This is a demonstration of modifying a PC base animation to allow jumping. It's purely a demonstration at this point - don't expect anything fancy. The actual animation is really basic, mostly a proof of concept. There are also some animation timing issues that I'm not sure are resolvable.

I had an idea to allow for jumping. you might designate placebles that allow a player to jump from one to another, upon a successful jump check, provided that the placables are withing range of each other. The player would enter the start space, and click on the destination- triggering the check. On success you could play the success animation, and on failure, of course the failure animation.
They could be invisible, and allow for vertical or horizontal jumps.I'm no pogrammer though, so I don't know if I'm full of it or what.

wow.....
think of the ways you could commit suicide with this!
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 4 that made this score of 6.25.

FWIW: This is a great start on a crucial problem with NWN. Maybe a shorter jump would look a little better. Adam, you might try this: In thge forest tileset, put two 'forest' diagonal to two 'pit'. The resulting gap is a much shorter, jumpable distance. Works as well with diagonal 'grass' near 'water' in the rural tile set, and (I imagine) it works with diagonal 'raised terrain' in the rural tileset. Good luck getting this to work - it is the kind of improvements to game mechanics that can lead to really cool emergent gameplay.

One step closer to being able to jump into a lake and go
for a swim.
