Title  JXP_Master Compatibility Pack
Author  JDPuffnStuff
Submitted / Updated  02-17-2004 / 02-17-2004
Category  Other
Expansions  HOTU-1.61
Description
Included in this package are several haks that will insure compatibility between common combinations of my JXP Builder haks. Not all combinations are included. That is to say I haven't created haks to support every combination. Any JXP hak will in fact work with any other JXP hak with only some minor 2da file editing. I simply put these haks together to make things a little more user friendly for the community. Also included are files to insure compatibility between my JXP Builder Series and the Elven City Tileset by Little Baron & Pogo Mudder as well as the CODI/Daggerdale Swamp Tileset by ILmaTeR. I personally will be using these two tilesets with my JXP haks so I figured I may as well release the files that make this content compatible. See the readme for complete details on how to use these files.

The JXP Builder Set is an attempt to create a modular system of haks that combine common custom content into haks that can be used individually as is and together to form a basis for world creation. By grouping the content together in this fashion it is much easier to update, add, and insure compatibility of all the material involved. The JXP Builder set was created for my own personal NWN creations and as such will be updated with material I deem worthy and need. Just thought someone else might get some use out of them. Thanks to all of the builders who contributed to the creation of these haks. They, not I, deserve full credit for the contents of these haks.

*Add-Ons Supported* - Elven City Tileset by Little Baron & Pogo Mudder - CODI/Daggerdale Swamp Tileset by ILmaTeR - Lisa's Clothes Horse HotU

I just noticed an oversight. After adding all of your tilesets (nice work), I noticed that lava does not shoot up geysers, and there is no placeable to do so. The only way to get lava that spits is to use the stock dungeon tileset. Any chance that the lava in the mines and caverns can be tweaked to geyser automatically like that?

Man If you could make your set of haks CEP compatible... that would be a godsend... PLEASE!

Hey guys and gals
Sorry I havent been checking these post. I have been away from NWN for the past several months and unfortunately do not at this time know when I might get back to work on the JXP Series. Hope everyone is still enjoying the haks and continuing to expand on the NWN universe. Though I will not at this time be providing support for the JXP series of haks, I would appreciate suggestions for expanding the series when work does continue. Take care all.

Hi JDP!

Your Tilesets are really sweet man! I´ll use them for my mod for sure. Will you update your master hak, so that it will be CEP compatible? Some of the stuff is missing when i´m using your tiles along with the CEP...

As I stated below, I have added additional haks. I have a module I am building and can 'test' it with those who have the haks needed.

In addition, any plans to incorporate more things JDPuffinStuff? Especially the ridable horses, elven stuff (I know that you have allowed for elven tile set etc...but what about a complete hak?)?

Posted by JDPuffnStuff ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2004-03-03 07:05:00
Sorry Phil

There is no test module except the module/world I am currently working on. As far as releasing that...It will be a while before it is ready.

Hello JD, Is it possible that I could get your base module you test with. Please email me your response.

Smitty

The JXP_Master hak includes files that act as master copies of files that are included in several or more of the JXP haks. The JXP_Master hak needs to go at the top of the order when building your mod to insure that the included master files are given the highest priority. As far as other resources conflicts, don't worry. In order to make the entire JXP Series both useable whole and in pieces, many of the haks contain some of the same files. This has never been a problem. I do recommend a preferred building order in my readme and I suggest it because it is the order that I use (and test) and makes the most sense to me knowing what is included in the haks. Furthermore, if you encounter any missing resources when building your mod, don't worry. It's normal. All this is of course assuming that you are only using my JXP haks and are not having conflicts with other haks.

Happy Building!

I get a lot of resource conflicts when I attempt to use the haks in conjunction with Master_compatability_d. Is this normal?

That's because it's a great goal: to have nice stuff that a large portion of the community has and uses.

I love the tilesets; JD, keep up the great work.

- Thats exactly what you should do. Place all of the elven files in your JXP_Master_d hak. You will need to overwrite the doortypes 2da. Make sure you check the notes in my readme about the included edge file. It is optional and not completely tested. Its easy to remove though if you decide you don't want it. I have not at this time added the elven 'extras'. I just plain forgot to include those particular files. I will update the files in the not to distant future.

Posted by Ambrose at 2004-02-18 09:12:00
Awsome, I have already installed the haks and have all your haks working together.

As for the 2da files, you mean I have to open up the orginial master hak (I am using hak_d) and place the elven 2da in there? I am totally new to this 2da stuff so any help would be appreciated. Does this include the elven 'extra's hak as well?

Once again, thanks for taking the time to combine all this great content. If a lot of people DL and use these haks then we will have some amazing NWN modules and worlds.

AWSOME WORK!

- If you are using all of my haks then I assume you are using one of the JXP_Master haks that are included in this package. This hak should be given higher priority than the rest of JXP Haks. The statement in question refers to the files that make the elven city compatible with the JXP Haks. They are included in a seperate folder. The best way to use these files is to (not two; my bad) place them in the JXP_Master hak you are using. As far as the heads go, you can keep them in hak format and place them anywhere in your order of haks or extract them into your override folder. I believe, but am not sure, that players will not be able to use the heads in character creation if they are not in the override folder.

Happy Building

First off, thanks for combining all this great work.
I just have one question, what does this mean from the readme file?

"These files can be used in several ways but the easiest and safest is two simply drop them in the JXP_Master hak you are currently using."

I am planing to use ALL your hak packs PLUS the elven city and extras. I DL your files and have the 2.da files but not sure where I put them.

PLUS, I am assuming the heads hak goes last?

Thanks again.
