This server has been brought back from our collective memories and is now hosted back in the PW story section. 700+ areas, persistant housing/storage, Henchmen, and around 50 subraces available. New forums are up at Link - will hopefully see you all ingame :)

Harkening back about 6 years or so now...Mossbourne was "the" persistant world for me. I spent quite a bit of time on there, enough time to wish it were still on a server somewhere. I've tried the WoW thing, NWN1 & 2 Stand alone's, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 1&2, IWD 1&2, TOEE, etc...but none of them replaces the enjoyment of my time spent on Mossbourne. Why? The people of course...time has moved on, and I've lost touch with the folks of Moss due to life, moves, etc...but the time spent listening to Loreena McKennitt in the local tavern of Moss, running through many characters, (40-ing Samuel Reyer), and just enjoying the environs and company with other folks who enjoyed the same was time well spent. Man, I miss Moss lol. _________________________ We fight not to enslave, but to set a country free and leave room upon the earth for honest men to live in. Thomas Paine 1776

i usedto play mossbourne but i lost the haks so can you send them to me please
I have been playing on this server for about a week now and I like it so much I want to do a little advertising for it. I think it could use more players. It is very relaxed and fun but players do take the time to role-play without being stuck up about it. As a working person, it's nice to play somewhere where you can advance your character but it doesn't feel too easy. It's a challenging place and unless you have 20 hours to play every day or only want to stick to one character ever and play for years, you won't get bored.
I would classify this server as a place for working people with a real life outside of NWN to get together, have fun for an hour or two and blow off some steam without any hassles or frustrations. And it's not one of those places where everyone is using the shout channel and has +10 immune to everything items. Its just about the most balanced server I have played on and I have tried out a LOT of servers.
Hopefully people will read this because believe it or not, they really need some more players, especially around 5 am EST when I can get on before work! Yesterday, I was the only one on - depressing :( It does pick up in the evenings but still no more than 10 players max.
Give it a shot, you'll have fun!
That rule was written because players DO argue with the DM's.
Remember, not all players are mature, and some do argue and push the DM's as far as they can. When that happens, there is this rule is written down, up front, and every one knows it. The first NPC you meet reads it to you.
Believe me though, Mossbourne's DM's are an EXTEMELY level headed kind and benevolant group.
Each and every one plays as well as spends time on stories and solving problems for players.
In the two years the server has been around, I've been very lucky to have choosen DM's specifically for their lack of egotistical motivations and it has served the players very well. Everyone is friends and when we welcome a new friend into our family, we all expect not to have to argue with each other, and this rule is there to back up the DM's who referee any disagreements. Hmmm. Hope that makes sense. No we're not a bunch of power trippers at all. We're the exact opposite and cater to players in the extreme.

All servers must have rules, Our DMs listen to players objectively, and in actuality have little problems. For any place to run smooth and with little conflict rules have to be set for both DMs and players a like. We have a fairly balanced world in all aspects of this. Just ask any one who plays, Most would agree. Without players a server isnt much at all. We know this and do our best to do whats right. But also have to make sure a set standard is kept, or one bad apple can rot the barrel.

Alot can be said about a world based on its community and mossbourne has an excellent community of players, dm's and builders. A good server where no one set playing style is set for you. Plenty of quests and even more to explore. All in all a very well balanced world.

Never a stagnant world and always being improved, Mossbourne accomodates many different play styles, from hardcore RP'ers to Solo adventurers. There is a lot to explore for both good & evil and many people to meet to share in the fun. Mossbourne is the first of a very short list of servers I've come to play consistently on.

The best part about this wonderful server is that all syles of play are supported. RP is encouraged but not enforced allowing players to do what they want to when they want to. Mossbourne could easily be rated at a 10 except for a few minor problems. The DM involvment is great when it happens but does not occur nearly enough unless it is a planned event. Random DM RP's do occur but could happen a lot more. Overall an outstanding server with a great player base and good Admins.

I first started NWN playing in Mossbourne about six months ago. Since then I have played on 8 other servers and have not found anything that compares. The variety and personality of people is second to none and Bill(Bobcat), the owner, is insanely dedicated to always making it better.

Played, built, and then dm'd here. Very active community with a generally great sense of humor. All styles welcomed.
BOOYA.

if you like crazy characters, madcap adventure and side splitting comedy, rent "rat race" starring rowan atkinson, seth green and john cleese. if you like bitchin nwn mods, take a look at Mossbourne, its got vast areas, witty players, a charming crew of dms and a low enough self esteem to show you its 'rack' with barely any prompting.

I used to work here a long time ago when it was under a different name. Since I have been gone bobcat has really turned the place around and I am rather proud of him. Great job Bill and keep it up!

The first server that I felt comfortable on, so I stayed for months. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Without a doubt one of the top NWN servers online today!
There's only one place for me. Spent a while looking for a server, and was consistently disappointed. Then I found Moss. The players, the DMs and the world keep you interested, I've spent nights knee deep in bad guys, and other nights where a weapon isn't even drawn. Best times playing NWN, Defitinbitely in Mossbourne.

An excellent all-round server where people who enjoy rp, levelling, questing, PvPing can all co-exist in a vast and compelling world. DMs and builders who really care about the product they put out are prevalent as much as the players who seek to build the depth of their own stories into Mossbourne.

One of three game worlds I visit. Great terrain, great players, great DMs, and great RPs.

What can I say about Mossbourne? It was the first server I ever played on and without a doubt my favorite. I played Moss day in and day out for about 8 months straight. The thought of playing on another server never even crossed my mind. Naturally, over time, I began to wonder what other servers had to offer but I always find my self coming back to Moss. The server has evolved through many stages most were good and few were bad. The community is very welcoming and booming with personality. You can always be on the look out for in depth and often on going role play stories headed by a respectable dm Dionnah. I recommend Mossbourne to new players and seasoned veterans.

I have played in Mossbourne since summer '03, and still play here. Means it has to be good, eh?
The world has something for every taste, be it 'rp to the bone' or good old 'hack up the goblins'. The community is great, and fellow players help you out both in game and on the forums.
Highly recommendable.

No other server I've explored has as many areas or differing quests as Mossbourne. Visually stunning with thoughtfully designed areas, this server offers a wide variety of play, ranging from light spontanteous role playing to weekly roleplaying sessions and scheuduled events open to anyone who desires to participate.

Fun gameplay across levels, and a great core group of players. Creative and fair DM's.

Played moss for ages before I went off to build my world. Its a nice place. The players are friendly, the dm's run events, and Bill does a great job making eye candy areas.
