Death system is custom. Gamewise characters are moved to a no way out area and their corpses are left on the death place. The corpse can be raised or resurrected by fellows or NPCs or even animated into undeads. Dead character has an option to respawn but the XP loss in that care is dire. Welcome to City of Splendors! This is a persistent role-play world based on the Faer�n city of Waterdeep. A large port city with all sorts of terrain to explore from the seas, city, forrest and mountains with quests galore for all levels and types of characters. In addition, CoS offers some custom benefits in the form of exotic subraces and templates for characters, scripted quests, and much more. This module is the exact copy of the Forgottern Realms book about Waterdeep, its accuracy is amazing, a very detailed world that makes you feel as if you were a citizen of Waterdeep. Impressive work, thumbs up.

Best server ever; it has tons of detail, and offers nearly everything you can hope for. DM interaction occurs often, even in the slightest of ways, with NPC merchants talking of the weather, or Ghosts talking of their past lifes. It is amazing. It is a loving community where you'll be accepted on the spot.

I have stopped playing on ALL my other servers for this one..
I got totally hooked.. The DM's sometimes run a quest everyday - which always seems to be very engaging and origional.
ok, this is a hard core server, but somehow it is better. I have never valued my character so much.
The Roleplayers here are ALL top notch !! And the DM's are the best I have seen.
Last week our beloved dock ward was actually flooded !! water was up to my characters knees.. and then waist while we battled against invading lizard men.
The standard quests are the most origional I have ever seen.. you have to just try some of them to see. Shady characters that enter the 3 pearls will be allowed to participate in some devilry, spoiling an opposing house's grape crops by sneaking into the warehouse and planting larvae.
The world may not be as big as some people might like but it is growing all the time, and we are always discovering new areas on the DM quests..
This is the closest experience I have had to GOOD pnp on a computer. The characters, and the city is soo rich with detail that the game takes on a new feel for me when I play on this server.
Just take a look at the forum and see some of the city history, and the local gossip !! IT all happened in game, and my character is now becoming part of this newly forming history.

A grand server, good player base, excellent DMs with a good sense of humor. The server grows constantly, the quests are hillarious and the large server-wide meta quests are well thought through and compelling.
The only thing that this server lacks a bit are more players. You normally find around 10-15 online in the European timezone but more would certainly be welcome.

City of Splendors is without a doubt the best server I have played in thus far; the player base, while not huge, is large enough to allow for many player-to-player dynamics, and there is quite some room for new players, who are encouraged - by the PW's structure, the DMs and other players - to come into the spotlight and create their own plots. The DMs are readily available, friendly, and usually always willing to help players - be it with advice, roleplaying a particular NPC on demand, or developing a player's idea for a plot. DM quests are created very often, from simple "spicing-up" of existing scripted quests to huge, overarching and deeply engaging storylines which might take weeks, or even months to solve. Scripted quests are likewise very original and thoughtful, tailored for all different sorts of characters, from the sneaky ones to the sorcerous types to the true warriors. Players are strongly encouraged to roleplay, which is the most interesting and powerful aspect of the server itself; the addition of factions, DM intervention and a constant influx of new players adds to the richness of the module.
Overall, a great PW to play in, so definitely worth trying.

A very nice server, with a ton of DM help and many players that provide to the server both ICly and OOCly. US times are a little slow, but Overall the weekends are jam packed

Hello! I just recently discovered this PW, and I can say it's really great. It is very close to the canon, the DMs show a lot of input and make events and quests almost dayly! Also there are some great custom features you don't see everyday. The play experience and the leveling of your character is guided by many complex scripted quests, and once you have some levels, like 5, these quests are really great... you can fight underwater! Or solve puzzles!
Anyway... from my point of view, the only downside is: It can be a bit lonely at times, espcially during the US Timezone... But I have high hopes this should change soon! So see you ingame!
