Does your army need a Standard? I've created one for you that is held in the off hand as a torch and whips around nicely in the breezes. Also there is a matching placeable for your camp or castle.****************This cool idea was originally submitted to me by BlackFang88 *********Small update, added ambient, diffuse, specular to the flag nodes to brighten up the back faces. June 26, you should redownload the hak and use the new models. Thanks to Gestalt for noticing.
Included are 8 'Risk' inspired banners in both carried and placeable formats. Both kinds whip around nicely in the breezes (will be stiff indoors or in other windless areas).*****************The README file includes complete directions on how to PERSONALIZE the logos for your mod and how to make multiple versions for your opposing armies. Especially, since mine are, well a little girly maybe ;)
How to use my flags: Put the hak in your hak folder, the erf in your erf folder. Add the hak to your module, save (rotate save name always when adding haks just in case)Reopen module, import 'Lisaflags.erf' and my default flag should show up under custom 'items_misc_other'and custom 'placeables_Pennants&Signs'********************* Notes: When on the ground the shaft of the torch version is slanted and partially underground. When in the toolset the NPC will not hold the banner aloft but when the game is run they will!*****************SoU 2da replacements zip, Important to read directions for use! Note it is not 'ready to use' you must choose/edit what you need and form a hak pack. If you have NWN 1.3, follow the same directions to make new files.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 15 that made this score of 5.53.

Hey Lisa,
Thanks for all the great products, and thank you for making them so adaptable. I took one of your banners and changed it to the White Tree of Gondor in only about 5 minutes, which was a miracle for me. We appreciate your efforts!

I love this... I wanted it, and now I see it. The same goes for most of the work you do. The things that you've created were desprately needed by everyone to make their games more interesting. I'd just like to take this opportunity to tell you that I'm very grateful you decided to share your great talent with this community. Thank you.

Awesome work as usual, Lisa. You are really credit to users, everywhere, who educate themselves to a particular end and wind up being an inspiration to others!..

Wonderful standards Lisa!! Just what I've been waiting for. Would it be possible to get the flag to flap behind when running with it? It looks like a different animation when running that puts the flag slightly forward of the holder.
Thanks Lisa, great work as usual :)

No problem, glad I could help.
Just so you know, I'm using these flags in a new RTS style module. Each army has a banner which gives a morale bonus to nearby troops and, thanks to this hak, players can pick up their army's banner and carry it around with them, then plant it again somewhere else on the battlefield and use it as a rallying point for their troops.
I looked at a few flag packs for use in this mod, and yours was perfect - I'm using the snake and dragon designs, as they were the least "girly" looking. ;) Hopefully I'll have some screenshots posted soon showing the flags in action.

Need a staff version with dark metal instead of gold and wood instead of white

Finally got it. I was replacing "torch_0xx" instead of just "0xx" so I ended up missing the bitmap parts. Oops!!

When I say "open the mdl files, and the pwk file" in the directions, you don't need a special program. Use Notepad! and follow the directions in the readme about what lines to change.

As always, very nice. Working on a nice batch of FR flags for these. I'm curious though, how do you link the texture to the model? I need about 4 or 5 more flags beyond the 7 you inlcuded. Tried creating new textures (easy) and then simply copying "torch037.mdl" and renaming it to "038". Doesn't quite work that way apparently. Unfortunately don't have a 3d program to open and dissect the models with. Any suggestions?

Ochimo,
What is the area light setting? When a character faces different directions objects will be differently lit based on the sun/moon and shadows. If you have a dark area a dark image will not show up well. You make your area light settings with properties. You can preview your settings in toolset mode. Sounds like the banner is in shadows.

BoromirNo1,
No apologies needed, this is my first foray into making sort of an "interactive" hak. I figured everyone could make up their own cool banners and that would be better than me picking a few and everyone being stuck with the same few ones.
If you or anyone runs into problems adding different pictures - email me. Hopefully, once you have your images, substituting them into the hak will be easy! If you find you are totally hopeless, send me your images in a zip and I will be happy to help.
Tuyen,
Actually when BlackFang first requested a Banner that was the style he requested - but then he changed his mind and wanted them done horizantally as you see them in this hak. I probably could make a vertical Banner version pretty quick I think so you may see one in a few days. I'll make them so you can PERSONALIZE the logos too.

ooops... the link doesn't seem to work...
So I suggest U select the URL, copy and paste it in the space where you usually write a web adress... sorry for the bug!

Ahh!!
This kinda serves me right for posting before I actually looked at the hak itself. My apologies. I will now slink away and read the readme. Hopefully I will be able to modify these without too much trouble. Thanks Lisa.

Lisa, you rule. Just finished my hak of personalized flags. Took about half an hour! It's based on the eight kinds of placard, in the Toolset under Placeables/Signs. It's 3MB. If anyone is interested, post e-mail here.

Forget about the program.
Just remembered of IrfanView. :)

GREAT!
Lisa shows once more her greatness for creating new items. By the way, can you tell a good program for creating .tga files?

Da'Hak
There is a matching placeable verson of each of the flags in this hak so you don't need a null human to hold them (unless you want to.) I had the same idea that one would want a flag placed at a castle or army camp.
For the open coat look, get the Necromancer pack. I think his numbers overlap mine, but there are some combo packs out there too.
UOAbigail,
I know, too much stuff LOL. It's just other than NWN, I haven't found a decent game to play in almost a year. IWD2 but it was short. My main computer hobby is now making NWN stuff rather than playing games (Oops!) Making things relaxes me after work. I think the models here took about 2 hours to make is all - now that I am getting pretty good with the software. I already had the pictures so I used them because I wanted people to try out customizing with their own pictures.

Lisa i said " good work" and i didnt said your stuff is ugly i said pictures on your tapestri and banners are ugly the beauty is relative but i dont dream a castle or a battle with a banners monkey with superman cloak...aniway good work again PEACE
