Basic knowledge of FR, a curious mind for exploring, and the want to RP. :)
Originally, there wasnt even any land, or even a location suitable enough to build a kingdom like Enlightenment. Alain Fantasia knew this, and therefore, commenced an unimaginable feat. Such a project was a secret even to his brother, Jack Fantasia, who for the longest time didnt even know his brother and some of Alains friends initiated in fashioning a kingdom from literally raw materials. Till this day, how Alain and his friends gathered
up the resources and magic to create the kingdom is unknown. The project
started long before the split of the Weave, and even before the Creator
Races. Jack is under the impression that Enlightenment was made when Faerun
was beginning to form.
Alain and a group of his friends managed to spark a new kingdom, a kingdom strictly fashioned for friends and family at the time. How the individual beings and Alain were able to creating something out of nothing is still a mystery, even to Jack Fantasia, who is older than his brother. Enlightenment is not on Faerun either, but rather, it is its own Demi-Plane in the Prime Material Plane that is located on Faerun. The people apart of the creation of Enlightenment have yet to be discovered, but it is most safely presumed that they were not humans, nor possible of the Prime Material Plane.
Enlightenment has several ways of being accessed. One of which is simple by boat, that which can be sailed West of a citadel known as Candlekeep. Sailing west of Candlekeep one can find Enlightenment, only if the
individual, or group of people, harbor the strong enough desire to reach the
land. Such a trip may take days, while others it may take only two hours,
either way, they all experience the same; A shroud of white mist surrounds
the boat, then the land gets spotted, once the kingdom is found.
The second approach of finding Enlightenment would be by flying. Such a route is similar to that of sailing, only by air. A third path to reach
Enlightenment would be through planar travel, if and only if the proper
conduit is found. The last approach, which is one of the more difficult
approaches, is by simple willing yourself over to Enlightenment.
Circumstances must be met in order for the individual to do this; The person must have at least a little mental description of a spot, must
concentrate on that spot, and their will must be strong enough to do so.
With all these magical properties that Enlightenment is capable of, one
wonders how exactly it all functions. Jack Fantasia himself knows that
Enlightenment harbors a Mythal. The Mythal was created by Alain Fantasia,
but that ultimately killed his brother in the process. Through archives that
Jack has found, he learned of this, though he keeps it a secret. Arch magi
who visit or powerful clerics may be able to detect the mythal and its properties of course, should they even feel the need, but generally, once a
person finds the secret they keep to themselves for not knowing truly what
may happen to them upon speaking out.
Jack doesnt know how Alain fashioned the mythal, but he does know that the
mythal is similar to that of Evereska, only Enlightenments mythals allows the citizens within to be able to fly, climb on walls, and even teleport themselves across the land (Of course Enlightenments mythal holds more properties than Evereska, due to the time of its creation and how magic was more powerful). This extends to all who would wish no severe harm to the lands of Enlightenment.
In the years after Enlightenment was fashioned, and after the death of
Alain Fantasia, Jack got word of his brothers death through Divine
resources. Allies helped Jack discover the land, and from there he
inherited the Kingdom. For centuries the Nymbryxion had been Duke of the
city, and guardian as well. Now however, Jack has given the title up and allowed Democracy to reign, and now he is just Guardian of the rural
regions mostly, only voicing his charismatic opinion with city affairs
should it be crucial. However, Democracy only goes so far, even in a
supposed Utopia. With the Temples and Guilds available in Alusair the main city, being run by powerful individuals, one can only ponder who how far the people truly have a say in things.
((The current Guilds available within the main city, Alusair, are Water's Edge (which is a Casters Guild), and a Thieves Guild. The other organizations would be a Paladin Order that enforces the cities laws, and if someone wants to join one of the other available churches (Talos, Kelemvor, Cyric, Sune, and Bahamut, and much more) they can. Organizations outside of the city can be joining the elven Grove of Corellon, or a Bard's Playhouse. Also for the Drow players...there is an Underdark.))
((The Churches of Lathander, Oghma, and Helm are the main government bodies. They establish the laws and each Temple divides what they do in the city.))
((Many quests can be done in the server, as well as a nice "Creature Pit" (by CFBMoo1) for people to fight custom made monsters. A PvP Arena is available, but RP is still encouraged even in there. There is also fast-resting. It takes 5 or so seconds to rest.))
((OOC Notice: Players do not really know of the mythal. They can obviously tell it harbors some powerful magic, but no one knows why. It isn't unheard of if a powerful arch magi or even a cleric discovering Enlightenment's secret. Mostly, once the info is found, it is kept to themselves on account of not knowing what may happen to them.))
[The forums always has more info. No need to register either for reading. Registration is free though. I will place more of Enlightenments history through in-game plots if it is a necessity.]
Beautiful Forest view. Luonatar Forest is one of the regions outside of the city. The light shinning down through the trees makes it look like a blessed kingdom.
This picture is at a colorful lake, Lake Isabela. The Lake is compiled of many different trees of different colors, a beautiful layout, and a large lake in the center.
This is in the region known as "Dragon Hills". The city ship sails from the Docks of Alusair to this area. Here, the rural regions begin. As does more adventure. My character (Jack) is looking to the boat that sails back.
The two black-winged beings are Guardians. They guard the entrance to the Underdark portal as one may be able to tell. This is one of the most important quests in the server, as it leads to the Underdark. The location is hidden and only exploring will reveal it. I got lucky with Finger of Death on one of the beasts.
This server sounds very good. I tried to reach it through direct connect, but it didn't seem to work. Is it down right now or something?

Of course, being a devoted player, I only have good things to say of Enlightenment, such as the whimsical, unique building, the useful scripting, the most creative and truthful RP imaginable, and the kind players and staff, this server compares to that of the ever famous "Netheril" by Velken. * nod nod *

I greatly enjoy it. The server is vast and filled with a variety of things to do, both solo and grouping. The biggest plus is that the people there are friendly and welcoming.

Enlightenment is really fun to play if you're into jumping right into some great and in-depth RP. You don't have to worry about level grinding and such, as you can jump in with a pre-made character. The fear of local vault is also diminished as there's a filter to take out immunities, true seeing, regeneration, and other PvP killers that can be stuck on items. Really a great place to play.

As the screen shots show, the server is done really well! The people who rp there do an excellent job. The server is fun, and is great for a character of any race/alignment. It's easy to enjoy, and I'm really glad I started playing here!

Masterfully created, a wonderful host and friendly player base. This place will keep your interest high if RP is your choice of fun.

Although its still in development, Enlightenment shows to have a lot of promise and is already one of my favorite servers. A very good community of rpers hang at Enlightenment, and it's always fun to talk to them. There is always a nice mix of OOC and IC activities, but no matter what, the server always remains fun.
