Description
This hak includes just about every weapon model that I like (and had room for) on the vault. The hak is fully compatible with HotU and overwrites only a small amount of content (as noted in readme). I can't even begin to imagine all of the possible combinations of weapons that this Hak allows for. The hak also adds more than a dozen new weapon and item types including: the trident, picks, short and long spears, falchions, mauls, heavy maces, and greathammers to name a few. Also included is over 300 hundred shields!

The included erf file contains blueprints for some of the weapon models included in this hak. The item blueprints themselves have been collected from many sources. Although most of the blueprints are ready as is, others have simply been added to allow for quick examination of the contents of the hak. Furthermore there are quite a few blueprints for non-weapon items that utilize no new custom content. The erf is intended primarily as a means to examine the contents of the hak and although it may be considered an item prefab, some additional work may need to be done before these items are ready to go. The erf and demo module were created with HotU and therefore require it to work. The JXP_Armory hak should work for both SoU and HotU, though some content may be missing when used with SoU (4th weapon color?, whips?).

Included in the demo module are some scripted weapons. Three primary scripts are utilized. One placed in the OnHit event for placeable objects (ondamage_effects), one script overwriting the default creature OnDamaged Script (nw_C2_default6), and one script for undead creatures in their OnDamaged Event (ondamage_undead). The scripts are easy to manipulate, and it should be a simple process changing and adding weapon effects. Im not sure who created the scripts but I thought I would include them anyway. Try them out in the Special Weapons room in the demo module. Sorry no screenshot. It wouldn't do the content justice. Check out the Readme file for complete details. 2/3/04 Update - Added some new ring icons(by Laurelin) and book icons(by Danmar) and modified the baseitems 2da to fix the DOA Base Items. Enjoy JDPuffnStuff

Hey guys and gals
Sorry I havent been checking these post. I have been away from NWN for the past several months and unfortunately do not at this time know when I might get back to work on the JXP Series. Hope everyone is still enjoying the haks and continuing to expand on the NWN universe. Though I will not at this time be providing support for the JXP series of haks, I would appreciate suggestions for expanding the series when work does continue. Take care all.

Hi JD,
Great stuff but I had a question for you. Are you going to add in the alienist robe and Lisa's greek expansion as well as Depheant's new weapons? If you do that would be great.

I really appreciate all your work so far combining many of the great haks into modular haks.

Just wanted to let you know JD that I downloaded ALL your stuff and plan on utilizing ALL of it. Thanks for taking the time to DO all that you do. Great combos, great hak paks. Well done, pat yourself on the back. I know not alot of people show their appreciation (god knows I have had more then My fair share of unappreciative whelps on My stuff) but there are some that do and I hope that We show enough appreciation to drive you to conitnue to do all that you do.

Take care,
MG

HobbishMentat

- I just did a quick test with the exact file that was uploaded and everything was working fine for me. I checked the 2da file as well and everything is OK. Hopefully by the time you read this post it will have worked itself out.

Hmmm...now this is odd. Yesterday I downloaded the latest version of your hak, and I've just noticed that all the new weapon types that were added have disapeared. Is this just me, or did something you did to the baseitems.2da screw it up? Everything else still works fine, the new weapon types just aren't there.

Posted by JDPuffnStuff ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2004-02-08 07:34:00
yes
- The tridents can be made with the item wizard. Simply choose trident from the list and your good to go. I just tested this again (with SoU and Hordes) and it seems to be working fine. As far as missing models, you must be referring to the 4th weapon color for some of the weapons. This is not a bug. It just happens that many of the original content creators only had three color options when making their stuff. With patch 1.61 Bioware added a fourth color option that many of the original content creators have not yet made use of. In some cases I have and others I have not. Shouldn't be anything missing. Not from what I can see. If you still think there are things missing, you should first check the detailed readme to see if that part is referenced. If its not in the readme it probably is not meant to be there. Hope that helps.

Excellent work but the tridents seem to be missing as well as alot of the model numbers for some of your items.

Has this hak been updated yet? I love the JXP_Base hak, by the way. :D I'm using it in my upcoming module series. The first one should be due out within the week.

Arkangyl
- Hey thanks for the heads up. It probably would have taken a while for me to realize that the DOA Base Items was not working. Fixed it though. In my haste I failed to completely add DOA's baseitem 2da entries. I'll update the hak and add a patch whereby the single 2da file can be updated manually. I was a little unclear about what erfs you are having problems with. If you mean the erf I included, then something is wrong. If your reffering to original erfs that may have come with the original content then thats another story. Few of the erfs created (except for shadowhawk, his content has been modified the least) by the original content creators should work. This is to be expected when combining this sort of content. Unavoidable unfortunately. Let me know and thanks again.

Couple things, though, first off, thanks for taking the time and effort to compile all of these nifty weapons, shields, and inventory pix. I know *very well* the time it takes to do this. heheh I am just sad I cannot use this as it is missing some things I like and has a lot of things I unfortunatley do not need for my campaign. It is /was *great* though for previewing a ton of content I had missed and allowed me to decide on adding a few additional packages to my own various compilation haks I have for my guild and campaign(s). You have without a doubt saved some people a tremendous amount of time in combining, and of course allowed those who don't know how to / or won't combine to have access to all of this content. Thanks.

Oh, Christopher, his readme in the download covers all content. It really is a bit much to list here though take his word that he grabbed most of the community's content with only a few exceptions.

Hey, JD, OK, a couple things I noticed. Unless I am mistaken the DOA_BaseItems 2 are half-broken. I did not open your 2da file to check against nor see if their models were all in your hak. All I know is that about half the items that should show up as models and not the loot bags don't. Bracers, cloaks, rings, books, healing kits, boots (I think), etc. I know traps, gems, a lot of the components, etc. do though so maybe just some models are missing from the hak or some lines in the 2da got missed in altering. Also, and I fully realize you just imported author erf files, but when you adjusted the 2da file, it caused some of the erfs to not be correct in that the correct models don't show for all the prefab items. I know, I know, not the end of the world, but I was typing so slipped this in also. You put so much work into this, I wanted to let you know asap so you could fix things as this is a large download. Let me know if you need a hand. ^_- Thanks again!!

Oh thanks JD! Your whole concept of the JXP Paks is great! I know a little of what it takes to do this (time consuming) and appreciate all of your effort...

For the most part (speaking of all of your haks including this one) I won't need alot of other custom content...

You really have included all of the best in my opinon. :)

Thanks again for your tireless work, which ultimately is the best on the vault are far as compilations go... and far surpasses anything I ever compiled!

Good luck, and hope to see more.

Could you tell us how you went about this? Who you added? Meaning did you build of of ShadowHawks base then just sort them along? Did you just pull together all your favorites?

Thanks
(Love your combo tilesets!)
