Description
Persistent World - NWNX - (SOU) A fantasy world where serious NWN players can adventure, build contacts/trust between other PC, and just overall develop their characters accordingly all against the ploy of good or evil. This world will require patience, strategy, intellect and teamwork to sucessfully overcome the adventure that awaits them in One World. Magical Items are present but do not expect to find +5 armor and weapons in the merchant shops. Magical Items are meant to be rare, and highly coveted, not a necessary item that all PCs possess. Some of the quests/paths are geared by class and attempting to complete/follow these paths involve interaction with other PC's. This enforces smart character development, ie. good can not do evil quests, do bad things with out suffering the concequences, and vice versa. This makes for a realistic and enjoyable gaming experience.

We have switched One World to the PERSISTENT category of Gamespy or NWN Multipalyer option.

Please take the time to rate One World. We are always looking for ways to increase the player base and hopefully if we get rated hight enough, others will notice us and want to play. Thanks for all the support.

Shigeru... It never fails, right when I thought I had the bugs worked out of the new guard scripts.... somebody logs on... The guard scripts where hosed up for a short period of time... and you seemed to logon during that time. Give it another chance, I value your feedback as a player and was attempting to revamp the system due to your comments.

The guard system is meant to keep control of repeat offenders. I can not count the number of times players have taken the time to create a character and the first thing they do is kill/attack the guards or merchants or whoever. They die, respawn and attack again, repeat cycle. It is unnerving... then, new players logon, no merchants, no guards, empty town, what is this? They get the wrong impression.

I could have made the guards immortal but that didn't seem realistic and I wanted evil aligned characters to be able to do evil things. I know the system is not perfect, but we do have plans for perfecting it, to allow an enjoyable gaming experience for all.

Once again... Thanks for your feedback and give One World another try

I strongly endorse this server, and seeing as how I've played on almost all the servers in the roleplay section, that's saying alot. One World has all sorts of quests to do, items to collect, and factions to join. I'm lovin every minute of it. But, the guards do need to piss off a bit. *grins*

Well...

I logged on earlier this week to have a look-see.

I was urged to look at my journal, which I did (looking for changes or what have you). I didn't know it, but I had my sword drawn...MISTAKE!

The guards who used to berate me for being armed in town filled me full of arrows and I woke up, bleeding to death, in a guardhouse with four or five guards watching me die.

I'd say you fixed the AI, but it wasn't fixed to get me to play here. My humble advice: Gcve your potential players the chance to enjoy your world. Don't oppress them into leaving.

I'll probably come back a few more times to see what's up.

Thanks for the feedback. To answer some of your questions....

1. At present, you can solo, but as you know leaving the constrants of town is highly risky. Work is currently in progress to add more intown activities. More precisely (Breaking and Entering)/stealth mode type of activities. The town does sleep and those well-to-do Estate residents surely have something worth stealing. Also some overall relationships type building with the local residents.

2. The server is based mostly on alignment driven plots. At the lower levels, the majority are generic with a few exceptions. As you gain levels you will find that your character will be forced to choose a side, or try to stay neutral. However, the quests will shift your alignment based on the path you choose and it is definitely more beneficial to stick to your original alignment (Role play your character accordingly).

3. Yes there are class specific quest/routes. Currently there is a Thief's Guild you can join. Membership has its benefits, as well as drawbacks. A Cleric/Paladin quest is currently in the works and a Druid quest/route will follow after that.

I will be the first to admitt tht the guard scripts are annoying. Something will be done to adjust their AI towards armed PCs in the urban setting.

Hope this helps, one again thanks for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated.

I logged on and found it very good. The conversations, quests and such are catered to varying alignments, which I like quite a bit.

I also found that you have to party up or its very risky. Makes sense, but it makes it hard to "impulse play" or work around a tough schedule. I don't think you can get around it without sacrificing the realism, so I won't complain.

Advice : Shut your guards up. They holler like crazy when I come out of a rat infested house bleeding from my eyeballs that I have a dager in my hand.

I will continue to tool around and see what I see. Here is what I will be looking for:

1. Can I play by myself and have fun or will I suffer because nobody else in on the server when I am.

2. Does the alinment-specific plots and outcomes continue throughout, or does it die off. If it tapers off, you lose some of the biggest reasons that its ok to make it difficult.

3. Haven't found anything class-specific, but would expect to.

I did about an hour run-around checking out the stores and what not, delivered a letter to the chapel. My character is an Elvish Ranger/Rogue. It looks really well done. If I only had more time to play . . .

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Its not perfect but I am striving to get there.:) If you have a chance please rate the world.... that and along with your comments will be greatly appreciated. Pass the word on to all your gaming friends as more players mean more fun. Keep the feedback coming!

Cool World. Quite a bit of attention to detail. Just too tough by yourself. Not overpowering creatures but just alot of them. Monetary awards are light as well as magical gear, which in my option makes it a better game. I hate +5 armor in the shops and whatnot. Keep up the good work and will keep an eye out for players loggon on.

Yah, I created an evil character and was highly impressed that there seemed to be a dinstinct and different path for me than for the 'goodies'. I did all the initial quests, but now I need someone to group up with. I'll definately look for you on the server.

Looks like a lot of work went in to this world. I took a brief look around, (15 - 30 minutes...) played around, talked to a few NPCs and thought it was highly playable. I even ventured outside the city, I died immediately but there was sufficient warning not to venture outside alone at night. It looks like a tough world but as the description states "partying up" is a must. Any takers?
