Length  Endless! Your imagination is the limit!

Hack & Slash  Medium
Classes  Any class works assuming it is roleplayed.
Tricks & Traps  Medium
Magic Level  Moderate to High
Schedule  24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Treasure  Moderate
Number Servers  One
Alignments  Any alignment works assuming it is roleplayed.
Experience Rewards  Moderate to High
Races  Any standard race works assuming it is roleplayed.
PVP  Full PvP
ApplicationReqs  Must be willing to Role Play (RP). Anyone can join no matter their skill as long as they are willing to improve upon themselves as players in this respect. We love having players grow with us!
Vault Type  Server
Death  We run the -10 'bleed out' rule. i.e: When a player hits 0 HP they fall to the ground and begin bleeding to death with a possibility of stabilizing. If the player in question reaches -10 HP they are dead and may either be resurrected by spell or scroll, or re-spawn back to a temple. Each player is given 'Essence of Life' and each time they re-spawn, loose one charge of this essence. The PC may purchase from the temple more Essence at a steep cost. Once a player that has no more essence dies, they will be unable to re-spawn and only be brought back to life by spell or scroll...ever.
Connection  Cable
House rules  Common sense rules the day. Detailed rules are shown in game in the PC's journal. Our mentor system ensures that all new players are received well from older players. Our XP tiering system holds back powergamers in a level tier. When a PC achieves a level of RP that shows us that they are capable of advancing in the world, we raise their tier to the next level accordingly.

Content Guide  Teen
Description
Far up in the ever-frozen northlands, in the tiny village of Chisholm, your adventure opens with a challenge of survival using your wit, muscle, and ability to adapt. Though you start near the arctic circle, the ever-expanding world around you includes jagged mountain peaks, steamy tropical jungles, stately forests, cosmopolitan cities, and barren deserts. Some of the features of this mod:
o A homely RP aspect. o Good old-fashioned DMing style.
o Unique mentor/apprentice system which ensures that newbies are always welcomed and befriended swiftly.
o As much atmosphere as you can fit into a mod without having two atmospheres - we mean it, come and see for yourself.
o Some of the very best Role Players, DM enforced.

This was a very good module and was well moderated. I'm sorry it's closed.

I don't know what this troll's problem is, but none of that ever happened. No one was ever asked to vote down any other module (quite the opposite), and the DMs behaved very responsibly. However, I do remember they did ban one jerk who just came in and started indiscriminately killing every first level character, NPC, cow, breaking placeables, etc. -- with no attempt at role playing at all, and when confronted he would just log out. Then a couple hours later he would come in and smash things again. So they got his IP and he was banned. Isn't that right, troll?

Anyway, this module has been closed for many months. I.e., it is no longer being run.

I remember this module it sucked. I remember the DMs asking players to vote down modules that were better rated than their own, like elder grow. They were a bunch of hippocritical facist nazi's who if you didn't RP just the way they wanted you to they would ban you. For running away from the guards and other incedents like that.

I would like to issue a formal appology from the staff of Taliv: The Northern Realms. What our player did was disgraceful and unjust to you all. Although we do not have direct controll over the actions that these players choose to take, we shall take measures to ensure that this does not happen again. Thank you.

We do not always have control over what people do. Both have been taken to account for what they did, we agree that voting straight 1s for any mod is absolutely incorrect. Last I heard the matter was being taken up with the NWVault administrators to have those votes removed from other mods.

I love two of your people, Creed and THEREALIASGATG. Both voted straight 1s for every world but this one. The word for this is spammers; both should have their voting priveliges removed. If that is the way this world works, complaining to others about spammers while fielding their own, then they really need to grow up. Its quite evident what you are doing; you should not be where you are right now.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but I checked the Server Vault and "abdel_adrian" and "TITANmerc" never bothered to try the mod before they voted 1's across the board. They're spoilers, pure and simple.

Yes, it is expected that one is able to converse as well as kill monsters in TNR. For some people this is beyond them; we attempt to have only the best RPers in our mod. This isn't to say we snub new players - we love potential just as much as experience!

We welcome you and hope you enjoy our mod. Come grow with us!

The second you start too play youll notice the great attention too detail, leaving you in amazement wanting too explore. Every tthing has so much depth and feeling its unbeliveable. The Languge system is executed extrodanarly well and im sure the mentor system will is bee brilliant. You may find yourself getting a little bored if not alot off people are on, because you do not want you chracters too die, and there alot off bad things out there so exploring is a risky bussiness apart from that i would recomend this server too anyone whos intrested in a great experience.

I love this mod! It has so many features my personal favorite being the race languages. Best of all, it has a good mix of HCR and normal gameplay. Give it a try to see what I mean.

This mod is amazing, the sripting , the dms, and the details to everything. I especialy liked the starting how each race has a differant begining.

On this mod you get languages depending on your race, class and intellence, and you can actually talk that language so no other can understand! there's also an ability with mentors and students that helps new players get introduced to the world, and gain an xp bonus! besides that, some of the most nicest roleplayers gather here, so what are you waiting for? A must see!

This mod has beautifully designed environments with painstaking attention given to the smallest details. Get in on the ground floor of this excellent mod!
