I would like to try this pw but direct connect gets a server timed out response and I cannot find it on Gamespy.

In the past, I voted 10. At the time this was a great server and a great module. Well worth the haks it took to download. Unfortunately, however, it seems that all good things come to an end. I have found myself leaving this server in responce to some conflicts with the DMs.
The former host, and 2IC, has quit. I don't know who hosts the server now, but I do know that the host's decision to leave was probably influenced by the fact that two players had previously been banned a month earlier. The reason for that ban I do not know either, but the case was handled very unprofessionally with unusually childish comments being published on the forums by the DM who presumably issued the ban.
Another DM was banned only a few weeks later. The ban wasn't officially mentioned on the forums, but unofficially I was told that he was harassing another DM. Strangely enough he has since been let back (not as a DM though) and the person he supposedly was harassing was, as far as I knew previously, a good friend of his.
At this point I gave up and left myself. As blaze007 pointed out in his comment on the 10th of March 2006, very few people still play. Many times I logged on to be the only person online, wheras a year and a half ago there would often be 20 people playing all at once.
This alone did not stir me to write, however. I'm normally not cruel enough to give a negative rating to smite someone after I have left them. However, since leaving more - even worse- things have apparently happened. Apparently yet another player has quit, and this time because he was being harassed by a senior DM. No, not about anything game related, or the usual conflicts that arrise in a game. He apparently quit in responce to ooc insults towards his religion.
Now I don't know for sure whether this actually happened, seen as how I don't play here any more, but I'm getting it from a fairly reliable enough source - one that I hope I can trust. It is at least shocking enough that I'm dropping my rating from a 10 down to a 5. I keep it at a 5 because, though the server is only a small image of what it used to be, the module itself is still great. A lot of work was put into development and there are some interesting (if not controversal) changes to the game rules for mages.
Is AJ's LotR worth going to? Well, I don't think so. The player base and the DMs are no longer what they once were. But if things get cleaned up, the potential remains high. There is no reason why this server cannot return to a 10/10.

This is a fantastic module and the DMs are great... there is only one problem............ Hardly ANYONE plays here anymore !!! Everytime I look there is usually 1 person on and most of the time it has 0 players.... Give this mod a chace, you will not be disappointed.

Has a dedicated DM staff with a world that is very interesting in its layout. The players were easy to get along with and all help you out when you have questions.

Fantastic module. Breath-takingly beautiful areas and fantastic scripting. I have never meet a nicer community of players either.

a premo job done by the designers! lots of good players to help out. There are most of the Tolkien CHARs there to play with. The MOD is HUGE ! I like the fact there IS a map of the MOD availible. The DMs are even nice! A big plus!

I love it. It's changing all the time so it doesn't get boring and predictable. And no army of same-build-clones marching around soloing all the bosses. Been playing there for almost a year and still love it.
