I really enjoy these Blackrose Elf models. I am currently wondering if I am up to the effort of ripping the clothing from them for PC use. _________________________ The VIVE NWN Project.

Robert, thanks for accepting the task of creating the Wand
of Orcus, and Muddro, thanks for getting involved to help
this little project along.
About the model used for the Wand, I was thinking a mace
would be okay and might allow a bit of a bigger skull if
this is the issue you are speaking of Robert.
And I would like to apologize for my broken English in my
last post. It was about two o'clock in the morning and I
had to be up in 5 hours. I meant to finish with:
I am currently using the Balrog for my model of Orcus if
this will help you to size the model of the Wand of Orcus
Robert.

If you look a couple of posts down, there is a link to a
screenshot of pc necromancer robes that Mr. Burson is
currently working on.

Muddro there is a picture of Orcus kneeling over a bunch of
undead on page 137 of the BoVD. The Wand of Orcus is in a
stand that rests on one of the undead's back. The wand is
rather small in this picture in comparison to Orcus. I am
currently using the Balrog model for Orcus that will help
you with the scale Robert.

If there is a picture of the Wand of Orcus in the BoVE,
email and tell me what page it's on and I'll scan it and
email it to Mr. Burson.

Hey Robert, have you played Warcraft 3?
The undead have some really nice gothic type models....the
acolyte is a good one, it would require some retexturing
and remodeling and reanimating for the necromancer. The
ghoul is 1 that I would reall like to see though.....their
claws and stuff....just so evil :)
Posted by Dalmir "The Dark" ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-01-07 22:51:00
Holy ****, you mean you'll actually do it?! Let me give
you a bit of information so we can do this right. I don't
have a scanner, otherwise I would scan you a picture right
from the Book of Vile Darkness (a 3rd Edition D&D
supplement). Let me describe it to you as per the
description in the Book of Vile Darkness:
"This black obsidian and iton rod is topped with the skull
of a human hero slain by Orcus. If wielded in melee, it is
a +6 Unholy Chaotic Heavy Mace. If the wand touches any
nonoutsider, or an outsider with less than 15 HD, the
target must succeed at a Fortitude save (DC 25) or die
immediately. . ."
I don't think that it would serve well being designed as a
mace, so I think keeping it a staff would serve well. As
far as which slot to create it in, best case scenario would
be to create it as the slot following your originial skull
staff.
If anyone has a scanner who owns the Book of Vile Darkness,
or has access to one, and they are also interested in the
Wand of Orcus, I would appreciate any help in describing
this elaborate wand to Robert Burson.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks again, all!
Niz, I was hoping someone would appreciate the staff. I
really don't like the exiting magic staves except for the
effects.
Dalmir "The Dark", glad you like it! :D I could certainly
make a wand of orcus, but I don't have the description
handy. Should I make it any particular staff slot? (i.e.
staff 7 would be the default if you don't have any others).
BoromirNo1, actually I am in the middle of a sewer
retexture/reworking with the aim of creating a
gothic/victorian city tileset. Takes a bit longer than
creatures though...

*Bows in your direction*
Hey up these are fantastic. You sorted out the dodgy
looking hips and added two more models. What can I say
except GREAT STUFF and MORE, MORE, MORE!
I was talking to someone the other day concerning a gothic
tileset. With your models and a cool tileset a few dark
mods will surely be in the making.
Catch ya later.

(Hang on while I pick my jaw up off of the ground please...)
Very nice necromancer model. Has anyone else noticed the
detail in the actual face of this model. The eyes are
extremely detailed and unlike most models, this one looks
better the closer you get to it.
I have a small request. What are the chances of you being
able to make a version of the skull staff with a bigger
skull? I am currently working on the heirarchy of the
lower planes with various models from the community and
some custom scripts for the 'gate' ability of these various
fiends. Anyway, your skull staff would make a *perfect*
Wand of Orcus if the skull could be made a little bit
bigger.
I know that I am asking for a lot, but my current Wand of
Orcus is less than desirable, and that is an understatement.

Simply Georgeous. Splendid work Robert. I have tried your
hak and can honestly say that it is easily one of (if not
my favorite hak to date)pieces of custom content.
Nice job on the new staff as well. :)

Hey All,
Thanks for the kind words. Answers, in order:
Beta Darkheart2001, I've sorta gotten on a necromancer
kick and need to get it out of my system. I am putting the
finishing touches into a female necromancer and I have a
few undead in mind. Too many things really...
McFly, you've foiled my plans! Oh goth! as to clipping,
it's always a problem when you don't have collision
detection - why Bioware doesn't want to do cloaks, robes,
etc I think. Oh and no worries, there are at least eight
other orders in the city (including the Enchanters Guild)
for me to work on.
nathan, I have at least one more that's almost done and
lots of plans if I can keep the time commitment. Have to
fix up my module after beta testing is done soon - so prob
no stuff for awhile there... ;)
Ulef, thank you. They should work nicely for any kind of
undead module. Maybe someone will be really nice and use
them to convert the PnP boxed set sequel to Tomb of
Horrors. That would be awesome!

amazing! This is goin in my mod! heh you read my mind dont
you? those necros are EXACTLY what i need for the
inhabitants of the undead realm Nez'Gulaz, the player sure
is gonna be in for a surprise :)
