2 Leantos 2 Shacks - are functional like tents 16 Tents (w danglymesh) - 1 Tiny, 1 small, 2 medium and 2 xtra large tents in 2 colors (16 tents total).
You can actually walk inside the larger tents & shacks (indicated as functional), and put placeables inside them.
Read me file contains lots of information including instructions for intalling this hackpack.
HackPack includes portraits, erfs and a demo module.
To start.. it doesnt work with hotu, so it wont show up.. and if you try to use with hotu it will overwrite other files...
Also, it does not contain an erf file.. so you have to add all the items in by hand. Add new placeables and find the hak contents from the list.
If the missing erf is an oversight, fine.. update and make people happy. If it wasnt.. well, hope you dont mind a few low votesIndeed - Teal'C, SG-1 _________________________ I have read of a place where humans do battle in a ring of jello - Teal'C, SG-1

Okay, I've added, re-added, saved, un-added, saved, re-added, saved, EVERYTHING I can think of and still, search though I might, I can't find the rustic shelters anywhere in my placeables! What am I missing? I'm running 1.32 and can't seem to make placeable tents anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is there any way that it can be scripted to have a tent appear and disappear when using an item. If someone could do that it would be great. Nothing would beat and adventurer being forced to carry and use thier own shelter.

Okay, found the placeables! I had an old and removed hak in there which had taken up the same space, so the names didn't appear. No worries.

There seems to be no erfs or demo module in this download - just the hak and the readme.

This is great, just what I need, but I have one small, tiny problem. The tents work fine when your just placing them as static placeables in the toolset, but for some strange reason, (it might be my script, if it is, well, it was beyond what i know), when you use the tents for spawning in game, the roof just doesn't budge. So, you end up with a nice tent you just pitched, but when you go in, the roof stays on. Is it a scripting problem on my side, sods law, or is there something that needs to be done with the model?

O dear lord!!! I was looking for something like this but never did I espect anything so perfect for what I wanted :)
usually it's something that is kinda what you want and you either modify or make do with it, but this, this is 100% exactly what I've been craving. I was going to try and do it myself on MAX, but for some reason the scripts and plugins won't work, never mind, I'll sort it sooner or later. thanks So so so so so much :) Excellent, great, you've been the answer to my prayers.

Excellent work on this, I am very impressed. This has added more life and pizzazz to my campaign world, thank you.

DrBino - Dude, BioWare's Rob Bartel specifically requested I add danglymest to the tents for inclusion of this hack into the Witches Wake II module (that got put on hold).
I was happy to do it, I feel it adds significant realism, I've had good feedback on it, and I learned more about danglymeshes doing it.
I invite you to try them out, take a look at them billowing in the wind - I think it is noticable, but that's just my humble opinion.

Dude, I would think the extra dangly mesh would be insignificant, especially considering all the dangly meshes already figured into your average combat scene: character's clothes and hair, grass, any nearby banners or sails, etc.

Exactly what I needed. Outstanding. I like being able to
walk into one, and the roof cuts away. Great for making
army camps.

........forgot to say! lovely models, really useful!

...how does the dangly mesh effect processor speed? I've
set up a camp in one mod and I'm a bit scared that it could
be a real processor crusher when things kick off into
combat. Anyone any thoughts on this?

YES!!
Just what I wanted, its so hard to make camps when you
dont have friggin tents. Thank you for your work, this
will add to the realism of my module.

Merle, it's very easy to make your own textures. just
extract the .tga's from the hak pak and use a painting
program, such as photoshop. save your changes, and load
back into the hak pak. (be sure to keep a copy of the
original though.)

These are great! The functional tents are great, but I
especially love the rustic shacks. Now I can finally build
a shanty town!
Any chance of making some colorful textures for the large
tents? They would be very nice to use as pavilions for a
market, travelling gypsies, or a bright military
encampment.

wow! it looks great, gonna try it out, thanks Roth!

Steve97238...
Yes, you can actually walk inside the 3D model of the tent
without having to go through an area transition.
The tents roof, and part of the sides are fading geometry
so they simply disaper when the get in the way. Alowing
you to see yourself, inside the tent.
Special care was also taken to make sure a character can't
walk thru the sides of a tent - only the opening. The
largest tent (not shown in the thumbnail) can hold a bed,
dresser, tables, chairs and more.
So there is no area change/transition. However, there is
nothing stoping you from from placing an area transition
at the mouth of the tent should you need to send someone
to another area.
Let me know if you have other questions.

Can you walk inside the tents? And if so is it an area
change or what?
