Description
First version of some custom whips I am currently working on. This hak will add 6 new colors for the whip. (red, blue, green, purple, brown and chain) The chain version still needs some work as I don't know how or if its even possible to make the texture transparent in game. I am currently working on adding more colors, and tips for the whip also. Questions, comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

****************************** Update 12.12.03 -Redid the chain whip, now uses actual chains instead of a whip reskin. Uses the same chain models as other weapons do. (if the model is too much for some system, or someone prefers the old chain whip let me know and I will add it back in. -Added 5 tips to the black and chain whip. Tips include spike ball, iron ball, hook, spear, and jagged square thingy (don't know the technical name for it ;@) -Replaced default black whip icon with a black whip instead of brown to stop confusion. -Updated whip test module.

Legacy vote. We have been using some of these whips for ages on our server. With a recent hak upgrade, we have added 4 more to the selection. Thanks for sharing your work.

The chain whips are nice. I find the colored leather whips to be a little silly. This hak is a bit annoying however, in the fact that the way the model files are named, they do not fit very seamlessly into NWN. Having one set of them go to 7, and the other go to 5 makes for several gaps and holes. I would like to see them properly named; and if no color variations are going to be made, then I would like to see them as separate models, with 1 color variation each. The models themselves, and their animations I give a vote of 10, but their implementation I give about a 4.

Alrighty then...there seems to be a bit of a problem...I -finally- got the hak to work, putting it in the override and such...but that was a long time ago, and have since lost the hak. Theres problems with my internet, and I can't download it from the vault for some reason, so can someone send it to my email?

The hak has worked fine for me on the latest version of NWN with both HOTU & SOU installed. Make sure you have HOTU installed, it won't work with out it. I think the test module might use some SOU stuff as well. Don't place any of this in your over ride folder, theres no telling what problems will happen. Also theres always possibilities that when combining haks, texture names might be the same or stuff may get over written. The hak contains no 2das or game data, just models and textures. Some haks that mess around with the weapons 2das pre hotu don't have the whip stuff in there also.

yhea um...DL'd it and i got into the test module once...but when i tried to open the chest the game locked up. and then after that all the modules with the whips in it (also tried taking the contents of the hak and putting them in the override so i could use the whips in every module)but as soon as i choose either "new character" or "premade" it locks up! so i cant use these...whats up with that?!

hey i play alot of Drow females from the Salvatore books, like Quenthel and Triel and Halisstra and all them...they have a viper whip! i understand it would be hard to make a whip with multiple vipers but i would be content with just one viper! just an idea...great work!

I have a strange problem. When I try to combine your hak with some others instead of showing me the correct models for your whips it shows me metalic clothing pieces!!! Do you have any idea what can cause such a thing!!? I'm lost :(

Do you need HOTU? yes.
How do you install it, check the read me file included.
Put the syxwhip hak in your nwn/haks folder and the whip test module in you nwn/modules folder.

Will they over write the whips in HOTU? No, there is only one kind, black in HOTU. Blades and bludgeons type tips are what I am working on now. As for a snake head, show me a pic and I'll go for that as well. I also want to eventually make different handle pieces and give the handle a different texture.

Most definitly....snake head whips. (I'm pretty sure i read they left those out of HoTU), so it's a MUST !!!
