Turmish Lands has always been a vast exploration challenge, something I enjoy. With six or seven full linked servers and dozens of custom modules, there is always a new quest I'm discovering, or something I've decided I'm going to explore as I develop my newest character. With a unique crafting system on thier crafting server, Ormath, finessed into existance by El Magnifico Uno, one can craft truly impressive armor, weapons, jewelry, cloaks, miscellaneous items and wonderous creations of power. Thier EPIC server, Ironfang, is deadly, even to high level EPIC characters, who have not been well designed or equipped with items you craft, or have crafted for you in Ormath. Furthermore, the Memnethian Tower, in Karunth, the Lost City in Gulthmere and other areas really stand out for story, replayability and fun. The many other areas offer replayability and when DMs are active, areas you long since expected were safe and boring, morph into different experiences all together. I recommend you check this place and it's website out.
So Alt when you gonna bring the lands to NWN2. and to the rest HELLLOO. _________________________ I still want to see SUFFERING......

Fabulous server that has more areas than any other I've ever been on. A great community as well

I have added a new Jousting area on Turmish. Right now, this area requires DM intervention to complete a jousting tournament - but we are working on "horsemanship" skills and jousting and bola-duelling will be very much a part of this. If you wish to become a Knight of Turmish, then you need to register and create your character !

Jousting Practice has begun!
If you want to create a Knight or Squire and join in on the fun, log in and check it out!

Not only horses, but a system for jousting tournaments. Play a knight. There are also binding stone tournaments where you capture a monster and bring it to battle for you in the tournament. So, many different things to do that you will not find anywhere else.

This was a phenomenal server when I explored it last. It was huge, complex and one of the best things about it was it's community of interested and interesting characters, thier interactions, squabbles and conflicts all roleplayed well and supported by an active website featuring game inspired recounts of adventures, downtime roleplaying, ongoing character rivalries and the like.
When looking around the net and trying other places, I found very little that held up as well or as long, that entertained so thouroughly as my time at the Turmish Lands. So much so in fact, that I'm trying it again!
Check it out. Give it a little time and you'll be glad you did. :)

Still around after all these years will new and improved areas and events . Still the best .

The new horses are great. On Emerald Isles, you can capture creatures you are fighting in binding stones and recall them to fight for you. There are new areas to be explored and new areas being created. DM lead quests as well as player lead quests for special gems. Come join the fun in The Turmish Lands!!!

I've been here for years and have no need to look for another server.

I've been playing there for YEARS and would Live there if Reality (please pardon my language) would just leave me alone !!!

The best world out there, hands down. Now has player housing and horses. Large friendly community.

Oops! I forgot to mention that we now have THREE crafting systems.
There's also a live DM crafting program set in place there now.
If you like to RP and get unique items, you'll like it.
Posted by DangerousDave at 2007-02-01 05:38:01 Voted 10.00 on 09/03/06
We now have houses (and castles!) on the Alaghon server, and now we have horses!
Come over and mount up! The Jousting Tournament will begin soon, not to mention the races. :)
TTL is currently going through many changes, and a ton of content is going in. If you're looking for a HUGE world to explore, RP and hack and slash in, look no further. TTL has what you're looking for!

This is a great world. There are so many things to do for new players to epic players. There are hundreds of quests and over a thousand different areas to visit. Definately, the best place to play.

I've been playing in The Turmish Lands for years now.Several very fully developed adventures across something like 7 different servers leave plenty of adventure to have fun in.
Of course, the REAL fun is exploring with your friends, and learning from the Vets.

We have some fresh DM blood now (including me!), and we're very "newbie" friendly.
If you like adventure (the largest persistent world I've ever seen by far in the 3+ years I've been playing NWN), optional RP, great hack and slash areas, TWO great crafting systems, housing, and (optional -- no PKing) PvP, this is the place for you.
It has about anything a player could want.
A word about the adventure:
This world is so huge I've played here for years and I'm guessing I've only seen about 75% of it. Now I'm a DM, and I'm still finding areas I didn't see as a player.
And if you see DangerousDave on, send me a message!

Great place, I have traveled this land for many months and have seen but a corner of it. Can be a bewildering to newcomers.

Excellent site. Seem many changes and have provided feed back to DMs and builders. Excellent bug reporting and tracking. Playing for almost 2 years on this sie with excusion to other servers alsong the way. Players make this a good stop and come back to server.

Excellent site, Wife, family and friends hook up on these several servers. I've been to othrr sites that were awsome in world creation as beta tester but with low yield players to the level of Turmish they are not. This is always my favorite when I need to role play

New areas are constantly being added. Overall, a great place to play with new friends you just haven't met yet!

I understand Zmeister's frustration with broken quests: I find them annoying myself.
But Turmish does have a system for submitting bug reports, and it is very effective. I have submitted a great many bug reports, the majority of which have now been resolved. The builder DM's (especially Grand Master Bug-Smasher Eric, go Eric!) *will* go through and fix the bugs, if you take the time to tell them where they are.

Its huge and full of great friendly co-opt role players with DMs chucking things in alot of the time
Posted by Zmeister ( 68.33.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-08-26 20:08:11
One would think that in all that time, some of the multitude of broken Quests would have been fixed.
Played long enough to try three quests, two of them were broken in dialogue. In one, clicking on continue ends the conversation and the quest does not advance. In the other, the Quest giver does not acknowledge that the task is complete, but the Journal updates with a note that says 'This is a placeholder entry'. Nice.
Goblin mine - broken, no Quest completion
Rats under Temple - works
Retrieve book from Library - broken when talking about the book being moved to Planar Studies.
These are all low level quests from the main server. It doesn't really matter if the server has been up for three decades if it has more bugs in the quests than rats in the sewers.
Goodbye

By the way - I checked all places where there are comments on the length of the server - and in all places it states "more than 3 years" which is accurate. I also provide our birthday date. Our server vault is almost 3 years old (we last had to perform a server wipe in November of 2002 due to some bad code with NWN 1.18). Players leave, and return many months later to find their characters intact still.
I don't believe in false advertising either. However, we should certainly be recognized for providing a gameworld to the community for as long as we have - and although there were more ambitious and larger worlds when we first started, those worlds have crumbled to dust many, many years ago. Please, feel free to check our website - you'll see that the oldest posts are more than 3 years old - and the earliest announcements on the Bioware site are also more than 3 years old.
We are the oldest. Thats a fact. TTL came online less than a month after the release of NwN.
We MIGHT be one of the largest - we have 7 servers and more than 2,000 areas to explore. We have countless quests - I estimate certainly more than a hundred. We have 6 DM's that actively develop the server and encourage roleplaying as well as lead adventures.
I recommend you at least try TTL before voting or making comments. Its only fair, given the amount of time we spend in putting this world up for all the players.
Of course, if you DON'T like it - then thats your choice, and you're free to move on !
:)

You're right - I was jumping the gun in the comments.
TTL went online on July 15th, 2002. We recently held our 3rd Birthday celebrations and are now IN our 4th year.
I do not know of any servers that were around on July 15th 2002 that are around in the same form today. That makes us the longest running NWN community, and many of our players have been with us for over two years.
Of course, TTL has changed, has expanded and has had new content added and taken away. However, TTL still maintains its core values, the same rules and the fact that it is open to any NWN player providing they abide by the simple rules posted both on the server and on the website.
TTL is not a hard-core server, it is sometimes attractive to certain powergamers - and we certainly do not prevent these types of players from playing - but we do have a healthy and rich roleplaying community that provides depth to the world.
