Ok, after becoming frustrated on my Mini-Sahara Beta 2 release, I decided to do some placeables instead, and since I was working on Towers, hey what the heck. :)
The doors however are not included, nor could they be tagged to take them like Tileset towers, sorry, but add area transition triggers just before them and you can run right in and voila. Oh yes, there is a mountain pogada in there for secret high mountain sects.
*UPDATE 1.2 Pak* There are now 13 towers plus the Mountain Pagoda. Doors have NOT been added and will not be, if someone wants to undergo the project, feel free, but maintain credit on the models. *

Nice work, I am wondering if the 2da can be made CEP compatible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Again, nice work (I love the flexibility of the placeables and they have a great look).
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 3 that made this score of 10.00.

Hi - I also have the missing texture issue as described below ...
Posted by M.G.Skaggs ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-05-19 13:08:00
I have emailed GhostBear_74 regarding this, but we have not figured out why its happening on his/her system.
If anyone else has this problem, let me know, because I downloaded this from the vault and retested it and have no troubles with it, all textures show up in my toolset/mod.
Thanks,
MGSkaggs

Some of the towers are missing textures and resulted in a see thru wall. Anyone experiencing this? If so how do i fix this? I tried it on a new module with no other hakpak and it is still the same. :-(

I'm new to this so here comes the dumb question...How do you install the towers to be able to use them in the Tool set?

Hail! You can probably figure out what I did to get this to work just by looking at the model files, but if you have any problems, drop me a line and I'll try to help out. I guess I'll go ahead and create a tutorial, so everyone can learn how to do this.

If you want too Snake, thats fine and totally up to you, I didnt know you were going to undertake that project! =)
Unsure as to why its crashing your toolset, but when I do get time I will attempt the addition of the doors you used in your Placeable Houses, as I have taken a peek at it.
Thanks,
MGSkaggs

Hail! I've just been reminded of an song by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap: "Don't make promises that you can't keep!"
I have no problem adding the door to your tower models, and they load up fine into Gmax when I'm done. However, the toolset doesn't like the new models. It crashes every time I try to set the appearance to the tower model. I wish I had time to figure out why, but that's not something I have the luxury of doing. Maybe I'll fool with them some more later.

Hail! I guess I was the first one to figure out this little trick with the placeable doors. I'm surprised by that, considering the kind of expertise that is out there, but sometimes it's just a matter of looking at things differently.
I've been playing a little bit with your towers. The round towers seem to work fine, but if I set the pagoda to Useable, it sometimes crashes the toolset, and always crashes the game client. It seems to be OK if it is left as a static placeable. Since you have to have the placeable set to Useable for the door addition to work, it looks like the pagoda isn't going to get a working door soon. There should be no problem with the towers, though. A little rescaling of the entry ways is in order, since they are too small for the placeable door, but that's a very easy modification.
If you like, I can put in working doors on the towers and send them to you.

Snake

MG, great job! i cant stress to builders out there the incredible value of placable buildings, tileset structures are so limited and take up so HD space. in an ideal world the only stuff in tileset would be on the terrain list and all the indivual houses/towers/ect would be placables.

ps some people dont agree because of walkmesh issues....

Hail! I know how to put a working door on a placeable house. Take a look at the Placeable Houses hakpak I posted on April 19th, and you'll see that it can definitely be done. One of these days, I will probably write up a tutorial on it, but I don't have time to do it right now. I can assure you that it is possible. It's not even hard.

You're too kind M.G. Skaggs. Thank you for your hard work... all that you do for the Neverwinter community.
These towers are great... regardless of the doors.
Yanah,
How the hell can you be taking seriously? "no offense intended." What you said is extremely offensive, and rude -not to mention ungrateful.
Think you can do better? G-Max is free pip-squeak. Get to it.

Well YANAH, you let me know how you can put one on a PLACEABLE, and I will :P
Far as I know, you can't but if someone knows how too, let me know.

These tower PLACEABLES suck, no offense intended
you can't even place a door on them

Thank you for this, this is what I needed, historically (for those of us who care) villages or homesteads had a tower for defense in some regions of the world if they had anything, this is exactly what I needed for my small hamlets.
Maybe you can work on one that shoots arrows at hostiles now? Pretty Please? (Wink)
