A Placeable Castle. The Hak contains models for pieces of a castle wall and gate. The script contains code to dynamically create a keep of a specified size at a specified location. This Hak was specifically designed to work in large areas with the camera unlocked and the fog distance set high and sky haks. Very special care has been taken to make the keep walls visible at some distance. When in motion around the keep you will occasionally see parts shimmer, this is expected.
I have updated everything in this Hak to what I'm calling version 1.0. Larger castles are now possible with higher walls.

I just wished to post some comments to encourage you in your work.
Working myself on a new tileset that should make the city exterior more attractive for my module, I realise the pain it is sometimes to switch between the Gmax, Nwhak, ultraedit/notepad, Leto, the toolset, the game, etc.
Thank you for your efforts, they are appreciated.

Just made one quick change by putting the 2da into the .hak file. It should download PlaceableCastles_V1.zip now.

I have updated the download to version 1.

The Castle works pretty well. Nice job :).

Bah! I forgot to make an erf with the scripts. Well just export them from the module. Will fix next time.

I have updated the hak: the doors now animate correctly! Also I included a sample of a larger castle that still needs its models tweaked for distance.

Randy, make sure you have the latest patch of SOU 1.32.
Elf, I am adding stuff and will update the hak pretty soon. It is very time consuming to make the castle walls work right, so I'm not sure how far I will go. I do want to make the walls higher and add some buldings.

I like this very much, but can you modify the walls to be taller? Perhaps twice the size, to really give the feeling of the indomitable fortress which cannot be conquered. This in combination with ladders or stair sets and placeable doors would really let us get into building some more creative castles, perhaps even to the grand scale of Morrowind's large fortresses.

Sorry for the useless remark :o). I was searching the 2da in the hak. (and I thinj it will be better if it was)
I test the hak with the 2da but there are some problem. In the game, creating the castle make crash nwn on my pc. In the toolset, some placeable have no appareance.
I hope all will work soon because this hak is a very good idea and I will sur uste in my module :).

There a placeables 2da in the zip file; copy it to the override directory. Copy the .hak to the hak directory.

This hak seems to be very interesting but there is no "placeable.2da" to add the castle placeable. Maybe I didn't understand how it works. And when I test the module, creating the castle made just appear 4 doors at each corner :o/. I hope you'll add a 2da soon ;).
