After releasing my Myconids, there were quite a few requests that I make fungus/mushroom placeables from the Myconids, for any number of reasons. Included are two hak paks, one specifically for use with the Myconids hak and another for those who might want to use the placeables without the Myconids. I hope that they're suitable to everyone's needs.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 9 that made this score of 8.56.

It's a great hakpack combined with the myconids. And I had big plans scaring the +blocked+ out of my players by making one of these placeables turn into life sort of "gargoyle like". However as soon as I implement this placeables hak pack none of the SoU placeables work anymore :( I checked and there's no conflicting 2da files in this part.
It works fine with just the moving shroom hak pack.. but as soon as this is added the SoU placeables disappear on me.
Hope this can somehow be fixed! I would fix it if I had a clue but I don't have a clue how to do it :(

Any chance that we can have a post-SoU update to this?

Please disregard my last post - I hadn't realized that you must actually create the placeables using the Placeable Wizard - they work just fine now. Sorry for cluttering-up the thread.

For some reason, the placeables do not show up in my toolset. I've tried both hak files with and without the Myconids hak (which works just fine). I noticed in the Readme file that it was tested with 1.28 and no one has complained about it not working with 1.29 (which I'm updated to). Could that be the trouble?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

a big thanks to shazwozzer for making the most well
documented, user-friendly hakpacks around. Little details
like putting the .2da entries at the end make all the
difference! cheers

Thanks for all of the kind words, everyone. It's good to
hear that people will get some good use out of these
placeables after all.
Mokah - It's strange that, even with both hak paks, the
texture is not showing up. In the second hak pak, all three
of the placeables use the same texture map, so it simply
doesn't make sense that it would show up fine on the other
two, but not the large one. With the first hak pak, the
cause would likely be a missing file. The specific file is
probably the c_myconid03.tga file, which should be
present in the Myconids.hak file. If this file is not
present, that would cause the texture to not show up.
So if it isn't a case of a missing file, then it would seem
to be some strange technical error. Make sure that you're
patched up to version 1.28. Beyond that... well, it could
be seemingly any number of various things.
Hope that was at least a bit of help.

I absolutely love this hak. Everything works great for me
(the large mushroom does have a skin) and it looks better
than alot of Bioware stuff. What's even better is I was
at a point in my module making that I was actually
thinking, "Damn, I wish I had some mushroom placeables."
And then poof, this hakpak shows up on the vault.
Keep up the good work.

There's a problem with the Large Mushroom placable. It
doesn't seem to have a skin. The model is there, but it's
totally white. The other two work fine. I've tried both
hak packs and still no fix.

Great Work! We added the Myconids to the Dor Maeglin world -
very popular. Would love to collaborate sometime!

To make them glowing is a simple script, You should be able
to just use the one listed before... If my memory was right
it is either a paralyze or spectral... visual effect, but
you could probally use any DUR you want. Be careful though
because having lots of effects running can really slow down
the module and possibly drop players.
**WARNING PERSONAL PLUG**
you could always use my random effects script too and just
set it to pick a random DUR effect, this could be a tad
weird though especially if using multiple in one area...
anyways great placeables A+++, and now these will work
fabulously with your myconids a harty thanks for the great
work!

I can't thank you enough.
As if the Myconids weren't cool enough, now they
have "surroundings" for their habitat.
THANKS!!!
How hard would it be to make some that glow, like you make
the eyes of the myconid, or kind of like the glowing gems
placeables another person made?

Yeah, hehe, that clarifies it enough. Yeah, I definitely
want the placeables to go with the Myconids :)
I can comine this with my existing placeables Hak, no
problem; just wanted to be sure it didn't include the
Myconids as well since they're already in my Creatures
Hak... I can combine Haks like crazy... but I hate like heck
having to poke through them and take stuff back out....
hehe.
Thanks and Again, Great Work!

You sooo have to make a tutorial on how u model so well. It
is Superp. I want to model some coats and I dont know where
to find a decent tutorial on modelling and skinning could
you show me where you got your techniques from (if u didnt
have em to start with)??

These hak paks only include big mushroom placeables, which
are meant to resemble the myconids, they don't include the
Myconid creatures themselves. If you already have the
Myconids in your module, and don't necessarily need or want
big mushroom placeables to go along with the Myconids, then
you probably don't need this hak pak.
If you do want to include them, and have already started
work on a module, and the module doesn't include any custom
placeables, then it should be a very simple matter of
associating the Myconids.hak and the MycndFungus1.hak (from
this download) to your module. Or, you could simply combine
the contents of the two hak paks into one, and there
shouldn't be any problems.
Hope that clarifies things a bit. :)

I've already added the Myconids to a Hak and Module I'm
working on, but would really love to have the placeables as
well...
I'm assuming the Hak with just the placeables would be
fairly easy to add to the one I already have made?
And have you made any additions/improvements to the original
Myconids in this Hak (i.e. is there any reason for me to
update the ones I already have in my Hak)?
These are really great by the way :D
Thanks,
Dez
