Description
After numerous months and hours of work, Shifting Winds and Crucible of the Crescent Shadow: Bloodstone have evolved into the Shifting Winds of Damara. Our Devteam has put countless time into making a vibrant world in which players can not only court the usual danger and adventure, but also become embroiled in the politics of the Island and troubled lands familiar to some Forgotten Realms fans. Utilizing an abundance of community content such as CNR and the amazing DAR subrace system players have many options to pursue in their own character evolution. Players can not only own their own houses and guilds, but persistent banks and chests. We welcome all to come and enjoy our low-magic, roleplay intensive saga. Who knows you may find yourself to be the next ruler or arch-villian.

The world is back online! It can be found in PW Story listed as "Shifting Winds Legacy"
For the most part, it's online for testing and updating. The old crew is getting together to run DM campaigns etc a day or two a week. If that's you, and you miss us, look me up on FaceBook as Chuck Beyersdoerfer OR the world has a group page as well :)

The world is now online 24/7! We are still updating many areas, and beefing up the vista. But, as you all know, that has never been an issue in Shifting Winds, we are simply making it better!
We have bumped up the xp a notch or three, we've reduced the death penalties and are in the process of boosting the magic levels. There won't be any rings with Imp Evasion and haste on it, so don't come looking for that hype!
But if you are interested in a world where character design and implementation of ALL your skills is essential... You've found it!

Well, after a long hiatus and exploring other games, and a life... it's time we bring back the beast from the ashes of it's previous life. I recently reinstalled NWN1 (After realizing that 2 is useless as a developer and MMO's just dont do it for me) and the toolset just feels like home again. LOSW will take some time to return to its former glory, but with some time and love I do believe it'll get there.
We'll be building off of a CEP 2.1 base (since I really don't feel like updating the haks from 1.62 to 1.69 as my first endeavor back!) so have them ready to go! I'm not going to setup forums this time, not just yet at least, but will setup a Facebook group with a mini forum on there. Look to see you there!

great mod the crafting system is addictive and fun the areas are awsome and very detailed i could go on for hours best i can say is check it out for yourself

Great world, the people are fun and active. They are also helpful without throwing spoilers at you. It is a low magic/low wealth world that has a focus on RP'ing with out being militant about it. There is a good variety of areas to explore and adventures to have. It is a visually appealing world. You can tell a difference in the later developed areas, but isn't that always the case. It says to me that the builders are committed to bettering their skills and in return bettering the world. Speaking of the Builders/DM's...they are really involved in the community and work with their players to improve the experience. If there are certain things that are desired, with a good RP reason, you might get them.
I woould absolutely recomend that you give it a try.

I've tried a different servers and this by far is the best that I have come across. RPing is encouraged and expected, but no one is a member of the RP-Gestapo like on other RP servers. 'Having fun while actually playing' is the unofficial motto (my perception). The crafting system is really fun for 'downtime' (when you are alone on the server) but it takes some getting used to, but with some ideas on the horizon (a persistent Adventurers' Hall), the minor knicks will be remedied. I'll be on this server for a very long time.

Most excelent place to play. Wether you just want to sit around talking with old buddies, or charging those fierce ogres with a stalwart band of adventurers, or opening up a crafting shop to supply others with what they need. It is all here for you.

Beautiful work on building in this world. Great-looking areas and optional custom music. A creative group of role-players that are one of the nicest fun-loving bunch of people you could hope to meet.

The Dev Team of this world is VERY commited to keeping things moving and interesting on this PW. We have made some tremendous changes in the past three weeks, and there are more to come!

Hi guys, newbie-girl here. This is the first time I've posted on the Vault, but after hearing certain things I felt I really needed to speak up. I've only been playing PnP for a few years...(I'm an infant compared to most of you,) but one of my PnP friends lured into the online world of NWN a few months ago and I have to say that this is the first world where I've really felt comfortable. From the LoSW Dev Team to the DM's to the regular players..EVERYONE has been so nice and willing to help out the new player. The RPing is phenomenal! Please do yourself a favor and check out the main webpage and forums, then log yourself on and have some fun...in my own very humble opinion, you will not be disappointed!

PLAY HERE !!! If you are looking for a stable, ever-expanding persistant world that isn't repetitive and maintains the fine balance between fun gaming and challenging roleplaying, this is it. Soulflame and his crew have done a great job creating a world built on HCR without being overbearing and are readily available, often running DM driven quests. Players are friendly and create a fun, relaxed roleplaying experiance.

very nice server, it's gotten me back into NWN, i've only been here 2 weeks and i've loved every minute of it( other than dying a couple of times) i find it stable, only down when the server is updated and extremely player freindly

Just for the record. I am not a DM, I certainly am not a scriptor, and as of yet have not contributed any areas to this world. So what do I do on shifting winds? I play, In fact I log more hours on the shifting winds server as a player than I ever have on another server. The world is beautiful and full of life. Also it attracts a player base that is serious about rp.
For the information of those interested I spent three hours last night partied up with about 5 other people, not one person was out of character for the entire time we traveled together. I had an enjoyable time, and, as a player, not once thought I was wasting my time playing in a generic world that's best feature was the custom kilts.

I actually enjoyed my time in the world, and gave it a good vote on the vault. I was playing, no more, no less.
