This is a Fey'ri custom race created to be used with CODI Character Creator v1.2 and NWN:SoU+HotU v1.61. The hakpack must be placed in the proper folder, as well as the dialog.tlk. The hakpack MUST be imported into the module for you to be able to use the character created by CODICC v1.2. [OK..a little side note here...the above works OR you can unload the fey'ri.hak into the override folder and that will work too, at least that way you can use it with any module without having to import and rebuild the module] Hope you enjoy it! Any questions, comments, please email me with FEY'RI in the subject line.
Where do you find the CODI Charater Creator... I tried searching for it, but nothing with that name came up. _________________________ -- Luckly for you I've got morals ... I couldn't for the life of me tell you want they are, but I'm pretty sure I've got some --

guess i am a little behind te times... hak doesnt work anymore
To extract the contents of a Hak file, do the following:
Go to your NWN\utils directory and run the nwhak application.
Open the Hak by selecting file (at the top), then open. Select your hak and hit the open button. To extract everything, hit the resource tab and select "export all." Choose your destination directory (such as the override). that's it! You can also highlight just the files you want (and not the whole hak) by highlighting the individual files and selecting "export" (NOT "export all").
There's also a utility available here on the vault called nwpacker that will do the same thing. It's slightly more user friendly.
Hope that helps! :)

.RAR is a compression utility that is pretty standard for these types of file. do a search for winrar over the internet to find a copy to down load. it is free to use but you have to pay to register it I think its like $20 to register?

Everyone one is talking about the file as if it is a HAK. But my comp. says it is a .RAR file. Also, neoshade, I tried your tip for opening the file with NWHAK, but apparently it is an invalid file. Did I download something wrong, or was there something I missed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time

No problem! In the x:\...\NWN\UTILITIES\ directory(I think that's the name of it!) there is an utility that allows you to edit and create HAKs. Open the fey'ri.hak with that program, right-click on the particluar file you want to remove, and it will give you the option to REMOVE. Left-click on REMOVE and it will as you where, just point to the OVERRIDE directory and click ok/yes. Do that for everything in the fey'ri.hak.

Thanks, Ill try that. One more thing- when you put the files from the hak into overide-do you simply put the whole hak in overide or must you take files out? How do you take files out (you can point the way to a tutorial if you know of one)
thanks again

All I did was place the dialog.tlk in x:\...\NWN\ directory, make sure you back up your original. Then, place the fey'ri.hak in the x:\...\NWN\HAK\ directory. When you open the module and go to add the custom content, it should be lsited in the drop down box. Once you select it, click the ADD button. There is no custom .tlk file. Then rebuild the module and save.
I tried this with the Prelude module for the original campaign. It worked after I selected my pre-made character that was created using CODI CC v1.2. The only problem that I came up with was that I got a lot of errors during the rebuild. I didn't notice anything wrong while playing though. This might be due to the rebuild trying to reference material meant for SoU and HotU.
A second, easier way, that I found for adding the character, is to dump all the contents of the fey'ri.hak into the x:\...\NWN\OVERRIDE\ directory. That way you don't have to touch your module. Just create the character using CODI CC v1.2. Start the game as normal, select your module, instead of creating a new character, select a premade character, find your Fey'ri character and play. Worked fine for me. Although I made sure that my dialog.tlk and racialtypes.2da matched the ones that came with the game, and were updated to 1.61 by Bioware, exactly, except the fey'ri content that I added at the end of the file. That way, when the nodule looks for the info it needs to run itself, it's still there, but the Fey'ri stuff is there too, only at the end of the file. I think this can be applied to any custom race and should work.
I knwo this was long, but I hoped it help you out. Thanks for trying my .hak!

Where do I put the tlk. so the toolset can see it when altering a mod to use the race? Theres nothing to choose in the custom content tab- the dropdown for custom tlk is empty.
