Its released! Yes, I know, finally. The Desert(s) and drylands will finally come to life with this extensive Desert City tileset. If you have followed along during the news releases, you know what to expect. If not, check out the condensed screenshots. Read the readme file included in the RAR file, you need WinRAR to decompress this hak pak and custom music (3 custom .bmu files included).
Its finally here, I have tested this extensively, but bugs always pop up, so if you discover one, please email me with the details. I will correct any that do rear their ugly heads. This tileset should add some extensive ambiance to any of your desert quests. Read the readme file, some Groups peek out the polys (there is one 7x7 Group of an Arabian Palace that should be used sparingly on slower machines/weaker grahpic cards). This tileset is being included in the Faerun Nights project at their site. Thanks goes out to their members for support. This tileset also looks great with Brandon's Camera Hak or the Camera Release option.
Also, watch for add-ons. This thing could grown into a beast for sure. The add ons will be released in add on hak paks, not to this one, so people can pick and choose which ones to use. Please report any bugs to me so they can be corrected. This hak pak works with SOU/HOTU or without.
Thanks MGSkaggs for all your hard work - I am new at this building and need all the help I can get - I building a world name Zaltana and am hosting it now! I vote 10 for all your hard work! _________________________ Link

I love Arabic tilesets! Any thoughts on putting one together for NWN2?
I am quite new to this module stuff. I have been working on a module for two weeks and everything seems to be going pretty well. I did as instructed to put the hak document in hak folder and the music in the music folder. But when I open a new area in my module, I don't see the arabian/desert tile sets and music...
Is there something I must do to my module preferences to put something in another folder so that my existing module had the new tile set and music options?
I am working with the NWN 1 diamond edition toolset.

Apologies re. Underdark reference - I had confused this with Pasilli's Desert City. However, this is *still* awesome. Love the Castle and Courtyard groups especially. :) _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset

Just lovely! In particular, all the new tiles are very well done. The combined effect of those tiles with the standard City ones and the Underdark ones is very strong. Can't believe I didn't vote on this ages ago... _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset

It's not bad, even if too many elements are too much high.

Come on with that last Hall Of Fame vote, people! Few builders in the NWN community deserve that HOF mark next to their name more than MG Skaggs. His many great prefabs alone are lifesavers for any builder of a persistent world, and this tileset is outstanding. _________________________ Realms Of Destiny PW

Tilesets don't get much better than this. Highly detailed, versatile, and gorgeous. Another great job from the master of perfabs. _________________________ Realms Of Destiny PW

Having seen this tileset in a module I have recently played, I can say it is a beautiful set. Smashing colours, amazing detail and certainly deserves HOF for the sheer effort of creating this wonderful set. Thank you. _________________________ QSW -NWVault Reviewers Forum

I used this back before I had an account and really loved it!

IF something comes up by some unforseen force and I can update this I will post it here. Otherwise, I think those are the only 2 incompatibility issues with HotU is the doors.2da and loadscreens.2da, just have to cut n paste into a HotU one.

Ok, well I was GOING to update this with HotU loadscreen/door 2da files, but I am not currently setup on my system to do so, so Vigilant I will have to suggest you might try adding the desert city doors/loadscreens to a HotU 2da. Thats the best I can do for now, my apologies, but real life has totally taken over right now. Hopefully someday I will be able to do more and once again get involved with this hak pak and community.
Thanks for the patience,
MGSkaggs
Hey, send me some email at my new address [email protected]. I need to speak with you a bit. :) Glad to see you're still around.

No this has not been updated as of yet, I had fallen out of the NW Community loop for awhile, was sucked back to the plane of reality *sighs* which lowered my fun save into the negatives...anyways, I will see what I can do within the next couple weeks. Thanks to all the fans for waiting and being patient with me. - MG

Did I miss something? It says it was updated 7-19-2005. Is this true? What's in the update?
I'm using this great tileset extensively in a module called 'The Sultan's Guard' that should be available in a matter of weeks.

I have to say this is one of the best-looking tilesets I've seen, even though it's a reskin. Fine attention to detail, some great model do-overs. Just a great looking addition to a desert campaign.

Vigilant, yes this will be updated, your correct, it was made post HotU.

I'm noticing that this tileset knocks out the HotU doors and loadscreens. I glanced in the 2das and they are not HotU compatible. Will this be corrected?

MGS, I had a question about compatibility. This hakpak says it works with all versions, but the other desert/eqyptian tilesets you have created say they work only with version 1.29 or lower. Now I just bought the platinum edition and I'm up to version 1.6 something. Will any of these work with the latest version with SoU and HotU installed??

I have HotU 1.64, and there is an error that occurs when I`m making the area. It says: Access violation at address 00482C9E in module "nwtoolset.exe". Read on address 00000064 ooga booga bla bla.
