Death & Dying
-------------
If you are below 5th level, you will automatically respawn.
If you are 5th level or above, you will leave your gold and your gear behind while your soul travels to the fugue plane.
One in the fugue, you have two options.
1. You can wait for someone to raise your body, at which point you can pick up your gear and get on with things.
2. You can choose to raise yourself. In this case, you will be sent back to the beginning. The XP penalty is the same. The only difference is that this way, you have to find a way to get your gear back.
Upon ressurection, you will lose 100xp per level.
Characters who are below 10th level can not lose a level due to death.
Characters who are above 10th level may lose a level due to death.
If you chose a deity upon character creation, there is a small chance that your chosen deity will turn their eye toward you. If they do, they will save you from the fugue plane and grant you sanctuary. Use this time to retreat to safety!
Subdual Mode
------------
In Borgo, all characters start out in Subdual damage, which makes it more difficult to kill another player.
This can be toggled on/off with an inventory item. There are various stages of "knocking someone out"
Bleeding System
---------------
If your character reaches 0 hp, they will start to bleed to death, losing one hitpoint per round. If you reach -10 before being helped, your character will die.

Hands down the best PW I've ever played on. Great players, great staff, well thought out areas, excellent design work. Features CNR, CEP, Diavlen's Lycan scripts, and Diavlen's teleport stones. Custom items and monsters. Top notch world in my honest opinion.

I've been playing at Borgo Pass for 4 1/2 years. I can't say I like everything about it, but it is a very good world overall.
I post a rating of 9, because the shear volume of good that overwhelms the bad happenings (inconveniences).
Borgo does have some very tough areas, but it is not hard to lvl to at least lvl 20, it is a little harder as one progresses upward.
Leveling to 5 can be done in an hour, and to 3 can be done by killing only 3 zombies.
Those that tried and were frustrated could do well by giving it another go, and don't be affraid to ask for help. Many there will give another a hand if approached.(it sometimes takes more than once to someones attention, but keep trying)
Borgo changes constantly, and player input is what drives it.
P.S. I am not a DM nor a project member...a better info system for geographics is being worked on already. It pays to explore the starting area.

For the past five years or so I've been playing at Borgo pass and it just keeps getting better. I think Myst hit the nail on the head. We have a great community. Keep up the good work everyone.
Quicksilver, thanks for the suggestion. If you have any more suggestions, feel free to email us. We can only fix things if we know about them. I'll work on adding more map pins and placards. Our email is nwn at carfaxabbey dot net.
It sounds like you're a bit frustrated. Remember that Borgo Pass is meant to be a challenge. _________________________ Borgo Pass PW Link

Anyone NOT a DM or project member voting 10? Where are the damned map pins? Or, if you hate map pins, where are the placards that say "Hey folks, this here's a store!" Just how hard is it to add a placard when you're working an area? Without some idea of where you are, the world is a big, empty frustrating place.

I've been on this server since NWN debuted in stores. It's without a doubt one of the most dynamic and progressive servers up and running. There are so so many areas on this server that you do feel immersed in a fantasy world. The world builders are always coming up with plots, area changes, and from time to time a contest which yields a choice prize. The people of Borgo pride themselves on the fact that they've created a community, and that is so true. They are always welcoming visitors to stick around, take up residence, and join in an adventure. A true gem!

The server is very fun to play on, there isn't a horrible long list of rules you have to follow and everyone is pretty friendly too ^^, have to say that the lycanthropy system is the best I have seen out there too!

Great server, offers crafting, housing, rp and much more. It has all the qualities I was looking for. It is really nice to own your own house and be able to store your hard earned loot. I have really enjoyed myself on this server. I have been playing on the server for approximately 6 months and I must say these are a great bunch of people. Friendly, helpful, informative etc. Come join us

Very fun, stable system. The ever growing world keeps you on your toes. Never any down time in this PW. There is always someone online to challenge, assist, or what not.
Can't wait to see what happens with the new NWN2.

opps almost forgot.
Not perfect, nothing is.
The folks tend to spend a lot of time tweakin it here and there.
Large areas to see.
Quite a few areas you don't want to go solo, or unless you are a party of epics.
A new area was recently added that will shorten the leveling time if one is carefull about it.
