend at the very least checking the server out. ;)

Ever since I started playing on Hybrid Middle Earth I haven't been able to stop. A wonderful server, there is always fun and excitement not only with other players, but the DMs as well. The DMs involve themselves with the characters quite remarkably, and maintain the overall Hybrid environment spelendidly.

this site offers an rp rich environment, that is constantly changing. New areas are being added all the time as well as new forms of game play. Site offers a nice easy user friendly world.
DMs and sever owners are always open to new ideas from players and use them when they can. DM events are run every week, many times more than once.

In my opinion it is a great server. I got a lot of fun there. I play over three month and it is still exciting. And I do not see the whole map. For me it is the server no. 1!!

Best server I've ever played on. Perfect mix of RP and PvP, so it's got everything you could want. Don't believe me? TRY IT! :)
Amazing things here, so many unique add ons to the server you won't know what to do with yourself. I've played nwn for a while and played a couple different servers, and I've never seen anything like it.

A Very fun server and i would give it a 10 if some of the issues on it were fixed. Such as lag, disbalance between evil and good, a recent lack of events.

Hybrid is ever changing with the most dedicated DM´s around.
The guild system is awsome the maps are aswell definitly worth a try.
And its a great mix of Rping and battles of middle earth.
Definitly a place you stay and enjoy some places just have that certain touch of activity.
Others can be totally dead and with no felling when you enter .
This one makes you want to come back .

I've been playing in Hybrid since way back in their beta. Beta was so much better because... Uh... No wait, beta wasn't as good as it is now :P
If you like Lord of the Rings, but don't want to be caught up in all of it and feel like something new, yet still keeping to the world. This server is for you. It has some strong role players in it, and it has some poor ones, but what server doesn't? ^_^ The staff here are simply amazing. Sphere, Hulk, Black Knight, Yoda are all good and worth a talk with. But yeah, enough talking, time for sleeping. Go play here, heck if you don't like it, you don't have to stay, but at least give it a try. ^_^

Have been playing a very long time now here @ hybrid, i even donated money for their services! It's a kick @$$ world, good DMing and nice quests! Not to forget the guild system.
Lots of new stuff coming in on a regular basis, bugs filtered, some spells and other items got nerfed/enhanced to balance the chars a bit!
Recommend everyone who wants to roleplay!!
