Nexus is an island city on the Sea between Worlds. Like Renaissance Venice or a budding Rome, it is a center of trade with imperial ambitions. Nexus is home to explorers and exiles, merchants and intriguers, and above all heroes. Its plots are spun through many realms, winning allies and vanquishing enemies. As the city grows in power, so may you.

Great roleplay server. Server is well maintained. These guys have a blog for bug reports and they usually get fixed the next day.

The world is detailed and strongly drawn with active and far-reaching changes and consequences taking place as they result from game- and role-play. Even the lowliest character can make a difference. The DMs are great at running events that range from huge multi-stage epics to small one-off adventures involving only one or two characters.

Excellent PW.. great role play, fun areas, medium magic, no munchkins, and smart players. DMs really enjoy what they do, & weekly events are very imaginative.

After a fruitless search through various worlds, I found Nexus to be the perfect server for me. The player community is friendly and accomodating, helping new players out. The DMs are great and run pretty good weekly events which are well-attended and a blast. A good mix between pure hack-and-slash and hardcore RP servers, where the major objective is to have fun and be civil.

Great admins, wonderful events, as long as you're civil, you shall have fun. I advise it to all that like to see an active world, with non Fearunian setting.

I have been playing for a couple of days now and I'm floored by the quality of players here. The world, thus far that I have explored is very well put together. Everything has a reason for being there and with npc's the engage the players with good dialogue as well as quests, it helps you to immerse yourself into the world. I have yet to experince the DM events. but I'm guessing that they are excellent considering how well everything else is put together. I highly recommend this server for those that enjoy playing good characters and being apart of something bigger than just the standerd exp grind.

This world is great! Versitile, imaginative, relaxed, and friendly - this Server appeals to newbies as well as long-time players.

Great PW with fantastic system for matching monster difficulty with Character Level. LOTS of Hack n Slash with LOTS of RP! Great community and a terrific development/design/DM team!
My personal favorite!

Having a blast meeting friends and slaying foes! The lack of evil player killers is a BIG plus too, at least in my book.
I'm giving it a 10 because of the players.
Yes, the world is well crafted, yada, yada, but you can find that elswhere = 7.
The idea of the Nexus connecting to a bunch of different worlds works great for a PW= 8
The players I've met really get in character and are the friedliest bunch I've seen. = 10!

Just stopping by to say I just recently joined this world and guild, but have been having a blast so far. Can't wait to experience a DM event, so I'll be online Thursday at least this week.
I play a halfling named Lyssa that has already made good friends with some other newer players (I assume they are new, their characters are lower in level)- some great roleplayers here!
Anyway, having a blast and I would recommend anyone to try our this PW! See you in the Nexus!

I play on Nexus regularly and find that the different worlds give a great flavor to the game there. People have always be freindly and assit newer players in finding their way around, although finding other players on the server is hit and miss. The DM events are fun and sometimes it gets a bit crowded, but it's handled well and is interesting. More fun are the unschedualed DM interaction sessions when the city "comes to life" and the DM's are very proficient in creating a believable and fun role-playing environment. New areas and refreshed areas seem to appear at least monthly so the game keeps from getting stale, although advancement to the highest levels (above 10th) can be a bit slow.

Consider me "Wow"ed.
The supported crafting skills feature makes possible a truly amazing degree of personalization. Never have my characters been so easily portayed true-to-concept on any other Role-Play server.
9.75 because nothing is perfect, but the virtues of Nexus far outweigh its flaws.

A very large world with a well though out premice that provides roleplay, factions, crafting {including cooking and plans for fishing} and also a lot of mobs and areas to explore.
The experiance system is slow to force RP but it can move at a good clip in groups of roleplayers.
With an excellent amount of DM game time, quests and roleplay can spring up anywhere and at anytime.
A world where quests are very linear with a focus on rp.
A++ if you are into a challange as I am.

From a player's point of view:
This is what I have seen as a player. Nexus as a server is well thought out and designed. The theme allows many opportunities for players to create dynamic backgrounds and interesting histories for themselves. So long as the core server rules are respected, almost any background is possible. For those who have interesting character concepts that are neither evil or PvP pickpocketers, this server is a fresh relief. The DMs are quite respectful of the fact that people play the game to enjoy it, and work towards providing material for people to entertain themselves via quests or NPC interactions. Many of the areas on the server is not yet completed, but there seems to be something new added almost weekly. It is a real plus for me to see as a player that there is a dedicated team working on constantly adding new, fleshing out old, and fixing even the most minor problems found. Administrators have thus far responded to all my comments and ideas promptly - most of the time within 24 hours. Cannot ask for much more from people managing a PW. IMHO.
From a builder's perspective:
The extensive thought and background put into building civilized areas on this server is up to par with the best of them out there. Fleshed out with NPCs and local sounds for flavor, the areas on this server not only look good, but they also feel realistic. A good deal of consideration has been placed on the 3rd dimension (Z position) on this server, and they only use CEP hak. Quite an accomplishment... Two thumbs up.
From a DM's judgement:
I do not DM on Nexus, but will comment on the server and Nexus DMs just to add insight from the view of another DM. From what I have seen thus far, respect for the players go the longest distance, and these DMs do not lack it. They have shown both the ability to enjoy themselves while running a game world, and keep a healthy respect for the players. The experience to know when to guide players and know when to leave enough alone has been present in every interaction I have had with Nexus DMs. As for when there are no DM logged online, Nexus provides enough quests to keep most characters busy and entertained. A good balance overall.
I have mentioned only a few of the good highlights on this server. Here is one for those out there who always like to know a low with the highs: As with most PW servers, Nexus itself is still in late development stage. Depending on who you ask, there are always things not yet completed, or could be added. The module itself is self sufficient, and at the rate the builder is putting things in, I would not be surprised to log on today and notice something that was not there yesterday.
