The 3 mirrors of AI: I could wow you with all kinds of things that sound great but AI is pretty simple. What I can tell you is that this mod has been up for 2 years and we have players who have played for this entire time. AI is judged not by content but by its players. The average player has many characters, some have 50+. Each DM is proven with thousands of hours of play and an average age of 35ish. We are old school players who sat in rooms in the mid 80's throwing dice. Once you start AI, you will never leave it for another module, our players play for hours and hours a day. Our players have donated over $3000 US dollars to the module which has resulted in some good server equipment to run the module, maybe you will to after you get hooked. The module is pretty large and since I have never played any other module as the creator, I can tell you that it is unique and once you start, you will spend thousands of hours playing... I hope you guys have found the new island server under new management. Angelina is the new owner from info given. It's the same Island but harder bosses and same genius crafting syatem. I was a top cratfer along with a few others, Emercus , Dakon etc. I am Sorden and hope to get back to server. Spent a lot of time on the server and it was one that kept my interest for quite a while. Not that it needs my vote as it ha over 160 as of this posting, and is in the Hall of Fame. One of the better servers I have reviewed.
I spent so much time on crafting. I finally got half way decent at it when someone gave me a sword that was much better than I could make. Go figure.
I cannot find adventure island . i was a long time player and now the sites are down. If anyone knows how to get ahold os silvy please let me know.

Lots of good features, like crafting and factions.
Quests for good and evil.
Many, many areas to explore.
Occasional DM'ing, though sometimes it seems arbitrary.
A few unfinished quests, broken conversations.
Yet another module designer that does not understand how SR works with items.
Final quests only possible for shifters and extremely min/maxed melee combat PC's.

For all those feeling the heat on AI, know that the world is but a shell of it's former self. I started playing there about 2 years ago, and stopped 6 months later after I witnessed continual abuse of the player base by Silverti and some DM's. I recently logged in and not only has absolutley nothing about the mod changed (Silverti announced he would no longer work on the mod), but the player base has decreased substantially.
As long as I have been in contact with Silverti he has been deleting negative comments and banning users over trivial issues. Further, he then goes on to claim to everyone that 99% of people love his world, because they can't see the comments he deleted. It's disgusting and hypocritical. There were SO many threads and comments deleted that I witnessed, some not even having anything to do with the mod.
It is worth noting that the mod is fun to explore for a few weeks or month. Very quickly it gets tiresome as the world is actually not very big, and the management attitude gets to almost everyone I have known. If you're looking for a truly big and engrossing world, or one where the DM's are actually normal human beings rather than power tripping player haters, try some of the top rated worlds, many are fabulous.

If you are finding the water to hot on the main server, come play on central, I have found the DM to be very helpful, rescuing a deleted character after I had an ongoing glitch with my computer.
Very friendly players who are mopre than willing to travel half the MOD to rez a fallen colleague.
If you do come to Central and see Teli or Ramin say hi

sign me up for the club. i was bullied by linwood just a few months ago. he totally got on my case just because i dropped an item on the ground. i am a peaceful player and when i tried to explain why i had dropped the item is when the trouble started. long story short he treated me as if i was a 10 year old child and was very degrating to me. i have real problems with the way he treats people when he tries to enforce rules. so im joining the club. sign me up for AI players against linwood.

Greetings, and well met to all who read this.
I am an avid AI player relatively new to this mod, I have played on many other servers and have several comments to add here.
First things first, AI is hosted on 3 servers out of some 1000 servers to play on, if you dont like then it then leave. There is nothing worse (IMHO) then a person that feels they must ruin my gameplay time because they are not enjoying thier's. That said i can go on now.
I'm a 30 something avid role-player, playing since the days of Basic D&D with whole sets of dice, back then the trip to the mall for us was to get the newest dice that looked gems, and the latest Monster Manual just printed last week, and we didnt know what skills and profiencies were, we just role played all of that. From there to G.U.R.P.S. to M.E.R.P. to AD&D 2nd ed. I think I've played em all.
Here at AI i have found the following, a relitively large (130+ places to venture into) playing field with nice detail, A crafting system that applies some form of an honest days work to be good at, we dont have 1st level script kiddies making +9 broad swords, and true crafters can be proud of thier work cause thier items are rare and there are no drops from monsters to match em that I have found so far.
The combat and story progression flow hand and hand, PvP is encouraged in a role-playing fashion of the end-less struggle of good vs. evil here on the island, not as mindless bashing as some belive it should be.
My favorite part however is how well rounded AI is, my girlfiend and the children (6 and 12) all play here as well, and have a blast of a time, this just goes to say that seasoned and novice players alike have something to find here.
All of the other players I have met play at different levels, some are crafters, some are bashers, some are hard core and role-play everything, some dont role-play anything, all of them however love to play the game and thats what makes it work so well here. My 6yo has no clue about crafting and doesnt chat very well (typing is improving though) he has fun, the 12yo thinks its awsome that she can make her own potions here and the other players help her out when she has questions about how things work.
I hear people complain that the mod is "broken" all the time, I don't see it, granted there are several flaws (some trainers dont work, and some items cant be dropped or sold), thats not broken, its a work in progress, let it get finished before you call it broken.
In summary I think AI is an excellent place to play, most the people are friendly(the people, not necessarilly thier chars, you have to remember some people role-play evil VERY well), there is something for every char type so its well rounded and the atmosephere is laid back and not rule ridden, and there is enough of a respect level here in the chat that is family appropriate (thats hard to find these days you know) so as a player and a parent I say keep up the good work and "Game-On!!".

I've tried playing since the incredible decision to delete Bhao�s and Joe�s characters over such a trivial argument (there were much better ways to resolve this) and for me this server just isn't fun anymore. I cannot support a server which bans people and deletes character vaults from a simple argument, a server where a DM and creator harasses and belittles players, a server where the creator would rather make insults and give smartass answers to questions and comments from players, a server which cowardly deletes forum posts which are critical to its staff. So I will also be leaving this server and encourage anyone else who has had issues with Silverti or Linwood to move on or speak their mind.
I place most of these ill feelings towards Linwood who, through his poor attitude and hypercriticism, has instigated this whole chain of events with his over-the-top strict enforcement of the server rules (which he often breaks himself) with no concern for the players. I agree that rules are to be enforced however Linwood�s methods are questionable at best. The rest of my ill feelings are to Silverti for making very poor decisions on handling the situation with Joe and Bhao who have been influential and helpful to everyone. This server will surely feel the impact of there absence.
On leaving I want to make a call for Linwood's resignation as DM. I have seen so many people leave because of they way he talks to players. I have witnessed so many complaints lodged against him that I cannot count them. GB.Lordz is correct when he says DMs represent the server as a whole, and Linwood makes this server look very bad to new and old players. Linwood, if you want AI to be the best place on the net to play NWN then you should give up your status as DM and leave this server.
The best part of this mod is the people who play here which will not last long with the way things are being run. Today�s posts should provide a warning of what�s to come to any of the newcomers to this mod.

I would agree that this is a great NWN PW to play on, great areas, great quests, and great players. Unfortunately this is where the greatness ends. The world is no longer being worked on (no bug fixes, no new content, and no finishing areas which are half completed). Also if you play there long enough you will soon find out one of the dm's and its creator will find some way (maybe not on purpose) to make you sick enough that you will leave all those great things behind. It�s my turn to leave and another half dozen are leaving as well.

One of the Best PW I have played in, the DM's interact with normal players, take over npc to add game content. A battle between good and evil with roleplaying on the side. I have many characters I play constantly in this world. Come and enjoy the fun.

I have tried other mods, and have returned to AI. The player base is solid, the servers are mostly solid, and it's a great environment. And let me tell you, when you need a break from killing, the crafting can keep you busy.

I remember when i start i AI, The small general store, when 10 players in it where making the building explode... each time i logged in, there is always something new, always someone working on this MOD, i can't imagine another way to play Online NWN without AI...
