Introduction:
The core of world is set around the Three Towns and their struggle for existence. With wild lands forming ancient borders, the towns� folk have little recourse but to seek help from any and all willing to lend aid. In the middle of all this, putting the native population to plight are three main adversaries: The Bleeding Eye, The Iron Brotherhood and the Orks. It is these groups that seem to be taking the war to the towns folk. Rumours abound of the groups working in cohesion and of a higher force controlling them! In this world, metal is a scarce resource and scavenging from your deceased foes provides a ready cash supply for adventurers. Weapons and arms command high prices and require players to have status within their respective communities. Recent additions have seen massive expansions to the world, opening up new continents, complex inter-woven plot lines, and epic challenges!

I've been playing off and on since 2005. Very solid server. Frequent updates gives new content often. Great world with a great player base and a great message board. I've played elsewhere but I keep coming back.

Adamantine - I really expected better from you - a parting spat at the server which gave you years of free gaming? Anyone seeing your rating should query why someone would play such a bad server for so many years.
I don't work there anymore, but it's no surprise to me that you make such a drama out of leaving. You and your fellow leavers aren't nearly so important as you think - 3T has survived a lot of departures from players who thought they were the server, and lo and behold it's still going strong. _________________________ Lead Dev

best nwn server ever . Made me feel that nwn is actually worth playing after BG series . 3T got great epic story and no nerfs at all , devs just made things like they should be , all is nice balanced imo and if it isnt you know it soon be . I may disagree with few things (restrictions on pvp and world being too friendly are main things) but it doesnt stop me think that 3T is amazing place . Great place to play solo or with party and explore cool world with tons of quests . And even with nwn being such old game now 3T still got nice large player base to spend time with and even pvp from time to time with some skilled opponents .

Maybe if someone from the dm team had taken the effort to try to mediate the problem instead of letting two headstrong people go at it things would have been different? But none stepped up and just let it continue ....
As far as rules go you aren't so pure yourself are you? How many times have you spawned hoards of neo's and then nerfed them into two shot kills while also eliminating their spellcasting abilities? Hard to take the "rules are rules" speech from someone who would twink from dm mode as often as I know you have.
Might be tough for some to believe but I have helped tons of players on 3T so there is many who have more loyalty to me than the server. Even some of the ones who dislike me the most wouldn't be able to play and have fun without the builds and gear I have layed out for them.
In the end alls that matters is me and three other fulltime, longtime players have had enough of 3T. I had a lot of fun on 3T but issues with other players, issues with dm's, constant nerfs, gutter high tier drops and just plain boredom have won out so yeah I will go elsewhere.

Completelely awesome server 10/10 from me.
Yeah it's hard but it's the challenge that makes it addictive and fun to play. The DM's have been more than helpful on many occasions with me. Most of the players are very helpful too and if you're new to the server you should feel free to ask for advice. I am still asking people for advice :P

Funny how "The Dude" and "Dayhawk" are the only negative reviews here, and they were both posted one after the other on the same day.
We have a damned good idea of who these two are, and I have to say I'm disappointed. Having played with them for some years and considered them to be my friends on 3T, I'm really disappointed with how low they are stooping right now just because they didn't get their own way. Both have broken server rules several times, so if they are feeling bitter about that then sorry, but rules are rules. If you can't take it, go somewhere else. We don't need childish comments from what I thought were adult players.

I have been playing NWN online/modules for the better part of eight years now (The Three Towns for three plus years) and I feel very comfortable stating that The Three Towns is the most fair and balanced mod I have found.
The questing system and storylines are second to none � to get better storylines you would need a PTP game.
The loot system is both challenging and addictive and, like in life, the longer you work/adventure the better gear and more gold you will have.
The DM team is large so when there are problems or issues there is usually a DM online to help you � and if not there will be one within a few short hours. Emails are answered quickly. The respect each DM pays individual players is, in my experience, top notch and straightforward, always seeking to be fair and helpful.
PvP (which is not my bag) is exciting and usually in a spirit of fun, seldom mean-spirited or vengeful.
There isn�t a lot of Role Play but more often then not players will join in or at least listen politely when a group begins.
There is no crafting system. All wealth is acquired through adventuring or barter/trade with other players.
There *are* many spell nerfs. Read the Wiki to better understand them before you create a new charters to avoid build frustrations. And yes, it�s true, some nerfs happen after players have a build all completed to level 40, but once you take a few steps back and stop thinking, �Me, Me, Me, woe is ME!�, and are honest with yourself, will realize ALL nerfs are made to make the mod fair and balanced.

Played 3T for 5+ years. The DM team constantly adds new challenges, monsters, and items and this server offers a challenge where you earn your levels. I've broken server rules and been sinbinned before BUT the same DM who binned me also took time to sort out my character issues and help me out. Dm's are fair but not easy which makes this game world entertaining for any experienced NWN player. For a non-pay server and game, the DM's provide close to pay level support. Don't expect a cakewalk here. Half the fun is overcoming the obstacles and difficulty.

The good:
The world is very developed. Its rich in quests and history. The server is stable.
The Bad:
I have played on this server for years and recently it has become unplayable. It feels less like the people running the server want their players to enjoy the game, and more like they just want to mess with you. The game is designed to be REALLY hard and so you spend most of your time trying for the best character build. When you find a great one, it gets nerfed. Months devoted to getting a great character to have it all changed under your feet. This was such a great server, but the people running it are on some sort of power trip and I will no longer be there to serve their ego.
Good luck everyone who takes a chance. Let me warn you... best to suck up to the DM's. If you don't then you might as well not waste your time.

Lots of double standards in regards to the dm team and their close friends. A normal player gets hell if he so much as moves into a grey area of the rules, but a dm or a close friend of a dm often gets a free pass when it comes to breaking any/all rules. They are vigilant about tracking down players that break the rules but tend to ignore corruption on their own team. Feedback tends to be poorly received and/or ignored -- if you have a problem and you don't have a dm backing you up and pressing what your saying then don't even bother.
The world does have some decent stories and quests -- but be prepared for the constant nerfs (to classes, items, CR's, etc.) and the extremely low drop rate. Its easy to go several days of play without a single drop which can be rough on the gold (which means shoddy gear/no upgrades).

This is without a doubt the BEST PW ever created for NWN. After being online for 7 years this server has reached near perfection. Everything I like about D&D and online multiplayer RPG's are combined in The Three Towns and I feel sorry for the ones who haven't tried it yet.
