UPDATED: 10/20/02 - Cooshee Female, Cooshee Male, Cooshee Pup, Dalmatian adult and puppy, Doberman adult and puppy, Husky adult and puppy, Malamute, Mastiff, Terrier and puppy, Yellow dog and puppy, Alley cat, Black, Black and White, Calico, Grey, Orange, Siamese, Tabby, Tabby and White, Tawny, Tortie and White domestic cats, Black, White, Tabby and Tawny Bob-tail Cats, Black, White, Calico and Grey kittens, a Sewer Rat and a Small Rat (both based off Schazzwozzer's Rat Models). Includes Schazzwozzer's Rat Pak, an erf for all the pets, the rat pak erf and new portraits for 10 cats, 10 dogs, and Schazzwozzer's 3 rat portraits. Reskinning, Scaling, Modelling and 2da done by Nitocris ([email protected]) and Finniksa ([email protected]). Schazzwozzer's Dire Rat, Diseased Rat and Rat were done by Schazzwozzer, and are included.

You can use the erf files in the zip to import pre-made cats, dogs and rats into your modules. This takes up most of the user slots, but does not overwrite any official Bioware creatures. See the Readme_petpak3.html in the zip for more information. ***Known issues: There are no appropriate soundsets for some of these creatures at this time. Especially for the cats or the cooshee. *The download problem should be fixed now.*

Great job Nitocris&Finniksa, you guys made NWN modules a lot better and way more realistic. I just downloaded it, I haven't tried it, so, if you haven't, you should make it so we can pet the animals. That'd be awesome.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to find a way to get my characters to have the appearance of a house cat.. and the portrait a cat.. hmm.. Leto? Nah, won't work.. bah, I'll just get it and test out the set_appearance cheat.. dangit, I wish Leto worked with it..

Oops, forgot I didn't upload that hak as a zip. Just right-click and "save target as" to get the pet_equine.hak.

It just contains a combined 2da for those haks.

wonderful sets - really like the cats
horses are great too though...
so have you thought of combining the equine set with the pets set? I can't seem to get them to go into the same mod

I don't understand the 2da's and don't know about HAK editing either (are they the same?)
anyway - would like horses in my fields and cats in my alleys but the two just won't go together - help please :)

I know about the problems with the .mdl files, though I thought I corrected most of them (which seems sad considering there are still reported problems.) It's really a failing for this pak, but I don't have the time to fix it or I would.

I have no problem with others doing this, and I believe there is a "fixed" pak available although the author hasn't contacted me and I haven't checked it out myself. Apparently blue eyes are a fault in malamutes, I'll have to tell Finniksa that, since all I remember doing were the cooshies as far as the various dog models go. :D

Ha! I was just coming here to post that. The same thing holds true for the cats, BTW. The first clue should have been when the "white" cat appeared identical to the grey, but I didn't start digging until the BW dog turned into a Cooshee.

Nevermind that last comment. I figured out the problem.
All the .mdl files for the dogs have the incorrect names
for the models. If you have this problem and want to fix
it you need to open each dog .mdl in a text editor and
change every reference to c_Dog to whatever the name of
that particular .mdl file is. So for the c_husky.mdl the
references to c_Dog need to be changed to c_husky.

Sounds like a daunting task, but if you use Notepad just
do Edit-->Replace. (Just incase you weren't aware of this
option).

Good work. It adds a nice bit of realism to a city having
tabby cats waking the alleys. Wish the portrats where a bit
better though. Agian my advice is to try Elfwood.

I have a glitch if anyone can help please do, heres my
problem.
I put the hak pak in advanced| module properties to petpak3
it builds with no errors, then I import the pets.erf file,
go to paint creatures| custum| monster| animals| feline|
click on ally cat and it says this "Access violation at
address 005EBC91 in module 'nwtoolset.exe'. read of address
0000000C"
I'm a complete newbie so if i'm doing anything wrong please
tell me

IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!

Okay, this download problem Finn and I are having appears
to be isolated to JUST US. Anyhoo. You can download it
without problems (from what people are telling me) but if
you have problems doing so, try to Save Target As. This
worked for even Finn and I, low as we are. :P Thanks to
Maximus for checking that out for us. It's been fun, but I
have to scream now.

Nothing. Is. Ever. Easy. >.<

Anyway. Hope y'all like it. I have some farm animal
models that need my attention. Drop me an email if you're
having difficulties.

Oh, I forgot to do weiner dogs and chihuahuas. I knew I was
forgetting something. The collie or shepherd will be in the

I'm the proud owner of an Alaskan Malamute (sort of a Dire
Husky for those who don't know) and now when I create my
personal avatar to introduce my mods my doggy will be right
there at my side.

Seryn - Hmm, that's weird. Were you able to change the
appearance to the terrier or the husky in the toolset? I'll
check out the erfs today, there could have been an export
problem on my part. I'll post again when I figure out what
happened.

The set is great! Awesome work. I had one problem, though.
The .erfs seemed to be mixed up with the dog names. For
example, by importing the terrier erf, I got the yellow dog.
By importing the husky, I got no dog at all (the
terrier--my favorite!--wasn't in any of the dog erfs). Did
I do something wrong, or are the erfs mixed up?

No here is what we need to do. Get an Elephant model and

Hehe, the Sims. If NWN and the Sims combined, that would be
probably one of the best games ever made. ;p Okay, I just
like to build my own home. I confess!

I can add some weiner dogs for the next update - I was
already going to add a chihuahua, collie, shepherd,
doberman and mastiff. Weiner dogs could really be cool.
I'll definately try that one out.

On the horse thing.. I know that some folks have already
created a non-rideable horse, but it won't be released
until december at the earliest (as far as I know). Nitocris
has made a preliminary donkey model, but she's working on
the animations. We didn't want to use a dog animation
because it wags its tail and all that kind of stuff.. but
we're going to try to edit some of the animations this
time, possibly.. see how that turns out. Hopefully we'll
have a farm animal pak out after the update to the pet pak
in a week or two.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Really glad you all seem
to like the pets. Now.. where's that frisbee placeable.. ;)
