Decent knowledge of the setting (Cormanthor, the Dales) is recommended, but not required. Players who like to enrich the experience for other players and whose objective is not to "win" will be far more rewarded than those seeking to be "the best".
PW focused on RP. Experience is mostly gained through questing and RP, and the same goes for custom items. DMs on almost 24/7. Several custom races are playable, although a special application is required to play the more powerful subraces. Haks (see below) are used, as well as the CEP2. The game is set in the Dalelands part of the Forgotten Realms after the year 1378. See site and forums for more information.

This server's been going for seven and a half years; while I no longer directly manage it, the current admin and DMs seem to be doing a good job of it, and it's still up.
They are currently revamping the server, basically doing a rebuild and getting the mod streamlined for better play.
It's probably one of the longest-lived servers in the RP tab on NWN1. There are semi-plans for an NWN2 version, but I've been limited by IRL and contributors seem very limited. Still, another seeks to take the mantle up, so it's possible we'll see an NWN2 version in the near future. _________________________ Lan's Placeable Groups v1.5

On the one hand an interesting module with heavy emphasis on RP, which I applaud).
On the other hand, it is so far the only server I have seen that imposes a schedule on people as to when their characters can gain levels. I find this a bit too intrusive.
The landscaping is not bad, and in places quite good. However, the server area is quite limited. It's clear that people are not so much expected to explore as to stand together and RP.
It's a choice, and by no means a poor one, but the intrusive way of managing character progression galls the fun for me so I award 7.0 out of 10.

I've updated the links and information to the forums and website. Also edited the death system and XP stuff, since that has changed. MD just rules. The XP system is the best for RP worlds, no questions.
different factions or guilds are numerous and it's pretty easy to make one of your own, (NOT some scripted guild BS, but a REAL guild).

I do not play that much any more. Family life and other things can intrude on your "fun time".
This server gave me great memories of NWN, and I would not have traded these for any other server.
I also wanted to say that, despite all the haks and whatever else, if you do not at least try this PW, you are missing out on a GREAT place.

Lots of people vote 10 for roleplay worlds. All the buddies of the admins come on and do it, or they manage to give XP away for voting.

One of the longest-runnning worlds I've been involved with. Without the "RP nazis".
It gets a good turnover which keeps things fresh, and gives the new players changes to rise up and take the reins from the fogeys.
I've been on worlds where its the same people for 3+ years and that 's not fun.

The place is not quite PnP...meh. But really, there IS no NWN server like PnP.
It does give a good PnP feel, and DMs works toward that. Pretty cool. I also like that its not hard to get established with the players, they generally like people, and the DMs run quests for you no matter who you are.

It's a good place with good people. Having DM'd there for a short time a while ago, I know they like creating stories that are just fantastic, and get you involved in a lot of stuff.

It's hard to be a female player and find a decent world.
I enjoy the number of (real) women on the server. Most people are really polite and you don't get harrassed. When you do, they ban them quick.

I've been playing for about 8 months now, and there is a lot of involvement in the world between staff, DMs and players. Every world has problems, this one just has less.
Try yourself and see. Not everything is for everybody.

Great place. Loved the way areas are put together. Each area seems hand-crafted.
Also, the dungeons are plentiful and the DMs always seem online.

Wonderful place. Since there's a request to vote, I thought I'd throw my .02 in.
Love the players, the areas, and the admins jump on DMs going on power trips really quick. Only negative is the PvP, but there's not a good way to handle PvP except turn it off.
