Argyle Online is proud to announce that development is already underway on a brand new persistent world for Neverwinter Nights II.

Set in Port Hope, the embattled, ruined city located in the Land of Argyle --a d20 setting created by Silver Oak Studios -- this locale offers a unique and fun role-playing experience for players.

The Port Hope team is already hard at work developing content, utilizing the 3.5 core rules set for Dungeons and Dragons, and incorporating the exciting lore provided by Silver Oak Studios. Some of the enticing features players can look forward to enjoying include the choice of both a permadeath and non-permadeath server, Non-Player Characters that react to each Player Character based on their actions in the persistent world, a low magic setting, and role-playing focused players. The Port Hope project is being supported by one of the original Neverwinter Nights communities, and a commitment to create an entirely persistent module, where players can control the pace of their development.

We invite everyone interested in learning more about this premiere Neverwinter Nights II project to visit the Silver Oak Studios website at Link Please register on our forums and read our Frequently Asked Questions, learn who is already on the Port Hope team and how you can apply to join us. We look forward to seeing you.

AO is a great place to not only learn roleplaying but to get that community feel.

I like it, just wish there were more players around.

Argyle Online is a great place for those that want a server where being an 8th level character is truely meaningfull. It is a place where the characters make the world, where you can have an impact on the future of the lands.

New players are always welcome at Argyle online! We are at the beginning stages of a new storyline for our server and now would be a great time for new players to join us. We currently have a small group of dedicated players and DMs and one of the most unique and beautiful servers out there.

Our players and DMs are friendly, mature, and helpful. If you are interested in finding out more about Arbyle Online please visit our forums and say hello :)

While Argyle Online has some beautifully designed areas, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to a friend. The reasoning behind this is that it suffers from a decided lack of true PW elements ie, virtually everything and anything that happens in this world has to be DM-led. While that would be wonderful if a DM was present 24/7, the sad fact is that many times one logs on and spends their playing time wandering around spawnless areas and looking for some kind of action. I think it would be a good idea for the developers to make the world run on its' own and have the DM's *add* to that by introducing player quests, etc. Right now, it's like staring at some gamebooks on your table and marveling over the content, wishing you could actually *play*.
To be fair, there are some *excellent* roleplayers here, but I've yet to see more than ten players logged on at any given time. At this time, I cannot recommend Argyle Online, but hopefully the developers will take my (hopefully constructive) criticisms to heart and make this world all that it could be.

Brilliant server, great players, great environment and great DM's. All PnP based and heck, they do a great job at it. 10 deffinitely.

The player world is extremely unique and demonstrates superiority to the Forgotten Realms through a more parsimonious approach that avoids the convolution of the hundreds of Gods pantheons. The native player base appeals to Role players of high caliber. A sense of intrigue is found through the mystique behind mortal's relationship with the divine, and the distance of sorcery from the mainstream. There is a perpetual sense of wonder once you are submerged in this world. Assiduous work has obviously gone into the conversion of your standard Neverwinter Nights game into DnD 3.5 e, and though many of the features produced by the approach require GM involvement, the GM and staff support is high enough to alleviate this concern.

This is a great sever!
I have been a member of this community for years - even though I didn't have the game until a month or so ago. The setting was that compelling!
Imagine a world where everything, twisting it with their foul magics then being nearly wiped out by a mysterious plauge. The world falls into chaos, and now, some 500 years later, has been rebuilt to a shadow of it's formor glory. Just enough time has passed for the humans to ignore their history, and yet not near long enough for the longer-lived demi-humans their ansestors enslaved and torchered to forget or forgive.
Such is the Land of Argyle; where large feral bands of Halflings protect their home on the plains; where giants, orcs, and goblins roam freely in the evil southern city of Soberdan; where Elves live deep within the Firelight Forest - repelling any outsiders; where a large undead infested cloud hovers over what was once the pennical of human supremacy.
In short a land in need of heros to prevent the decline back into the dark ages of forgetfullness.

The closest representation of 3.5 DnD rules. Lots of hard work has gone into making this world as close as possible to pen and paper games. There is scope for all races and classes, and the racial tension just adds to the intrigue.

Tired of all the servers where people are level 20 after mere weeks? Tired of people running around with unlimited number of magical items? Tired of people respawning? Argyle Online is a world that matches PnP as closely as possible with integrated 3.5 D&D rules. Argyle Online is a unique world where magic is not used freely and openly and racial hatred exists in abundance.

I have been following this world for over 3 years now, and after visiting many other roleplay servers I can safely say that Argyle Online is the place to go if you're looking for some roleplaying fun.

Years of dedication from a fantastic group of builders has led to the creation of a great server. From its realism to its core rules accuracy to its faithful representation of Silver Oak Studios' Argyle setting, Argyle Online is the perfect setting for gamers looking for a low magic, high roleplay campaign server with its own unique history.

This is a hard World to live in but I wouldn't have it any other way. There is a real challenge represented consistantly throughout and Roleplay is the focus.

I looked long and hard for a server that is fun, and filled my need for roleplay. Argyle Online was the only one that i accually had good fun in, and its down to earth kind of DMs and players who roleplays so good that i had to stay. I have been playing Argyle for way over a year and have loved every minute of it.

I've been a part of the Argyle Online's warm and dedicated community since before NWN even appeared on store shelves. The first time I visited their website, I was immediately taken in by the depth of their persistent world - the rich and well placed history, the detailed uniqueness of what seemed to be endless amounts of worldly lore, the great emphasis on roleplaying.

But even today, I'm impressed by the things that the Argyle Online team is able to accomplish, such as the breakthrough in making the server SRD3.5 rules compliant. That's right, Argyle Online is EMPLOYED BY SRD3.5 RULES! Complete with all the skills, feats and spells you could ever hope for, as with a good tabletop game.

I urge y'all to at least come check it out =) What have ya got to lose?

Absolutely the best roleplaying server I've ever had the pleasure of joining. Argyle Online has a very close, warm, and active community, with members who are always willing to lend a hand and help out new players. I wouldn't think of leaving it for any other server =)

I have been playing on argyle since it first came around. It is one of the toughest servers i have played on and the rp is also one of the best. The unique world of Argyle is very different from your average fantasy worlds. It is much darker and harsher. The history is imaginative and breathtaking. But the server is even more. One area Morgenmere makes me think of the lakes of switzerland (i live in switzerland).
What else can i say about the server? It is hard and grim. The RP is excellent and nobody is ever out of character unless running in a quest but only through tells.
The DMs are helpful and extremely resourceful. They go out of their way to accomadate players and their various needs.
