Currently, there is only myself as the head DM and try and run 'events' on the weekends. In time, others will be asked to join the ranks after proving themselves as a valuable player and strong member of the community

Death
When a player dies they go to an alignment plane designed specifically for them. For level 1 players, they lose no xp and may return to the living as many times as they want. For level 2 and above, characters are limited to 3 lives per server reset. This is to prevent a revolving death door for players. However, characters can revive their fallen comrades by using raise dead scrolls, casting similar spells or dragging the body to a priest of similar alignment. Upon death all characters lose their unequipped items only. Players will not lose their equipped items which can be used to help regain their stash. Persistent banks are active, used, and strongly recommended for players for precisely this reason. The amount of xp lost on death is measured from your total xp amount and not just the level. Furthermore, you will never lose a level from dying. Death has a harsh bite in this world, but not a permanent one.

Montlethia was by far the best low magic PW I ever played on. I loved it from the day I stepped foot in Port Gilliad. Then I was honored to server as a DM for 4 months until HCR and other code stopped playing nice together.

It was VERY interesting but unf. the mod broke. Corrupt or script problems brought it to its knees and it is no more. RIP Montlethia... *sniff*
I wanted to give this world a shot but it seems all the links etc are dead ends...whats the scoop? Is it still up?

Great PW. Good player base and Dming. An absolutely outstanding build with an amazing attention to detail.

I have played NWN since it came out. I have played through both Bioware modules, as well as countless others. Everything started to get old hat. This PW incorporated a good craft system, but its death system was Ghetto, that PW wasn't stable, the other one was never updated. I had lost interst in NWN almost completly. Almost sold my soul to the God of FPS....anyway.....
Then I discovered Montlethia.
If you have ever dreamed of playing on a stable PW, Montlethia is only down for updates and restarts. If you think that new areas and DM controlled events sound exciting, come find out. This world is always fresh, always exciting.
But the part that has set Montlethia apart from the crowd is the Pc's that inhabit it. I have met NOT ONE...um...UNPLEASENT person. Everybody is friendly and if not, it is because they are roleplaying their PC. Everyone and every alignment is welcome, just be prepared to be blown away.

Thakns for all the kind words guys. Although the server is up and running is came at a bad time. Work kind of hit me hard this pst week whch is both good and bad. I expect the weekends to really pick up with some DM hosted events and such. Expect some new content as well. Also, for those who haven't read the interview, I strongly suggest you do :) Really prtrays the feeling of the world. Finally, thanks to Razor and others who have sent their compliements. Take care and I hope more people and players post here about their experiences.

As an owner of my own PW i can certainly appreciate damn hard work when I see it. Sebastain has done most of this work himself from the tilesets right down to the last AI script. The world is full of quests and quests and quest. Hes also added a crafting system... You'll find mind blowing quests, boggling puzzles at every turn, and a spike or two at the bottom of your next pitfall!
Seb you have a great world going.. The only thing I thought twice about is the fact that the quests dont have much replay value. IE the Dogs collar fetch.. So that means you just have to keep adding more *grin*
Great job and I enjoyed my tour! Thanks again

PARTIAL FEATURE LIST:
A main quest that will take you all over Ruathym. From temperate regions to swamps, deserts, and far off jungle isles, you will encounter almost every climate while following a central main storyline.
Over 50 individually well-scripted and planned persistent side quests that range from the simple to multi-stepped advanced.
A persistent journal that keeps you updated of every quest or important thing youve done.
Heavy in-depth conversations with emphasis on role-playing that includes more than 165,000 words at last count.
Different dialogue options for characters depending on attributes, class, skills and other modifiers.
All new dialogue options for low-intellect characters (similar to NWN-this applies to all characters with 8 or less intelligence)
Group friendly experience system that does not punish players that journey together. Receive nearly the same amount of experience as a group of four as you would solo.
All creatures, be it monster or NPC, drop what they were carrying; WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get).
A persistent banking system that saves your hard-earned items and gold even after the server goes down or an unfortunate crash occurs.
Making each skill important and valuable. A bards lore for identifying items, a rangers skill in spot and search for finding recent tracks, a rogues skill in persuasion, all of these and many more can be found throughout the world.
Meticulous detail of areas and zones. Youll find no generic houses, mines, dungeons, or other default areas. Painstaking care has been taken to create an atmosphere and ambiance for every locale you enter.
Hidden doors and items for those explorative types that take the extra time to search around. Almost every area contains something special for those curious and patient types.
A completely new traps system for players with over 100 new traps from falling boulders to poison needles! Such a system allows random and respawned trapped chests that can be bashed open if need be, but if you destroy the chest, some of the items might also be destroyed.
Completely revamped custom equipment and items with descriptions. You will never see a generic vendor or any default NWN item here. Almost every armor, item, clothing, etc has been added and given a proper description.
Non Monty-haul. You will find no +2 long swords just lying around here or in the inventory of low level creatures. Likewise, all treasure and loot has been assigned to new custom tables so monsters drop what they should depending on their difficulty. Finally, all noteworthy magical items (read: named) are given their own lore and history ala the Black Isle games (BG and IWD).
Every monster and NPC has been custom created and given a purpose. Many belong to different factions and can either aid or impede you depending on how you deal with them.
Geographical continuity and proper scaling of buildings and structures. Leave a rural countryside area with mountains on your left and a river to the right and enter the next area following the same exact layout. Enter a two-story home from the outside and expect to see a two-story home inside.
Seamless area transitions exist in 90% or more of the areas creating a world where you can leave an area anyplace and expect to enter the next area where you should. No blue area transitions.
Racial languages are available and given to appropriate characters on entry into the world. Speak Orcish to your fell half-orc comrades and let no dwarf or elf be the wiser. Likewise, speak in Thieves Cant to other rogues who have been initiated into the guild as well for a more subtle for of communication no one else can understand.
Realistic armors where it takes time to don armor depending on the encumbrance of the suit. Players wearing heavier armors also move slower then those in lighter armors and cloth.
CNR system for those wishing to pursue a life of crafting. Completely redone and changed; all craftable items have been modified to better preserve balance and story within the world. Over 2000 custom recipes await in a truly advanced system that takes attributes into account and other skills.
Subdual damage system for players who with to spar or simply knock unconscious their opponents rather then actually kill them. Note that this is the preferred method of any PvP that exists on the server.
Heavily modified HCR system with new death rules. There is no Fugue or permanent death for your character but other penalties do apply. See Tome of Information under Game Rules at our site.
Many options for players through heavy use of scripting that include some of the following: Paladins detect evil and aura of courage special abilities; Rangers that can track real-time movement of creatures around them; Taking logs and making a campfire to sit around or even cook raw meat on and many more.
Registrars exist in every major port or town where players can register so that when the server restarts, players start in those towns.
Completely redone and custom AI system by Jasperre. Watch as monsters run away to gather help and come back, or simply flee for their lives. A great deal of custom taunts have also been applied to all respective foes be it monster, human, or anything else where they will cry out when hit by melee or magic, beg for surrender, or send a vicious insult.
Every Forgotten Realms deity is included within the game to choose from. Players who have no god suffer no penalties, but those that do gain special privileges, quests, blessings, or something else from their particular mythos.
