This is an excellent bank system still in development. I've been a professional developer for 9 years so check it out and tell me what you think and what you would like to see in the way of changes. Here it is you have 3 objects: a bank ledger (on your person), a banker and safety deposit box. You use the ledger to review what you have on deposit. You use the banker and the safety deposit box to store and retrieve your gold and items. It will not be exploitable. in release. Model based partially on inspiration from Harry Potters banking experience with goblins. Let me know what you want - email is best - though I will check back on this post regularly for as long as its live. Just download the zip. Load the mod test the system real quick try to break it. It works prefectly in single player /w saves etc not sure for multi. Thanks, let me have some input and send requests for non-bank and bank related additions to my email. -Khonius
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 3 that made this score of 10.00.

This could really be awesome, I love the idea. I do have a problem though. Very often, I get locked out of the room and the accountant tells me that he's busy with Accountant now. I tried it a few times and I was able to both deposit and withdraw one time, then he declared he was busy and punted me from the room. Not sure what I did wrong, I was able to duplicate the error a few times no matter what I touched or did. But I really think this is a cool addition, especially if it will be modified for PWs someday!

well i was hoping there was some way to save in
multiplayer. if we could just save the state of the game we
could store variables and whatever else we wanted on some
persistent object in the world. otherwise i'll have use the
pw db or something. i thought about using it but it seemed
like a lot of overhead just to save a few variables. i
think i'll be writing something similar to pwdb but perhaps
a bit more optimized. stay tuned.

If only it worked in multiplayer... I'm glad someone
finally decided to try a persistent bank but I tested this
in multiplayer quite a few times and it assuredly does not
work at all. Since banking in singleplayer seems to be
redundant since you can save the game anyways I'm hoping
that the multiplayer portion of this is further developed
as that is where it is truly needed.

Taras,
Thanks for the constructive comments. I guess the only
question I have is this: If I am hosting a game, do I have
the capacity to save it as I do in a single player
adventure? In other words if I can save a hosted game on my
server? will dead monsters remain dead etc? I should know
myself but I lost my cd-key so I haven't been able to log
into multi-player yet this time around (I re-built my box
and it has been a while since I logged into a multi-player
game).

Great idea, but I seem to be having trouble. When I
deposit my items that are in my safety deposit box, they
seem to vanish without my ledger being updated and I cannot
retrieve them.
In PW worlds, banks cannot be saved as efficiently as
is needed (due to some limitations of the NWN enigine I
guess) and if the server crashes, all the items/money held
there is lost (at least up until the last time the world
saved). From what I have read there is a way to open a
saved game within the editor (by naming the saved game
from .sav to .mod) and then having dynamic entities (like
bankers) exported into a .erf and used later. I have
played with this a little and seems to work fine.
Your system is superior to anything I have played with
yet and I for one would like to see what it can become.

Haven't tried it yet... Busy developing myself, but as
soon as I get a chance, I'll give you some comments that
actually mean something.
Thanks for posting your work, look very forward to poking
my nose into it.
