The BloodAxe Realms is a Persistant World Server for the game Neverwinter Nights. The server is based loosely on the Campain World of the Forgotten Realms. Though the areas and lands within are not officially charted anywhere on any maps, most of the staple items, creatures, and dieties follow this genre. Before you awaits the lands known as the BloodAxe Realms. Shrouded in turmoil, forged in conflict and held together by hope, these lands hold many a story and forgotten tale. Time has flowed to the 2nd Age of this land, a time marked by the dominance and eventual downfall of the evil Nojas Keep. Ruled for hundreds of years by hybrid drow, these malignant creatures attempted to overrun the lands and force all the free peoples into slavery, and worse.

It's a shame but looks like BAR 3rd Age is down for the count. If I'm reading the few recent forum posts correctly it sounds as if Taina is rebuilding the 2nd Age mod as Bloodaxe Realms Reborn yes? Good luck all, hope to check it out sometime.

Found 2nd Age at 80.100.213.75:5121 by emailing Arathrya, dunno if that's static or dynamic, but in either case it's not showing up on Gamespy for me in any category. Logged in for a quick checkout and it's immediately apparent that 2nd Age and 3rd Age are (literally) worlds apart.

You can still find it online on Gamespy - it's listed in RPStory listings.

Very very interesting world, quite original compared with many that I've tried. Very low magic so be prepared to craft your gear with CNR. The xp issue that 'complainer' was speaking of below is either not true any more or he just didn't bother to explore ... i'm currently playing an ecl+6 ogre and have made 10th level with much less trouble than on many worlds. Small player base is something I find very attractive after playing numerous large-player worlds for long periods. Pros: monster races, factions, scripted guilds, scripted quests ... all very nice. Cons: somewhat laggy at times (show me a world that isn't lol), epic content not yet put in the mod.

1-5 xp per creature if you play a "power-race"
Don't be drow... or anything they deem "power-race"
You won't get anywhere after level 5...
Low player online count, extreamly extreamly slow progression... unbalenced classes...
And to top it all off, your characters are getting deleted when the "third age" comes.
If your into getting no where on the xp table.. this server is for you.

This is one amazing server!
The incredible dedication of the DMs to assist in making
this the most enjoyable server I have ever had the
opportunity to be a part of, amazing I tell you! This
small group of individuals set off in September 2002 from
our little BloodAxe Guild to create a realm that was more
player friendly. They did it.. they continue to do it, I
was one of the few members that chose to stay with the
other server we came from... Being the most patient of the
group (IMHO), and trying to stay loyal to the first server
I had been a part of. I finally walked away, I couldn't
live like that any more.. I quit playing NWN for a solid
week, almost two.. actually had even gone so far as
installed SIMS Online... don't even get me started.. it was
pretty amazing. I live, eat, sleep and drink NWN. I love
this game.. Been playing pretty much nonstop since July
when I got high speed internet. Anyways, I came back to
see my friends on BloodAxe Realms and found that they have
been working consistently on an amazing place, I should
have stayed with them instead of staying on Urath. But it
took coming back and giving up on my old land out of
stagnation and frustration, to see what could really be
done with this game.
Oh, the adventures I have been on.. the Gods speak to me
(IC) players don't spend their time whining in the forums
left and right.. they play and have fun! The DMs do not
give special priveledges to certain players and they are
absolutely fair. They do not tolerate +blocked+ and turned off
the "shout" for players.. I play, craft, hunt, quest and
simply adventure, without anyone else taking away from my
little reality. There is no greifing.. and praise
Corellon, Moradin and Mielikki! I love these guys!
They have some really amazing areas too.. Trollfoot Swamp,
Great Lake, Breece River, Wicked Wood.. and Sink hole...
Goldport, Grey Moon, Carnn, Nojas.. and the way the Nojas
guards would kill a BloodAxe member on sight.. if it caught
up to them.. OMG! Those guys deal out incredible pain!
All in the fun of the game. Many many many areas... I
haven't even explored yet..
There other Guilds/Clans such as Emerald Conclave, and the
Stonewills and they are just as courteous and organized
within thier areas.. wonderful! With the opportunity to
have their own personal forum thread just for thier members
just like the BloodAxe Guild.
After the Day of Darkness that was a sign of the times..
the areas changed, the BloodAxe Hall was destroyed.. we had
to quest to get it back and the reasons had to be done IC.
Everything seems to happen for a reason and it just amazes
me every day. Last night I lived through the entire
quest.. I was so proud.. till that damn Ancient Wyrm
stomped me into the ground. But we showed some incredible
teamwork and courtesy.. all IC.. all FUN.. noone gets left
out.. we are all important to the quests. :) :)
My son sat on a stool last saturday night.. glued to the
screen, reading the text as we discussed the recent events
of the ongoing reality within this world - with Lucius
(interesting NPC that has his own personality.. gotta love
Lucius) and our newest ally H'ren Lightail of the Lighttail
Lizard Clan (a Lizardman that was attacked by his own kind,
pretty much because he is a more civilized and humane
Lizard!).. it was intense enough that a 14 year old boy
would sit with mom and watch mom and dad play together... I
was shocked.
I just can't say enough great things about this server..
they manage their forums just as well as they do the game
itself and it is SO APPRECIATED.
Thank you to all the DMs and Players that make this server
all it is.. I rate it a 10 and it wipes my old server off
the map for ratings! :)
