Players can start in one of two main cities, depending on their alignment. The cities are different just as light and day are. Many of the legendary weapons of the realms exist in Acheron, hidden away so that they can only be found by the most powerful of adventurers. This world is *the* place to be if you want a unique pnp feel and love player interaction. Gain experience hunting throughout with our unique party system, or take part in DM run quests that are available on a fairly regular basis. Every feature in this world is completely scripted and created by the DEV team, because balancing NWN to run as closely to table top D&D as possible is top priority. The saying goes that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Acheron is filled with just that: Good intentions. Everything is there to make this a good server, but increasingly arbitrary and unnecessary rules and changes makes this already incomplete server feel even more ramshackle.

I was greatly enthused by both the information about your PW on the web site and the effusive reviews logged here. Imagine my horror, then, when attempting to connect to the IP displayed on your web site, I recieve nothing but the mocking taunts of the 'server could not be found (timed out) error message, regardless of which port I attempted to connect to.
Admittedly, this method is hardly the best for such a communique, but there seems to be a dearth of other options available. If you can, please endeavour to provide answers to these queries:
Is the server down? (I presume this is the case...) If so, do you have any idea as to when it might resurface.
If it's not down, is the IP provided out of date?
Many thanks, and I hope to have the chance to dip my toe in your world soon.

I would just like to know, is there an actual rogue guild in the good aligned city? and if its in the sewer does it transition from the sewer look to an actual wooden house/building type look? cuz i love being a rogue (i really do want to roleplay but i dont really know how... ill try hard)

I luuuuuuuv the new eating and drinking system. I eagerly await the defecation and urination system which should logically follow.
I propose that if you do not defecate in 2 or 3 days, your body becomes weak and shuts down. You must spend minimum 3 minutes doing a number 2, however a number 1 will just take 1 minute. Failure to defecate could result in death. [It's true you know]
This will also help the new onset of powergaming and Powerleveling which Thanador has seen sprout up.
If this is implemented, Salvanus would have cemented his status as a god among men, in the NWN PW Community.

The DM's are helpful to players and inventive in the quests they create. The tension between the two cities, calls for great roleplay between characters, and not only when the DM's are involved. I have made many friends here who are great roleplayers and have enjoyed roleplaying with them in all situations.

Sorry Godbreaker, but your entire post is completely useless.
First of all, the comments are to be made from people who have actually *played* the server, not read some forums.
Secondly, Syclya has not posted in at least a month, so reading month or longer old posts doesn't really help get a sense of the world, let alone reading a forum. Playing in the actual game would help.
Next you say "Perhaps this server should rethink who works for them"... where did you read that Syclya *works* for the server? She is a player, and one that doesn't like hearing BS like your comments and keeping her mouth shut.
And lastly you say, "Obviously not professionals." I'm sorry, but this last comment had me on the floor pissing myself. How does one even come up with such a retarded statement? Last time I checked, Bioware was the company making the money off NWN, I was pretty sure that people took time out of their lives to design persistant worlds for insignificant specks such as yourself to play on... for free.
Next time you decide to spew out of your arse hole, write the comments down in wordpad first, then decide whether they are inteligent enough to post.

First off, Syclya, you have to be about the most illogical person I have ever had the blinding opportunity to witness post in a forum. You took every word that was posted and twisted it to what you wanted to here. Insane. Does it really bother you that someone doesn't like a server you play on? I've known Sal for a while as well. The fact is, many of you are wrong about him. In fact, I'd go so far as to say all of you are wrong about him.
The truth is, and I'm sad to say it, Salvanus is an Italian prostitute named Vincenzo who makes his money by drugging his "customers" and selling their livers on the black market.
That said, he is very good at his job. Even with my liver gone, I feel it was money well spent.

Which is all interesting to hear since people did witness the behavoiurs. Some left, some banned, some bann you. (yeah Hazmatt got banned much earlier) Point is... there are still folks on LoA with the attitude like yours of "grief them all". The spamming mails from Salvanus justified? Yes come play on LoA and get spammed!

Make2Note, I had nothing to do with harassing the dms in BlackFalls server, I did check out the server some time ago, I found it not to my liking so I left without comment or disruption. This is the first time I have heard about this group that went to harass blackfalls. I don't know where you get your facts from. You should really make sure you have facts and not assumptions before making these outlandish comments.

If my players have done anything that you from your "Almighty Altar of Maturity" have deemed "immature", I'm sure you have done something twice as bad to get that reaction.
Mind you lately the members and staffs have been throwing little tantrums across the NWN community. As somone else put:
After LoA crashed last night and stayed down, Tordec announced in chat that he was "going to go get banned from Kingdoms".
Haz and some others (dms I am told) also came to Black Falls and harassed the head dm there after Nathan's little stunt and banning.
Then there was Sal spamming hate mail at some of the individuals who were banned for about a week.
I think this about sums up the maturity level of the "powers that be" and their favorites on LoA.

I have played on Salvanus' LoA PW server for about 7 months now and I consider it some of the most engaging and most fun RPG gaming I've ever done. I think that's saying quite a lot since I've played RPGs since the days when 8-bit was king and names like IBM and Commodore were household.

I find that the more attention you give someone who is downing your server the more life you give to their accusations and the more you bring yourselves down. One of the greatest moments in history was when Arnold admitted to doing bad things in during his campaign. I'm not saying acheron is a bad place either. I am a former player and I really loved the place. Why am I posting this if I don't play there anymore? I dunno I just saw it on the front page of the vault so I thought I would stop by and see what's going on lately and after reading a few posts perhaps bring an unslanted view of the server on these boards.
Acheron is a very well created world. Sal is quite frankly a genious. He has his own way of doing things and that is his strength but could also be his weakness because someone with a great mind and knows it can fall into a trap of not hearing others points of view. Sal has his own philosophy of how things should be and that's pretty much a take it or leave it kind of mentality. I think that is good in many cases but not all. The greatest attritbute acheron has going for it is without a doubt the ppl who play there. You will find yourself becoming very close to many of them due to the masterfully created no party system. This forces you to learn to work together as a team and build relationships with others. Of course it can be a pain sometimes as well...
The dms (last I checked) were great as well. The role play experiences I had in acheron were among the best in my two year span of playing this game. I had some very memorable moments and the overall role play may have been the best I've ever seen.
Also there is rarely any lag that I remember. I thought it was great how dedicated Sal was to his server and staying on top of things.:)
If there are any drawbacks and no server is perfect, it would probably be the fact that PnP and NWN cannot have all of the same rules. The two are different after all and some things do not carry over from PnP and become a hindrance instead of a benefit.
Also if Sal learns to take more council and heed more suggestions of the players instead of brushing them off I'm sure the server could without a doubt be the best out there (which it is not).
And lastly I would have to say that while the role play is among the best on any server (and that's what is most important) the layout and design of the world is not among the best. I'm just being honest. It is very logical but perhaps too logical and bland. I mean since when was nature logical anyways? To address the bland comment, I would have to say that the areas are not much to look at and the creatures and areas are not diverse enough for me. I think the cities need more to do in them as well. I guess to sum it up the areas are not very detailed and I dont think there was enough thought and time put into the creation of them.
So acheron has some really great things about it and it also has some not so great things about it (which all servers do). I hope this is taken as constructive instead of whining or bitterness of a former player which I can assure you it is not. This is simply an account by someone who is emotionally removed from the world and therefore can honestly analyze it. It is a great server after all and has lots of room for improvement. It could very well become the #1 server if some changes were made but it most certainly is not at the moment.

I just enjoy it on this serve I've been on it since dec of last year and still enjoy playing it that and I just find it hard not to enjoy. It's pretty unique and has allot of cool features and the Dm's enjoy helping the players through the experience.
