HAMATULA HAKPAK (Based on Bioware's Troll model) v1.0.0 by Magma
The Hamatula, or Barbed Devil, is a humanoid creature covered in sharp barbs and spines. They constantly seem on edge, eyes darting around nervously. Because of their expertise (and enjoyment) in impaling opponents on their natural weaponry, they are often employed as protectors of important people, and of locations such as vaults and tombs. Of course, as with all devils it is always best to examine the contract of employment very carefully. The model in this Hakpak was based on the new v3.5 Monster Manual illustration, modelled from the Troll model.
The Hak 2da's are for v1.61 with SOU+HOTU - If you don't have SOU+HOTU installed there will be a bunch of new but blank creature appearances/portraits you cannot use, but other than that there is no impediment. The demo module and ERFs are SOU+HOTU only. Included are two .erf file with as close to the correct 3eMM stats as I could get. The Hamatula is v3, the Greater Hamatula is really the v3.5 Hamatula. The 'Barbed Defence.txt' file contains the OnPhysicalAttacked script for the Greater (v3.5) Hamatula. A list of things that have not been included is in the zip file. Changes in this version include added skills from Hordes of the Underdark, and a better Barbed Defence script.

Great model. Hardly know it was a troll. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

I like the lashing tail and the jittery hand... makes the model look really high-strung and on-edge.
You mentioned in the readme that the 3.5e hamatula .erf didn't include Scorching Ray. If you want to do a 3.5e hamatula in NWN, just give it Flame Arrow, the spell that Scorching Ray replaced. The only mechanical difference between the two is the spell level. Well, technically one's a ray and the other's an "energy missile," but that doesn't matter in NWN.

Great work Magma! I am a big fan of all your devils and plan on using them along with the CODI stuff eventually...

The current poly count is 1430. Without the spikes it is 950. I originally wanted there to be more than a hint of spikes but still a low enough number to render. I was a bit worried about the poly count, but I'm always willing to take on criticism if it helps improve my contributions to the community. If people find that it causes a performance hit due to the spikes I'll gladly strip half of them out and see how that goes.

looks great,
how many polys is it though with all those spikes?
